Thanks for this video... last time I renewed my Passport was 10 years ago and sadly I can't recall how I've done it. I just know it wasn't this complicated! I can't remember having to create a profile but your video confirmed it that it has to be done. Sad to say I didn't finish, because my Mastercard won't get through, don't know why 🤷🏼♂ I have to go to the bank to solve the issue. I believe last time I just mailed the money together with the application and there was the amount required in Euros lol

For your home address, you should choose the address you currently live at - for me, that's my address in the UK. I live here. The address details don't show up in your passport either way.

I am holding Canadian passport since I was adult which was issued in august 2015. The passport will expire in august 2025. And I have been living in Japan for last 6 years. I am assuming that I can apply for renewal of my passport before it expires. I used your "renew Canadian passport form link, it describes: The passport must have been issued in the last 15 years. I don't understand what exactly this mean. On the other official Canadian website, it also says: You can only renew your Canadian passport if your last passport: - was an adult passport that was issued - when you were at least 16 years old and - within 15 years of the date you apply for your renewal [New] I am not sure, If I qualify for the renewal my passport instead of applying for fresh adult application. Would you mind commenting on it, please?
From my understanding, "If your passport was issued more than 15 years ago, you need to apply for a new passport." The old passports had different requirements. I think you would be fine to renew your passport - just make sure to do it before it expires.

Definitely renew it BEFORE it expires. Once it expires, you have to apply for a new one and that's way more difficult. I renewed mine about 2-3 months before it expired.

I have a few things that are messing me up LIKE yes, it says I can be my own guarantor BUT that someone else must sign the last 4 boxes...so how does that work? And as for a piece of ID to support my identity, what can be used? Am I able to use a Canadian driver's licence? I don't have a lot over here with me. If your passport has expired, you'll need to apply for a new one and cannot renew it. Also if you were a child before, (but aren't now) you'll need to apply for an Adult passport.

Ahh that's really tricky. I've not been in this situation myself. If you got pulled aside at customs because your passport has less than 6 months, you could explain that you're about to renew it from the UK - they'd be able to see you have a UK work visa so it's obvious why you're coming to the UK. If it was me, I'd probably try but I can't say it would work out 😅
Sorry, that's a lie! Last time I came back to the UK from Canada my passport had less than 6 months (I think like 5 months left). Didn't have anyone question it.
Oh no! 😩 I've never been in that situation before, but you'd hope they'd contact you to send your passport rather than just out-right rejecting the application and making you start again. Fingers crossed for you!
Yeah I was worried, too. But send your passport to be renewed with tracking from the post office so you know that they've received it. I didn't travel while I waited to get mine back, mainly because I was working but I also didn't want my new passport left in my mailbox when it was sent back.

How do you travel when you have sent in your passport for renewal???
You can't travel internationally until you hear back - thankfully mine only took 2 weeks.

This only works if you have a valid Adult Canadian passport. If you don't have a passport, you need to apply for one which is a different process.

What do you mean? If you're waiting for your passport to be renewed, you can still travel within that country but not abroad.
