Thanks for this tutorial. Just what I was looking for. It took a while before I found this.
No problem Wim! Glad we could help. The best thing you can do to help others find it when they need it is to share/like/subscribe :) Have a good one!
Great video. My only suggestion is not to switch back and forth so much from the screen view to the view of just you on the computer. I think the circle with you in it is adequate for most of the video.
Thanks for the feedback!
Really helpful video... A one stop solution for connections between powerapps and powerautomate❤❤❤
Glad it helped!
Just subscribed! Great video; it will me in my current project. Thank you!
Glad we could help JT!
Thanks for the good example. The visibility is not hight, cannot see the syntax/parameters for the button action, can you maybe write it in the comments?
Hi Jela, I would encourage you to check out the associated blog with this video to see all the snippets! www.bulb.digital/blog/connect-your-power-apps-to-power-automate
what a great man
Sir in new Power Apps their is no such options for select an action also in Power Automate when we declare variable then their is no option for ask from Power apps
can you help me how to do it ?
You're correct. We have it on our list to update this video.
Hopefully that will be coming soon.
Thank you
Clear tutorial bro. GJ
Thanks! We appreciate it.
Thank you; very clear.
Glad it was helpful!
Dear gentlemen, your way of explanation is simply awesome but when i tried from my end i couldn't find that file ,view, action ribbon buttons are not available in my instance . Is there any configuration..?
Krishna, thanks for the great question! Indeed we'll need to refresh the video as Microsoft has deployed changes to Power Apps again, per usual.
The options you're looking for are now located in the property formula (fx) menu / dropdown. From these options you can select from different types of actions and then specific functions. Sadly, even if you have your Flows added to your Canvas App, they don't show up in this menu. So from what I can tell today, you'll have to type the NameOfYourFlow.Run() in the OnSelect property.
@@BulbDigital many many thanks for the reply yes Microsoft did and i found my self ....
@@BulbDigital Thanks that works for me now!
Thanks for this video! I wanted to convert meeting transcript into meeting notes using Power Automate which is AI powered. I saw one video of it on RUclips where he shows how it works however, he hasn't explained the process of to create the workflow. Can you or anyone help me in this regard?
Glad it was helpful! We'll need more information to be helpful.
@@BulbDigital Thanks for your response. I want to convert the Meeting transcript (from Microsoft Team meetings) into meeting summary through Power Automate. I wanted to create a cloud workflow. I tried to create workflow but it was not so efficient. Will you be able to help me in this regard?
Hello, i created an app and 4 flows. Now mu collegues use this flow also… how can i modify it that when you click the account from the person who clicks will be used?
To enable this you'll want to go to the Details page for your flow(s) and check the Run Only users section. Any connections that the flow uses that require a user context will allow you to select an option for "Provided by the run-only user" or the user already associated with the connection. When you choose "provided by the run-only user" the user will be prompted to create a connection the first time, if they have not already done so.
Hi. Thank you for the info! I wanted to know... If I have a form filled out by a customer regarding specific items they would like to purchase and then I want to link the form through power automate to power apps, is that possible? My power apps will be connected to an excel table with details regarding each product. Then I want the customer's answers on the form trigger power apps and display his/her options using powerautomate. Is that possible to create?
Hi Hamnah, unfortunately that won't work in the way you describe. Power Apps are designed for internal/licensed use only, so you won't be able to surface something to an external user via Power Apps. Technically Microsoft would suggest Power Apps Portal/Power Pages, but that is likely overkill for what you need.
My powerapps UI does not match yours. Now how can i apply this video?
The Power Platform is in a perpetual state of change. It's often difficult to keep up with all changes. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the differences you see as the video is several months old now.
It's also possible that your UI is different because of organizational settings or even having certain preview features turned on or off.
Could you make the update version? because the action is already gone and I cannot connect to my flow.
Thanks for the ask. It's on our list of things to do in the near future.
Can this work for Model driven apps? If so, can you show me?
Unfortunately model driven apps aren't able to integrate with Power Automate in this same way as far as we know today.
I tried to apply this to a new command in my form command bar (model driven app) but I can't access the flow for the button, any advice?
This method is not applicable for Model Driven Apps. There are several ways to do this in MDA. One option is to create your flow with a Power Apps trigger action. Then you can trigger a flow from the Flows menu in the ribbon of your model driven app. If you don't like the "Flows" menu, another option is to create a custom command button and use the Patch function (PowerFx) to update a yes/no field on the selected record, then have a flow that is triggered with data verse record modified action with the trigger field in the select columns list and an data filter set to something like trigger field eq true. Then in your flow, remember to set the trigger field back to false.
@@BulbDigital Thanks for the reply!
I am encountering an error when I create the text label for varResponse: varResponse = There is an error in this formula. Try revising the formula and running again.
It's hard to troubleshoot this without a little more info. Sorry for the late response here.
can i set some dynamic content from canvas app on fly? like___ items ()['sharepoint ColumnName']
A little more context would be helpful. You can of course add logic within the OnSelect to pass different values to the Run command. You can also use expressions within the parameter slots in the Run command. You could use an If Else for example to pass a different value based on some condition.
this is now a retired method I think, what the new way please? Thankyou
Much has changed in the Power Apps studio since this video was first posted. It seems like it might be worth making an update.
I had an error on varResponse
Aya, can you give a little more to go on? What error did you get on varResponse? Did you get the error when testing the solution or while walking through the steps?
I don't think this tutorial is very good. You approach it from the wrong side from my POV. No one would usually start in the flow, they would usually build out their app / forms in Power Apps. Quite disappointing.
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!
