so, she was abused. Listen to what she said and did not say. She was 14 /15 when she found fame...she is an angel, a fab singer but she needs to come out and tell what happened
Where does she say she was abused? She had to obviously deal with creeps but said their tough image helped...i could easily say she abused men but that would be reading into something thats not there and would be stupid to say...ffs
It wasn't just a tough girl image. At some point, she began carrying and told others that she was doing so. Maybe it was just more of the tough image to scare away the guys, but the person that told me had a direct relationship with her, and the image thing would not have mattered.
I think She may have given a glint into the industry, that it was full of slimy people like Elvis's manager, Col Tom Parker-I think was his name, and even worse than him had to exist.
Rest In Peace, Mary Weiss. You will be missed.
Wish there was more of this. Mary Weiss and The Shangri-Las deserve to be in the R&R Hall of Fame.
She should write an autobiography!
A belief that men are artists and women are perceived as products in the music industry is a distinction that is still in place today.
Thanks

This is not the whole interview.

She never said she was abused. More like objectified.
