I enjoy your presentations, and admire your tenacity. I am a 63 year old, one-legged man rebuilding aa 1949 Ford F2 pickup. I am also crippled from an old spinal injury that slows me down. I am in the process of installing a Mustang II front suspension package, then to a Scott's Rear End Suspension package. The work is very slow, and sometimes painful, but I enjoy the challenges and the work. God Speed, friend! God Speed!

Nice! I installed a Mustang II kit in my 1940 Ford back in the 90's. Great system.
I have one of those brand new 65 Mustang convertibles. I am pushing 80 yrs old but have restored and built street machines since the mid 70's. I am also in a wheelchair T-12 L-1 since 1969 due to Vietnam. Its refreshing to see another wheelchair car builder. Getting back to my Mustang. I installed a Quick Performance four link IRS on a nine-inch rearend a little over a year ago. I just bought a complete IFS that I just received two days ago. I should mention that there is no time limit on if I ever finish this car. It's the last car I ever plan to build. If I die my son will see it completed. If the Good Lord gives me time and I finish it than I'll start on something else. Tomorrow I will begin to start on my IFS. Good luck with your project even though its two years later. Make sure you take care of your health. You can see my four link IRS if you type in 11B it will come up.

Great video. If I wasn't selling my '51 I would definitely use the Chassis Eng Inc subframe. It looks like it would be a huge time saver with zero chance of error

I just wanted to say thank you for these videos! Man you are such an inspiration. I just recently moved to where I have the opportunity to work on my 53 that I acquired from my grandpa, before he passed from cancer. It has been travelling around with me on trailers and I guess the excuse was I’ve never really had a place to work on it yet. It’s been sitting behind one of my dads friends shops for a couple years now while I’ve been back and forth for work. As soon as I found your channel a couple weeks back I got super stoked to start working on my car even though it’s not the best conditions. (Winter time here in Canada and my garage isn’t heated) Fast forward to today. I got the front clip off, motor and trans came out today and now I’m just waiting on my tax return to order up the mustang 2 kit. I honestly would not be able to sit back and look at my progress of it weren’t for you and your videos. Thanks man! Keep on keeping on brother 🤘

Just found a whole mustang 2 front end for free on Marketplace. Its going into a Geo Metro... guess I'm putting a 302 into that little tin can 🤣. Two of the slowest and most disappointing cars grafted together to run 9s is my vision. With you're inspiration I won't let an achey back slow this build down. Its definitely the biggest project I've ever undertaken, but if I dont finish then it all these parts are going to the scrap yard and all is lost! I like how you're not over complicating things.

So is the centerline of the top hat spring perch and crossmember the same or are the top hats offset ? Not centered?

I have an early Mustang II with the single lower control arm and bad bump-steer starting at 25 mph. Wants to pitch the car into on coming traffic. Do the steering rack tie rods need to run parallel with the lower control arm when car is parked? Which it does not. If I feather the throttle it will smooth out and I can take it on the freeway but the second I hit the throttle bit hard it gets very scary. Would love some input from anyone that knows what I might need to do. Just cruising the car goes straight like it’s aligned but has not been on a rack and checked yet.

I'm installing a mustang front end on my 1954 chevy too, what i want to know is from the front bumper hole, to the upper hat is 13 1/4 if i'm wrong, can you please tell me because I dont have any instructions.

You remind me of a guy I knew in Minnesota. He was also in a chair and did some amazing work on vehicles. He had a really hot Grand National and a pickup. I remember a mutual friend found him laying under the pickup one day wrestling a transmission.

Great Video, I’m working on a 53 BelAir Hardtop. Not doing the front end, but literally everything else. Installed a SB 350 Engine and Trans, 83 Z-28 rear end with disc brakes. Replaced all Floor Pans, so it has 4Wheel Disc Brakes. At very close to 12K invested, had all the Chrome work re-done. I’m just tired, thinkin I may just cut it loose. Get to feeling that way sometimes. Make someone a Sweet Car.

Got a part number for the speedway kit?
Hey Brother I have a question - are all these Mustang 2 kits compatible? For example, if I wanted to use the same heidts cross member, or the speedway crossmember, but then install CPP’s mustang 2 control arms, can I do that?
Possibly. CPP or Speedway would know for sure. I opted to go with the Heidt's crossmember and control arms. spindles, rotors, brakes, etc were speedway, and were compatible with the Heidt's stuff. but I would say contact them to get the final answer. hope that helps!

The mustang 2 front end should be a big upgrade compared to the factory suspension are you going to run the Holley sniper efi in this car

This may be a stupid question but what make and model is a good welder?
not a stupid question at all! that's how we learn... I currently have a Miller 211 and I love it. previously I had a Craftsman professional mig. I've heard good things about the Eastwood Mig 135. I have the Eastwood Tig 200 and it's great! I haven't used any of the Harbor Freight/Vulcan welders, maybe others can weigh in... every welder has its quirks, so you'll want to focus on making good welds, good penetration with any welder you get. I'd say get the best one your budget allows... hope that helps. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!
**QUESTION!!!** What welder are you using, also are you using gas??
im welding my entire front end with 90 amp flux core welder.
I'm using a miller 211 on 220V, shielded with CO2/Argon gas. not sure 90 amp flux core will work. it's a CRITICAL part of your car, so if you are at all iffy, I would consult a local welder in your area.
you inspire me to get my 37 Chevy going and do as much of the work as I can. I have a question if you can happen to know the answer I appreciate it. I've seen some frames with the mustang II kit have the frame notched where the power rack goes. is that needed for lowering the car more ?
@OCGGVENOM dude that's awesome!! I think whether you need to notch the frame for the power rack depends on the car you're putting it in. I didn't have to on my 54 chevy bel air, but my buddy did one on a 50 chevy pickup, and he did have to notch the frame... my best guess is it had to do with the shape of the frame, not so much with lowering it. hope that helps

When I was a 7 year old, my father bought a used '54 Chevy. It was a real piece of crap, it would breakdown frequently and I absolutely hated that car because I was scared of it killing us! One day I was playing with my drawing kit (the kind of play thing you give kids to keep them quiet while riding in the back seat with 4 other sibs) and I decided to stick the cigar shaped paper 'smudger' into the cigarette lighter in the back of the front seat - I set the car on fire and that was the end of our Grampy!
When your line is 1/4 thick,2 lines is a 1/2. Use a scribe line much nicer.
