- European summer isn't just about Italy and the Greek Islands. Some of the best places I went were in Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Hungary.

So much thank you for this video! You mentioned here all my go to places like read my my mind😂❤
This is great! We’re doing this in May so will definitely hit you up for recommendations! 😂
love your Aussie accent!!!!💯💯❣❣💥💫💫
Do you have a video of every place you visited during your year?
I do not BUT that's a great idea! I'll make one :)
This is super helpful thank you! I’m planning on doing a year of solo travelling in 2024, so this will be put to use then. I’m planning on doing a week-long trip somewhere at the end of this August to test the solo waters. Any recommendations for a first ever solo destination? Love from 🇨🇦
Awesome! I reckon the best place to start solo travelling is in big cities - in Europe i'd suggest Prague, Budapest, Berlin, Amsterdam, etc. Maybe even Mexico city if that's closer for you! Stay at a hostel (even if its a private room) and do a walking tour - they're a v good way to meet people
One of my first solo trips was a G Adventures tour in Costa Rica which was a great way to ease into it.
@@JourneyWithJemima Thank you! A bigger city does seem less intimidating. Never considered Mexico City but that's a good idea, I wouldn't even get jet lag 😛
I've been considering a G Adventures tour for my first trip (at least for part of it) so I have some sort of adult supervision while I'm figuring myself out lol
@@Drewbydrew Yep when i was in my early 20s I did a bunch of G adventures trips, i can really vouch for them!
Hey, I'm from Belgium and went to Vienna for my first solo trip. I stayed in a hotel so as not to be overwhelmed. I was only there for 5 days and on my last day I really missed talking to people. I spoke to another traveller at the bus stop for like a minute and it made my day lol, I'm definitely staying in hostels next time.
this video came at the perfect time for me WOW!! i’m going next april/ may so not quite summer but was debating going to albania, budapest, amsterdam, possibly romania as well!! i was nervous because it would be my first longer/ solo trip but you have made me look into some of the other balkan countries i was overlooking! do you think it would be worth it to go to albania while it is a little colder?
i would 100% love all your europe recs btw!!!
perfect timing! I think albania will still be beautiful in April! it'll be colder for sure but still just as stunning especially if you're in the city and the mountains. Romania is awesome, i went there in winter and loved it, really wanna go back when its warmer!
@@JourneyWithJemima ooo perfect!! where did you go in Romania/ what are some must see places or experiences there??
@@txdave i did a few days in the capital bucharest, and a few in Brasov, which is where you can see Dracula's castle. I've heard there's good hiking there, but i was there in December and it was too cold. Bulgaria is also awesome, i only went to Sofia but I loved it!
@@JourneyWithJemima Thanks so much! This makes me so excited!!!
Flying to Slovakia in April/May. Don’t have very much of a plan outside of hiking in the mountains and starting to learn the language. Many of the towns I plan to visit are very small, so hostels aren’t much of an option. I’m guessing I need more of a plan in terms of Airbnb’s.
I can really really recommend the Ginger Monkey hostel in Zdair, in the slovakian mountains. I went for a few days and stayed longer than a week I loved it so much.
@@JourneyWithJemima this comment opened up my eyes to what available in northern Slovakia. I researched a hostile site that I only showed 10 of them in the entire country! Thanks! Now, Apple Maps is giving me all kinds of options. It would be nice to spend a week exploring an entire area rather than moving from place to place each day
