Extremely heartbreaking, the murder of Police Officer Fayaz. May Officer Adeed Fayaz Rest In Eternal Peace. It's really wonderful to see his family and friends come together to remember this amazing person. Police Officer Fayaz was well loved, husband, father, friend and protector. What a tragic loss.

Although the state of New York got rid of Capital Punishment in 2004 the Federal Court can still sentence New Yorkers to death if their crime justifies for the person to be put to death , I think in this case the suspect should get the death penalty and the NYPD SERT be the ones to kill him by firing squad.

Wow the body preparation, funeral arrangements and burial all happened super fast , for everyone else which aren't first responders funeral preparations take a long time not within a day after the individual dies. The suspect that killed him should have been forced to attend the funeral and witness in person what heartbreak he caused for the family and also for this fellow officers at the police department.
In the Muslim World, the Person Has to be prepared and buried as fast as just possible. Here in Germany at least, the body goes to a mosque where He gets ritually washed and then they put him into a coffin. The coffin gets "sealed" with a sort of muslim cloth (Hard to explain, contains a prayer), and then they Do this prayer at the mosque togethrr with the community and all his Family and friends. And then He Has to be buried. I'm half turkish half german, my grandfather passed away 2 years ago. That Was the First time I had to witness the whole Procedure. Kinda Hard whole you mourn to take care of All the visitors, its like every Single Person Who ever met him comes around to say his condolences and then they stay to mourn with you. It Happened Through the worst time of covid, there were like almost 150 people at my Granddads home. We had to organize some sort of bbq because you cant keep them All inside the building. It was really insane. But also kinda nice to See that so many people were affected by the passing of my Granddad. Long Story short: its a matter of Religion.

There is absolutely no embalming or decorating the body with anything earthly/materialistic. The body is washed, cleaned, and wrapped in a simple shroud, and mundane coffin box, and offered last formal prayers. The coffin, without any extravaganza ceremonies, is carried on shoulders to the final resting place. All attendees participate in laying the body/coffin properly in the earth, and every attendee takes part in covering the body in the dust with their bare hands. Death is the most serious event in Islamic law as the time for one's deeds in this world finally has come and the time to stand before the Almighty for the judgments of his/her deeds. The death ceremony is solemn and simple, and a lot of prayers are offered to the dead for his/her soul's forgiveness.
