this is an absolutely fucking brilliant song. the album is spectacular. it sounds like the best of mid 70's psych-folk but there is no need to compare it to any other bands because it stands alone as a reminiscent yet fresh and original sound.
Ben Burton So very well said. Yes. JW is pretty close to it, for me, musically. Every record he puts out is brilliant. At least to my mind they are. And then there’s his touring with Tom a Petty, producing music by Roger Waters and having killer (people in the know might call it legendary) Laurel Canyon parties. Crosby and Nash stopping over to jam. I mean...wow! 🤙🏼❤️🌞
This song began playing on the NPR station while my son screamed in his car seat. He suddenly stopped crying, then began to cry again when it ended. So I took note of this but dismissed it as a fluke. Since then when we drive (he hates being in the car seat) I play it on repeat and he will stay calm. When I stop playing it he freaks out again. So, who cares what I think of this song? My 15 week old apparently loves it!! Thank you!!
First 0:54 seconds is irrelevant (CUT!), indicative of a drug problem, annoying, unnecessary, and maybe stop trying to be trippy Kanye West white guy or whatever, but rest of song good

Was delighted to see Jonathan on stage with Roger Water on the Us And Them Tour. Did not expect anything less from Waters, and wasn’t dissapointed by Jonthan’s performance. And that 70’s vibe is so delighful and brings a warm wind of change in this utterly fucked up time in history. Peace
This song/album helped guide me through my stoned haze of the last couple of years of high school. Would've been such an awful time, had I not some vague sense of the mystic awe of nature.
Wow - strange freaky video. It reminds me somehow of Carlos Castaneda's shamanic experiences. Wonderfully creative stuff, with some fine influences such as early Pink Floyd, America, Eagles, Gillian Welch (in my estimation)! The music has a valuable spiritual meaningfulness and humility. It is greatly adding to the quality of my Springtime 2012 experience, here in the UK. Thank you, Jonathan and friends!
Wow that's cool. I saw him open for Wilco after his first record Gentle Spirit had come out. This song instantly grabbed my intention. Wilco's Pat Sansone played the acoustic rhythm guitar on it.
Wow.. This man's work is a gold mine. I just found out about him yesterday. It's good to have friends from around the world online that share a great span of music tastes when gems like this get linked. Thanks, Kim.

Desert Raven is in the soundtrack around 28 mins for a brief time, then again in the background- so impactful I became a Jonathan Wilson fanatic. Weirdly, but thankfully, heard it on Gaga's flick, because I'm not usually a pop fan!
There was that guy before the Tom Petty concert. Usually I am not into pre-concerts, because a) it is totally different music or b) it sucks big time. But the few times it gets interesting are very scarse. This guy Jonathan Wilson totally surprised me. His performance was the perfect warming up. Thank you for introducing me to Jonathan!!!!
Jonathan Wilson, I will be forever grateful for this song. This masterpiece saved me from the psychic torture, desert raven flew to save me from the evil entity which made an attempt at the height of DMT trip.

@mikeb3yeah True. It also brings Neil Young's "Down By The River" in mind. Jonathan Wilson channels his influences with respect and creativity. He is perhaps one of the greatest music artists of our time.
Pretty decent this really ! an extremely talented guy + the man seems to have or have access to a stupifying collection of some of the coolest vintage music making/recording tools on the planet.

Yep. So calming. I hear early 'Albatross' - Fleetwood Mac.

Spirits held desire
While my eyes they did admire
The evening that we only thought we knew
Further out to see
I heard the birds wings over me
The vibrations in the air through my ears

The raven who flies through the desert sky

The birds have a peace

And the desert raven he has poetry
Close your eyes and fly to let the diamonds make the night
Crystal blue will turn to ruby red
The plants become a maze under the heavens starry hazel
