Generally shorter people have better agility while taller people have greater top speed but in volleyball top speed is never reached while youre constantly reaching the upper end of your agility. It makes sense for him to be so much "quicker" than the other players since he can change directions much faster than people much taller than him.
It is gonna be too much fun when there will be a match between little giant and hinata. Both teams have short height, unimaginable jump and quick attack too. I can't wait for season 5 or movie whatever animator present please complete all rest matches.

But that coach is actually right. Hinata have no basic skills that actually important in every game. Hinata is depending his jump and reflect too much and forget about his basic skills. And because of what that coach said, he improved, he can receive better and he can understand the flow of the game that made him a better player.
What make him looks good is because kageyama in it. So that old man is actually right. Hinata only can use quick attack like that because kageyama skill is always spot on. Even his senior cant do it. Someone can give him another quick pass like kageyama tho, but it will come later. And hinata also refined his skill to be better and read the flow and become perfect decoy to people later.
like the 2 above me said.. hinata didn't have other skills other than his jump and speed.. before the camp, his receive sucks, his serve is average while his blocks are based on luck that is until hinata found the skill to analyze the ball and being able to figure out the opposing team's POV
