I would really like to see Bitwig implement a suite of creative midi tools. Something similar to the scripts available in Falcon now for the various sequencers. If Bitwig could open it up so people could script their own midi tools that would be immense too
God I would love that too. It would be totally on Brand
Isn’t note grid for it?
But there is controller API already where you can create and manipulate MIDI clips.
there are like 30 note devices
I really love how Bitwig keeps Linux users in mind, and it's the reason I've been with Bitwig since version 1.0. Even if I wasn't a linux user, I'd still use Bitwig as it really seemed like they continue to impress me as a former Ableton user.
It's really cool to hear what Dave has to say, Although I respect Bitwig's devs low profile behavior, I'd love to hear more from people involved with it.
At the end of the day a DAW is to maniuplate audio and to make music. Bitwig does this well, there's no need to think about what to try first or etc, Dave said it right, just make some music. It's probably why a lot of electronic musicians fail because they spend too much time playing around with stuff instead of working on their compositions. I'm excited for the future of Bitwig and love what it allows me to do.
Interesting stuff starts at 14:45 :)
interesting stuff starts at 0:00 ;)
@@synthanatomy I'm not really excited about new compressors or EQs and I know many people aren't as well.
But I get what you mean :D
@@Artek604 so you are happy that it's just a .2 update than a 6.0 ;)
@@synthanatomy It doesn't really matter with Bitwig, because upgrade plan covers 12 months, irrespective of whether it's a 5.x or 6.0
you seems really invested into bitwig for someone who isn’t using it anymore lol
when is ARA2 upgrade?
Can’t wait for the update!
looks like a very solid update :)
I hope they darken the arrange window. I can't believe this is has not been implemented
Yeah !! Great interview! Dave Linnenbank should talk for 4 hours on every new Bitwig version. That would solve so many questions of undocumented features. Thank you so much! I would volontarily play the question asking person 🌻 :)
Worst midi piano roll editor of any daw on the market today. Instead of making Pultec clones, give us amazing midi editing and automation tools.
Want to create something new and interesting start making fking daw and stop spitting out those plugging users already have. Give users a daw to f sake.
Bitwig already grate for generative crap. Yes it is the “most creative daw”. Enough of this. Give finally users tools to do the job.
About this plugins I bet you that people who use the program to do an actual job ain’t going to look at them. Just like spectral suite. The last time I have seen them in your own promotional material. Never used them or seen users actually use them for getting job done.
PS I like interviewer asking correct question (are people going to actually use them). But this guy fail to give the right answer. His answer must be “we wanted them for us. For fiddling with 4 track crappy tunes we make just like the one you hear. We make the daw for us and don’t care about end users”.
Be happy there is choice. If you want to go in and use Bitwig, just go in and write music, it's really not that hard and it has all the tools to take all music from start to finish as well as any other DAW. Let them follow their path it's what has led us to have 10 years of a DAW that feels different.
