Don’t forget to hit the coffee too. I did all those other things.😂😂😂 you do bring up some nice valid points unfortunately most of my video is still 1080 P and down to 30 frames per second until my content gets better. I don’t think I’ll worry about just how awesome my video looks at this point. I do personally like to hear, more exhaust in my video. But I’m still like a kid wanna hear the cool stuff.😂😂😂. But I definitely have shut off other peoples videos when it’s obvious that they did nothing to cut the wind noise whatsoever. Those are just terrible. Fantastic video. I watched the whole thing it kept my interest. Thank you, John.
Thank you for the kind words! Try recording at 2.7k/30. It doesn't take up THAT much more space, but the higher quality codec YT will give you will pay dividends. People want the high-res stuff, so give it to them, no matter WHAT the content is about :D Don't wait to increase your production quality - SD cards are cheap-ish and when you get your style dialed in, you'll be happy you already took care of the low-hanging fruit.
You definitely put out quality videos whatever you’re doing which I know you tell us all the time but I think you have a special magic somewhere. It’s your signature.
lol…I think that car thought you were waving them on. There’s a lot to motovlogging for sure. Content overall is subjective. My best pal, Capt. Dave loves to watch the ride and scenery but hates the talking. He really doesn’t watch much RUclips but would hate your channel for that reason. I think he’s the exception to most viewers. If you rode around and didn’t talk, I’d hate it lol. I’ve also seen some mvloggers that rode and talked that I just didn’t enjoy. So subject matter is also important. Or delivery. As if I know what I’m talking about 😂, but just my uneducated opinion. I can see all of the work you put in and shows (and sounds) great in your videos.
Thanks, RJ! That car... who knows? They all like to pull out in front of you around here. You always have to be paying attention. As for your buddy - he'd LOVE Dewey Rides' channel - he's mostly music with small talking bits. I am the opposite, as you mentioned, and Dewey & I have compared notes... my more music-oriented videos don't get the watch time his does, and his mostly-talking videos are the opposite, LOL.
I think the problem with motovloggers is, they can’t hold a convo with normal people and then expect themselves to hold a convo with themselves while recording solo and have nothing to talk about due to the fact most are friendless. Just my experience with the few I’ve met.
@@Motoramblings This comment was lost on me too, until John explained it. He was being sarcastic. These are the comments he was getting on his channel 🤷🏽♂️
You are absolutely right. Sunny or cloudy has different looks and settings I pretty much keep mine raw, mainly due to using an iPad to edit, but that's the true ride wind etc. may be why I don't get a lot of subs, but I want it fun to do not a job. Great video thanks.
Thanks for watching! I get the limitations of editing on a tablet vs a full-fledged PC, but there might be some in-camera things you can do about wind noise. And, with practice and probably a few plug-ins, there's a lot to be gained in speed/efficiency of editing and production quality - so it doesn't turn into a job :D
we love you Ruby and your content I love your paintings and your true blue nature True Blue is an Australian saying about respect and loyalty that you show in bucket loads my friend...Stay well brother
I have often wondered if motovlogging is dead. I'm not entirely sold that folks enjoy listening to someone fighting wind noise, motor noise, and abiant noise. Sometimes, I just do a voice-over.
Traditional motovlogging MIGHT be dead-ish. But I'll be darned if it isn't still FUN! :D Non-motorcycle people [and some m/c people] do not want to deal with the extraneous noise... and they're missing out. There's just something to a motovlog visually that is appealing. I like your voiceover style - that's the way to do it!
I enjoy the struggle with motorvlogging. The last couple of videos I produced were inspired by you. I'm still experimenting with the audio, and at this point, it's mostly environmental issues. I didn't use any audio editing either because it kills the ambient sounds. Wind noise drives me nuts if it's more than 5% of the volume. I like 25% of the audio motor sounds. If I ever reached that, I'd be a happy Sally.
Thanks - that's encouraging to hear! The audio IS the trickiest bit... and all of the plugins I use have adjustments you can make so that you get the right mix of noise. I think I have mine pretty much dialed-in at this point :D
It just such a different thing than anything else out there. The interactions you can have while riding is something you can't plan or make up. but to succeed at it. idk.. thats up to whatever your goals are.
Like I always say one camera One mic if people want to watch that's great if not that's okay too, and it absolutely is the hardest niche on RUclips , wind noise cameras editing it's not easy , And I still don't think it's dead , Great video 😎👍👍
Shame. It's not [at least in my opinion] and SD cards aren't THAT cheap - a 256gb card for a GoPro is like $40. And it'll hold 5 hours of 4k/30 footage.
It is hard! The testing is real. I'm learning what to capture... and what not to capture. I have 4 rides from this summer captured. Working on the edit is a bit overwhelming, but I'm having fun trying! Someday... I'll post. Haha!
You got the right idea - and finding out how to record to your editing style is a big factor in being able to put out videos consistently and without a ton of hours in the edit... good luck!

All of us need an aspirin and a nap!🤣🤣It never occurred to me how much noise you have to cancel out to be as clear as you are. Hey, dude. Maybe we like grainy, moving pictures in the background. You don't know.😆 I'm considering trying some cameras motovloggers use because I do a lot of moving when recording. I've checked out your links, but still haven't made up my mind.
LOL, so true - the nap sounds good right about now. As for the wind noise - I have way more to deal with than most, since I use a half helmet... but it's still an issue. As for using an action camera, go for it - the stabilization is awesome on the newer ones! You can outfit them with cages, mics, tripods/selfie sticks - you'll just miss out on the blurry background with most of them [as compared to a high-end phone or dedicated camera]
