Great work! I love domes and have mounted a couple with the build with hubs system. I'm curious. Have you tried to loosen all the metric screws with the butterfly nut on all the connectors to make them fit the leveled poles? I think there is some flexibility on the construction and you can compensate it
Thanks for your reply! Yes, we have tried that, or rather: all those screws were initially loose when we determined the position of the poles and also when placing the dome on top of the pole. That was probably what caused the problem in the first place; the dome was still flexible in both situations, and that may have caused the sleight difference in position of the sticks. We followed the instruction manual, which told us to only screw the butterly nuts at the very end. Luckily, it wasn't the biggest difference, but I suppose you could screw all the nuts tight before you determine the position of the poles/base.
@@atthegrassroots thanks for the answer! And what about pressing (burying) down the poles which were higher? As opposed to use the spacers to gain height on the lower ones
@@davidgruty I suppose you could do that, but you´ll run the risk of hammering the poles too deep into the ground, having to compensate at other poles. In such a situation I think it's better to fill up the gaps because you'll know the other poles stay at the correct height.
