My sincere thanks for these videos.
The GRIII will be my first 'real' camera and it arrives today so I have been reading and watching videos over the last week.
Your 101 series has been my favorite, I have watched all the videos - some twice - as I try to have a basic grasp of what the camera does and how it does it. No doubt I will watch again as I get my sea legs.
I am new to photography but generally technically sound (a nerd, in other words), so I really appreciate that you take the time to explain some of the techie aspects of photography and how they relate to the camera.
Thank you very much, and welcome aboard the GR train. It really is a great camera, but unlike many other great cameras, it’s very easy to take it with you.
Congrats!
This is very useful for quickly understanding the button layout and functions they perform when you first buy the camera.
Hand to heart thankyou you demonstrate and explain gently with no frills many videos ive watched becomes to technical.. im dyslexic but im very good at capturing live in pictures. This camera was a birthday gift to self .. Thankyou
Thank you 🙏🏻
Very helpful - looking forward to the rest of the series
Thank you so much for this. I’ve been searching for a comprehensive intro - setup - user tutorial for some time. Your “right out of the box” approach is much appreciated. I look forward to your future “video manuals “ cheers!
This is perfect. I just ordered a GRIII that is supposed to arrive on Tuesday and I have been looking for good tutorial videos for it but there aren’t very many.
Many thanks for your help with the GRiii. I'm starting to like this camera now! Great tutorials. Looking forward to GR 102. Cheers.
Brilliant tuition. Thankyou. So much easier than the manual … I’m not great with written stuff in manual format. So your gentle leading is brilliant for me. Just working my way through everything … looking forward to the GR journey.
Thanks Sandra :)
Great series, thank you
Good timing, and you’ve added a new subscriber (although I DO watch your videos anyway) as I’ve recently succumbed to the charms and “X” factor of this camera and added a GRIII to my otherwise all SONY suite of cameras.
Soooo….its timely and should prove of value to me to learn more about this unique camera from someone much more familiar with it than I. Thank You.
You’re welcome!
Fantastic, just bought the Gr3x you channel is just what i need thank you
Just in time. Waiting for my Griiix to arrive.
Exciting!
Just bought a GRIII and finished your excellent tutorial on it and now I am quite confident to use the camera....Thank you. My question is what is High/Low key adjustment ? The shadow and highlight adjustment has both + and -. Is + means to show more details on the shadow or just the reverse ? Thank you.
I don't understand High/Low key very well but it seems to be yet another brightness and contrast setting.
Adobe explain it like this:
www.adobe.com/creativecloud/video/discover/low-key-vs-high-key-lighting.html
In my personal custom color and monochrome settings, I use -1 and -2 to darken the obverall image and increase contrast slightly.
Remember David Bowies Life on Mars video... that is a very High Key lighting setup.
Thank you so much, please have more instructional video. !
Hey - great videos. How applicable are these to the original GR, not the GR III? Thanks
Sorry mate, never owned the original :(
Why don't they just use P A S M letters like everyone else! :)
😀
Not everyone. Canon also uses Av/Tv markings, I suppose.
