Still one of the scariest movies ever made and one of my favorite movies/favorite horror movies of all time. Iconic direction, great writing, fantastic characters and very tension filled moments and the score is great.

Nice job as always. I agree the Exorcist is still one of the scariest movies ever made. I'm planning to do a video on the exorcist for this Halloween as a special. Also, I met Linda Blair years ago. I met her because my friend loves The Exorcist not just his favorite Horror movies it's his Favorite movie for him. My dad's cousin knows Linda Blair personally and are friends. I got my friend a signed autograph of Linda Blair for him as a thank you gift for all the help he did for me when I was in college. Whenever I go back to rewatch the Exorcist I think on faith and how even religion has its pros and cons and even religion can fail sometimes. Father Karras is the highlight of the movie interesting character. The exorcism scenes still can scare me sometime or when Reagen gets possessed.

Answers to some of your questions: She gets possessed by the demon the statue at the beginning of the represents. Also it's the same demon the old priest has fought before in a previous Exorcism. (The demon calls his name on the tape and when he enters the house) we also see that statue behind Regan on the bed at one point.
Regan looking at the priest's collar, for me shows she remembers the good the other priest did. She kisses him as a thank you.
The mom doesn't believe it's a demon at first, because she's not a believer in God.

I will say I enjoyed the movie and I fully understand why it's considered the scariest movie ever. However, I can't say I feel the same way. It's good and does a lot right but it's a top 10 for me
