Gendry is a son of Roberts but can't legally inherit anything due to his illegitimate birth unless he was legitimized by some King / Queen however he does have Kings blood, and apparently there is power in kings blood
I've been wondering the same thing. After travelling a lot and becoming experienced in many ways ;) (worldwise) , he might make a better king than Jon. I don't think he would desire the crown, though. (But he is a 'bastard', after all, and bastards seem to be the 'thing' these days. ;) )
The problem with that, is that Cersei wouldn't allow another Robert's bastard to take the crown. Maybe the bastards have a "thing" in this story, but this is GoT, anything can happen.
We know that the power of the Old Gods is real, and we know that the power of the Red God and Many-Faced God is real, but I don't recall ever hearing anything that proved the Seven were real.
it's possible that the old gods and the lord of light aren't real either, Melisandre could just be doing magic and the children of the forrest are capable of magic as well and could've just made the trees.
I'm still hoping for the... plump... baker boy to become the rightful ruler of the iron throne His pie shall unite the people. They will all remember the gravy
Tyrion advising Danny to leave her lover behind and not take them to kings landing contrasts with him bringing Shae to Kings Landing himself when he is intending to rule. This show how Tyrian is moving on from love and passion into a more careful game player, the son his father always wanted?
A more direct parallel would be Rob Stark, who married for love, and we all saw what happened from that. Wasn't Shae already in Kings Landing? Can't remember where Shae was from in the show, all I remember is she was a hooker.
No, Tyrion met her on the battlefield. (Bronn swiped her from some other soldier to give to Tyrion the day before he had to go to war.) And when Tywin told Tyrion he was sending him to King's Landing to be the Hand of the King, he told him not to take the whore. But he did it anyway, even though he knew damn well if his father found out, it was going to be a problem. I think that's a better parallel than the thing with Rob, because Rob actually thought everything was going to be cool once he apologized (dumb). In Tyrion's case, he knew going in that having Shae with him was going to be a problem, but he was falling for her by then, so he brought her against his better judgment. And of course she turned out to be a huge liability. She created all kinds of tension for him after he had to marry Sansa. Because of her jealousy, she became the final nail in his coffin at the trial, and she ended up sleeping with his dad, which led to him murdering her and his father. Since he knows Dany might have to marry someone when she gets to Westeros, he can foresee the same kind of problems happening because of Daario.
u guys really have the best analysis..alot of other channels recycle the same things but u guys point stuff out that I haven't heard or realized before..awesome job
My mom pointed this out to me, the costumes of Cersei and Dany are parallels. The chain and shoulder plates of Cersei, and the metal piece and shoulder decorations of dragons. They're coming together to face off and their clothing foretells it. It's beautiful.
I agree that Bran might actually journey south of the wall because of that Tower of Joy revelation. To tell Jon his true parentage. Perhaps he will even warg into ghost so he can come carry him cuz Meera definitely can't.
oh yeah... and there's a lot of throat slitting... which leads me to believe that Jon snow will make his last Stand against the white walkers At The Neck!
That makes sense, but in the books Dany has a vision of soldiers armored in ice (White Walkers) being burned by Dragonfire at the Trident. I know the book and show are different and that it can play our differently. Just putting that out there.
I kind of fell like Jon Snow being called the white wolf is a little ironic. It would be cool if he was called the white dragon after he finds out he's a Targaryen. It would basically make him the opposite of another Tagaryan bastard, Daemon Blackfyre who was the black dragon.
Just found your channel, 11 minutes into this video and goosebumbs haven't left a single part of my upper body yet. I love this, I love seeing how complex film making is and when it's done right, you don't notice these things, you just soak in the emotions. This video is gold, in how it uncovers these beautiful details and makes me want to give Miguel all the awards. Can't wait for the rest of your channel!
So if u think about it little finger is the one who started the whole of the game of thrones by killing Jon arryn which led to ned stark becoming hand and etc

My prediction about Cersei's inevitable death. She plans to blow up the Red Keep but doesn't account for Jamie who discovers her plan. Traps her at the red keep before she can escape and forces her to stay by holding her against her will saying, "we came into this world together and we are going to leave together dear sister."
"The Warrior punishes those who believe themselves beyond the reach of justice" - I think this might be a reference to The Hound. He already punished those who killed believers in the seven (the group that was about to build a church but got killed by supposed members of the brotherhood with no banners). He is a great warrior and well, since he already punished those, he might be the one punishing Cercei too somehow. Maybe by taking her trump card, Zombie Clegane, through the Clegane Bowl?! Maybeeee, maybeee....
Could also be Arya, Brienne, the Brotherhood without Banners (and _maybe_ a zombified Blackfish? AKA, Lord Stoneheart taking back Riverrun and aiding Arya to avenge all those who've wronged Houses Stark & Tully?). Incidentally all may end up meeting each other in the Riverlands.
MetsysEU Arya's arc may be an assassin who transitions back to being a warrior, but honestly, I doubt GoT cares very much in discerning whatever differences that might be between a "warrior" and an "assassin". That whole "warrior" foreshadowing might not solely have had to do with Cersei, but considering Cersei is still on Arya's list? I wouldn't take Arya out of the running the one to kill her. Brienne has nothing directly to do with Cersei, but if Brienne and Arya run into each other in the Riverlands or around it, Brienne swore that vow to Catelyn to protect her daughters, so wherever Arya is insistent on going, Brienne would follow. Considering the dramatic potential in Brienne and The Hound meeting again, it's also all but certain those two will also run into each other at some point and, again since ALL these characters are in the Riverlands or the vicinity? It makes a lot of sense to economize the storytelling with fewer episodes to work with and have them all meet in the Riverlands or nearby.
I agree with your theory. I think the 'bitter-sweet' ending George promised us will be that we cut to many years later with someone studying 'the song of ice and fire' - a name for a period in history much like the 'dance of the dragons', and we never really know _exactly_ what happened at the end, only who died and who lived, if even that.
"Valyrian Steel makes white wlkers not feel so good" He says as one literally turns into DUST. They predicted Infinity War in 2016. Wtf is going on with this channel.
About the question if Danny is going to make the trip without trouble let's all remember Euron Greyjoy and his fleet, we didn't get to see any update on his progress, and another thing is that he might have a certain item......we shall see but i predict a big Naval Battle.
+gussi123 I would expect that Dany would burn the ship that Euron is in and then Yara would take control of the other 999 ships. This would be the world's shortest naval battle.
Love the Godfather reference! This is the first analysis I've seen that catches it, and it was the very first thing I noticed while watching the episode.
This is probably one of the best channels for breakdowns. It was so in depth and still captivating, great editing. I loved the musical analysis of the Light of the Seven score track. I'm hooked, keep em coming guys!
This was your best breakdown yet. I especially liked the breakdown of the musical score. I think the best shows and movies always have scores that are conduits to tell the story. The best scores can convey the emotion and them of a story by themselves. (John Williams is the mast of this). Thanks for all the hard work. I thoroughly enjoy these breakdowns!
Not only Baratheon but Tyrell, Frey, and Bolton have also been wiped out. Also, it makes no sense for Dany to be on cool terms with Varys. There is a scene where they meet and it must happen off screen. Also, by the fact that we see Martell ships alongside Dany's ships proves that Dany is currently sailing north in the narrow sea; otherwise the ships would have had to sail from Dorne to Dragon's Bay and sail right back, which is illogical. It makes much more sense that their forces join at Sunspear, Dany meets Varys, and all of them sail north.
It is not illogical. When Varys left Meereen, Daenarys's ships had been burnt, she had none. He left to find alliances and ships, that is what he told Tyrion. He got the alliances with Houses Martell and Tyrell, and went back with their ships to Meereen, where in the meantime Daenarys was preparing her own fleet (formal slavers' ships) and theIron Fleet. And all of them together they sail back to Westeros at the end.
That makes a lot of sense, but it would require the ships from Dorne and The Reach to prepare, sail to Meereen, then immediately sail back, which is little more than a waste of resources, unless the Iron Fleet wasn't ready to sail towards Westeros, which is not true since they had just sailed to Meereen without difficulty.
Someone explain to me why Gendry may not be a Barratheon after all? For one, he's at least a bastard. Two, there's rumors he may be an acutally legitimate son of Robert and Cersei.
Gendry has probably rowed his way to Asshi, fought krackens, cured cancer, become Dragonborn, and gotten a PhD all in the time since we've last seen him.
BRAVO! Excellent work this season! I have only been watching your breakdowns this year and I look forward to them so much! I also share them with my viewers who join me for live HOs to talk about this show! Thanks so much!
I know your question was kinda rhetorical, but I have to say it anyway. There were a handful of Targaryen bastards that took the name Rivers in homage to their mother's homeland, when it should instead have been Waters for King's Landing. For instance, "the three-eyed crow" was Brynden Rivers, and was the son of Aegon the Unworthy. Point being, Jon's heritage being a secret, it was just far more practical to name him after his uncle-father-Ned's homeland. A bastard of the north.
Sansa has matured and though she isn't too smart to be fooled, I think she is too smart to be fooled easily. She knows what littlefinger is and I think there is no way she falls for his ploy to put her and Jon at odds. We can all feel it coming that the master manipulator (Little Finger) is going to be manipulated.
During Cersei's coronation she is addressed as "Cersei of the house Lannister" but she should be "Cersei of the house Baratheon" She cannot claim the throne as a Lannister......
Fɘed Back one way or another, the point is she have absolutely no claim to the throne. She is the queen only because of the fear, and that might be a problem...... It gave the lords a legit reason to turn to the Targaryens
The methods of execution at the Red Wedding weren't just mirrored - each executioner met his death the same way. Roose stabbed Rob in the gut - he was stabbed in the gut. Tywin arranged the crossbow execution - he was killed by crossbow. Walder had his son slit Catelyn's throat - Walder got his throat cut.
This video was incredibly brilliant. Wellllll MADE!! So informative and engaging. If you skipped the music portion of this video, go back and watch! Badass!!
Yep. But it will be a little problematic. First of Jon was just proclaimed the king in the north. Cause lords of the north thought he is eddards son. Second - Brann is now the last living son of Eddard. That would make him the lord of winterfell and the king in the north. So my guess is that they won't meet.
WaywardEnding Jon is still half stark though Plus I don't think Bran wants to be Lord. Besides he's the three eyes Raven now so he's got his hands full
Claim is important but being the people's champ helps a lot too Jon is definitely people's champ and if Bran Endorses him nobody will contest (and win) Except maybe Their sister
Wow, this analysis is beautifully laid out for us viewers, with exquisite insight into all the intricacies of the episode, of which I missed many. Bravo!
westeros is britain not rome and essos is europe/asia...the first men are the celtic tribes/northmen and the andals are the angles which is where england gets its name from. the targarians are the normans that invaded britain from france . the dothraki are the mongols. and so on and so forth. if anything rome would represent valyria since compared to medieval europe rome was far more advanced of a civilization.
the soundtrack was freakin bomb. this episode was the epitome of art
BARATHEON LINE ISNT DONE. GENDRY IS STILL ALIVE.
Matt Heffernan so is jon snow
+taipz yep.
Gendry is still alive and I don't think that GGRM introduced him as an ordinary extra. I think he will have a purpose in the end result.
Oh fo sho, he's a cooking something up. Just that he's not a Baratheon.
Gendry is a son of Roberts but can't legally inherit anything due to his illegitimate birth unless he was legitimized by some King / Queen however he does have Kings blood, and apparently there is power in kings blood
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! These finale deserved a 10.

This is such a brilliant channel. Loved this breakdown entirely!
What about Gendry?
He would have circumnavigated the entire planet by now
I've been wondering the same thing. After travelling a lot and becoming experienced in many ways ;) (worldwise) , he might make a better king than Jon. I don't think he would desire the crown, though. (But he is a 'bastard', after all, and bastards seem to be the 'thing' these days. ;) )
he could've gone to storms end
+Jack J Hamlet?
He's a smith at the inn at the crossroads. He's caring for a dozen orphans and he's in connection with the Brotherhood.
The problem with that, is that Cersei wouldn't allow another Robert's bastard to take the crown. Maybe the bastards have a "thing" in this story, but this is GoT, anything can happen.

can someone please cut the tower of joy scene with that line

The Bleeding Star is also refering to Arthur Dayne, not only his sword.
Good point! I had forgotten his nickname. 👍🏼
I thought it was "The sword of the morning "
Well, the sword's called 'Dawn'. A House Dayne's sigil is a sword and falling star, so Arthur personifies his colours - a bleeding star.
I don't think Jon fulfills many of the prophecy's tenets, for instance "salt and smoke"?

spent nearly 115 minutes watchin this and preston jacobs GoT review back to back.
me 2! yay!
Probably the most intellectual review of the episode found online. New Rockstars' entire review series of GoT has been amazing. Well done!
So wouldn't Jon be a Sand instead of Snow? Because the Tower of Joy is in Dorne. Bastards BORN IN Dorne are Sands.
TheStruggle IsReal I suppose so.
TheStruggle IsReal Nerdy yes, Buzzkill no.
=D
Nah, if I recall correctly bastards last names are given where they are raised rather than where they are born. So he would still be a Snow
Unfortunately, humming may have caused Emilia Clarke to tense her neck and not look as good as she should have in this majestic scene.
Kiss me I'm cumming, hold me I'm humming... Hmmmmmmmmmm 🎼
Nah she's still smoking hot
Just when I was giving up on life... About time lol
Best review ever. Great job. polished, beautifully done! I've watched and listened to this many times.
Sansa has matured and though she isn't too smart to be fooled, I think she is too smart to be fooled easily. She knows what littlefinger is and I think there is no way she falls for his ploy to put her and Jon at odds. We can all feel it coming that the master manipulator (Little Finger) is going to be manipulated.
this is one of the most intuitive hour long video. Waaaaay better than my college courses
During Cersei's coronation she is addressed as "Cersei of the house Lannister" but she should be "Cersei of the house Baratheon"
She cannot claim the throne as a Lannister......
Fɘed Back one way or another, the point is she have absolutely no claim to the throne. She is the queen only because of the fear, and that might be a problem...... It gave the lords a legit reason to turn to the Targaryens
All of this guys content is great. Really well thought out and on point. Well done
who even uses those "skip theory time" links???
This is a brilliantly done channel. I won't sully this with my own thoughts. Well done. Best break down on RUclips.

What an insane video. Fantastic job. Its really rare to find youtubers making such quality videos these days
One of the best analyses on RUclips! Great video!
sanser is johns biggest threat
This video was incredibly brilliant. Wellllll MADE!! So informative and engaging. If you skipped the music portion of this video, go back and watch! Badass!!
I really hope Bran will tell Jon who his mother is. Main thing I'm looking forward (or hoping) to happening next season
Yep. But it will be a little problematic. First of Jon was just proclaimed the king in the north. Cause lords of the north thought he is eddards son. Second - Brann is now the last living son of Eddard. That would make him the lord of winterfell and the king in the north. So my guess is that they won't meet.
WaywardEnding Jon is still half stark though
Plus I don't think Bran wants to be Lord. Besides he's the three eyes Raven now so he's got his hands full
Claim is important but being the people's champ helps a lot too
Jon is definitely people's champ and if Bran Endorses him nobody will contest (and win)
Except maybe Their sister
Amazing! I've shared this far and wide to keep the series alive a little bit longer!
its here, its finally here !
dude you poured a lot of work into this video.. a lot of great tidbits.. subscribed

Wow, this analysis is beautifully laid out for us viewers, with exquisite insight into all the intricacies of the episode, of which I missed many. Bravo!
YES FINALLY
Love your work, found your analysis of "THE" scene score especially interesting! Thanks :)
westeros is britain not rome and essos is europe/asia...the first men are the celtic tribes/northmen and the andals are the angles which is where england gets its name from. the targarians are the normans that invaded britain from france . the dothraki are the mongols. and so on and so forth. if anything rome would represent valyria since compared to medieval europe rome was far more advanced of a civilization.
slither42 I believe they said King's Landing (not Westeros) is very similar to ancient Rome
perfect breakdown of this awesome score. this is the first time I've followed your analysis of a season. I enjoyed it. keep up the good work!!
U guys are awesome still waiting on the walking dead videos tho 😁
Wow, what an amazing analysis video! When I watch an episode I notice a lot but it's great to have it so well spelled out and explained!
"Daenerys' aunt Lyanna??" Am I missing something? Wouldn't Lyanna be her sister-in-law?
Such a good analysis! Love the way you described the music.
I wonder if Robb's Will will pop up? I think he made Jon legit and his heir.
ScarletB show not! Books probably
I loved your musical analysis. I'm being stuck with that song since the episode and now it makes a lot more sense! Now I'll have it stuck again
