Being the child of an alcoholic, I tremendously commend Geoff for thinking of Millie in that moment and using it as a motivator for him to quit. Knowing that Millie can and will remember the actions he takes now is seemingly common sense, but you lose all sense of that when you get caught up in an addiction like that.
It didn't help that Griffon took everything. Who's really the victim in that? Regardless of gender. I agree though,I can imagine Geoff had every temptation to just go on a binge and disappear. It takes an iron will to not do that, and I commend him for it.
Feeling myself slip into alcoholism, I'm starting to really look to Geoff as a light in the tunnel. That it can be done. I'll try it soon. Heavily considering pouring all my alcohol out, it's started to damage personal relationships and just yeah. Geoff is inspiring.
@@PlatoonGoon I've had to do that, pour all my alcohol out. Took me all day to do it and had to keep building back up resolve. I hope your doing okay ❤️
i really commend Geoff. Someone in his position and with his past habits would be back drinking again, but he's keeping at being sober. He's a strong geezer
J For Jack I assume the sabbatical and the not drinking we’re because of the divorce. Griffon tweeted they were getting divorced a while ago but took it down fast.
Don't act like you know about their lives or like you have some sort of insight because you watch their content. That isn't the real them, it is a version of them, that they can tailor or edit. I mean you witness like 0.0000005% percent of their time, you don't know them.
Respect for Geoff. Dude went through a tough time and had the willpower and presence of mind to decide to change. Some people aren't as successful at that.
I honestly love Geoff so much. I know, we don't REALLY know them, but especially since he quit drinking I feel like I see a bit of his personality more. Just seeing him smile makes me happy and content.
You know, listening to Bethany talk about how people never took Geoff seriously when he said he was done with drinking is actually really heartbreaking, I remember back in the days of Lets Plays of old when he was talking with the others about how he was done drinking and all they'd say was "Yeah but for how long." Of course I know they were just joking around but you've got to imagine that some of those comments stuck.
For some reason I thought Geoff would be pretty quiet during the Box of Issues section but he was the first to give advice. It was really apparent how mature he is, he's seen and done a lot and he's more intuitive than a lot of people realize, I think. He wasn't loud and crazy like in AH but I didn't really mind. I'm happy he got to be in Always Open.
I've always had this sense that Geoff is just the guy who cares a lot more than he lets on, but he's also had a pretty shitty deal for a good half of his life, so he's gotten all cynical and distant from it. Or maybe having Millie (and the time he spent being married to Griffon) changed him. IDK, I'm probably projecting on him.
I need a Bethany in my life. She literally had Geoff’s back this entire episode and kept telling him she was his friend even when he pushed the notion of friendship aside. And that “I always believed in you” moment. I loved it.
Bethany does seem to be a very honest and up front person and I really admire her for that. She's an incredibly beautiful person and I'm always glad when I get to watch/ listen to her on this show.
Jesus Geoff. As a long time fan I am very proud of him. Also, his story is making me take a look at my life. Thank you Geoff, for being a personal inspiration.
Nightman Jones it's kind of hard to schedule him because this show is at 1 and the RT Podcast is at 12 and that's around the time the Let's Plays are recorded.
Luis El Wicho Ramirez Uh, ok. Thanks for the notes. I wasn't surprised or questioning about his appearance on this show. I was simply happy that I finally heard his reason for quitting alcohol and inspired by his story. I've lost my whole family since September and booze has been my best friend. Maybe it shouldn't be...
Booze, while mostly delicious and helpful in social situations is a depressant. This means that chemically it causes a release of hormones that make you feel 'less than' in a sense. When imbibed you may lose inhibitions, but this also connects to your ability to view things objectively. I have unfortunately focused on the negatives many times while drunk (including now re: previous relationships) and this negativity has been linked to alcohol by scientific reports (no links guys, cbf) Basically alcohol is great as dutch courage or to loosen up a bit, but that's about all it is good for. Drinking alone is a symptom of alcoholism and you should try to avoid it, only have a couple when with friends to have fun and alcohol can be a friend. Just don't abuse this friend because it can do much worse to you. I am sorry to hear about your family, I have no idea what that is like and hope I never do, but if you ever want to talk, feel free to contact me :) I'm online almost every day for a bit at least and am more than willing to help a fellow person out :)
24:25 is where i honestly get to see what geoff went through on a daily basis while creating content for us. Even though he was probably drunk for most of the AH and Lets Play content that came out it just goes to show how smart he actually is. I love this dude. Been a fan of AH since i was in 8th grade. )I am now a junior in College) This guy is honestly one of the few good people that sits in front of the camera and makes great content.
I know it's late, but my mom is an alcoholic, and being a sixteen year-old and trying to convince everyone that my mom had a problem was so stressful and painful I had to move out. I was taking drinks from her, drinking them so she didn't, draining the house, and telling her that she wasn't allowed to drink while we were out. It ruined my relationship with my mother, so the fact that Geoff realized he had a problem and tried to fix it is so admirable and commendable.
Happy two year anniversary for being sober, Geoff! You made a really hard change for your own sake as well as for your daughter’s, and I know that she is as proud of you as all of us are ❤️
Geoff is a real actual hero and a great human being, he is one of the people i have looked up to in my youth and continue to look up to as i grow older. While my wild drinking years are past me its still good to stop and think about what im doing when i do drink. thank you Geoff for letting us into your life for so many years
Saw this yesterday already on RT site and loved having Geoff on with Barb and Bethany and Mariel. Well theyre all awesome but especially this episode I loved the perspectives and honest advice given.
Them getting divorced isn’t really surprising no offense. I mean she spent as much time as possible away from her kid and him for the last two years. You could always see how much it bothered him when anyone would bring up how far away she had been for long periods of time. I’m glad He’s happy and treating himself better because he’s a good dude and I wish he didn’t feel low enough in general to get to the point where it really took a toll on him. I wish them both the best. I hope Millie’s okay too.
I wouldn't think too much about it. We don't know the whole story, and it'd be rude to assume anything about their relationship. They'll tell us what happened when they're ready, or maybe the won't. This is their personal life, and it's their privacy we must put first.
I assumed it was simply because they are both so busy doing their own things (Geoff with RT and Griffin with chainsaw carving and other art) that it just wasn't an actual relationship anymore, so it was beneficial to both parties to stop the struggle of trying to stay close when work was pulling them apart. It is an unfortunate part of modern society that sometimes work has to take priority. Just my opinion.
I understand people siding with Geoff as we see him more and he’s more popular but let’s be honest, if the roles where reversed so would the comments be, we don’t know the full story other then that it wasn’t working, please don’t blame this on griffon
Probably one of my favorite episodes yet. I love how open Geoff was and the jokes mixed with hard reality were perfect. Not to mention I love his advice. I wish he'd come on more often
Just so you know, this episode’s laughter is helping me get through my 3 day back to back 4 hour finals. You are all amazing people and I wish I had more time to watch every video
Bought my house last year at 21, i like how you guys see that as a positive. For me it's hard working all the time but appreciative of the opportunities it's provided me to start early to better myself. Keep killing it peoples
I love that they had Geoff in this episode. Its nice to see a different dynamic on the show. I really hope to see this cast again some time. Best wishes to all of you guys
I love the Box of Issues segments! I feel a lot of the situations, while unique to the individuals, share themes with common predicaments, so it's nice to have perspective.
Do they have a 'It's Always Open in Austin Texas' shirt? Or just Austin. With the same font as its 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' because if they don't there's an idea.
Rogue Klein I was thinking that too after I posted the comment. :/ I think some fonts are copyrighted? But I doubt Sunny is one of them unless they did it in later years.
Cool they Finally got Geoff on xD 23:32 OMFG thank you BARB for that! I always say we've got such a short amount of time on this planet so ENJOY IT! I do love having a nice pair of abs but like she said if I'm in Italy or Rome where the food is incredibly Delicious and I don't have a photoshoot coming up, I'm feasting like a Saiyan the whole trip. If I'm only there 3 days thats not gonna hurt me in the long run, its like eating bad once a week wont hurt you, just like eating good once a week won't help you, its the consistency that counts and if I eat healthy and clean the majority of the year 3 days of pigging out wont hurt whatsoever haha I think its important to live the best you can while you can, before the good ol days become JUST the good ol days
The sobriety anecdote about Geoff really resonate with me since my father used to have a drinking problem before i was born and he is the greatest role model in my life.
The got Geoff... Now they just have to get Joel on the show, and this will be the perfect show. The Joel episode "I don't wanna talk about it... BANANAS! "
As a person with a chronic illness I can’t tell you how much it means to hear that people understand. Hopefully if I’m able to find a way to save for RTX I can tell you all this in person. For now, all I can say is Thank You
previously i have made negative comments towards this show however after watching this one i feel like this show is better than i actually thought the women seem to be quite understanding in talking about problems. was nice to hear.
I would suggest going back and watching previous episodes. This one was good because of the double box of issues, but they are always genuine when answering people's questions which is great.
no i watched episode 1 and 13 i think and both of them i didn't find very entertaining gave this one a try for geoff and was pleasantly surprised, i even said 'after watching this one' implying i watched ones previously.
I've slowly been migrating from Off Topic to the Always Open podcasts, probably about 50/50 at this point but I just really like this podcast. Thanks gals! + Goeff
I'm only young now, but I always think of myself older than I am. I always thought my friends to be inappropriate and I relate to a lot of older people rather than younger people. I don't plan on drinking when I am older, but you never know. Geoff is truly an inspiration to many people and I sincerely enjoy his more timid behaviour.
that guy wanting to end the friendship sounds like me...my Ex keeps trying to friend me on discord and Facebook and even tries calling and texting me but I try my best to ignore it all and I even snapped at her saying to stop and I told her the more contact we have the harder it is to get over her luckily now we have 0 contact
As someone who religiously watches RT and AH content, I didn't realise Geoff's alcoholism was that bad. He said he's spoken about it on podcasts - can anyway send me links to them?
So, my boyfriend got me into Rooster Teeth. I started off with only watching the animations and Always Open.. And I never really understood why people liked Geoff (not because I disliked him, he just wasn't my cup of tea). I see now why people love him, though. He reminds me a lot of my in-laws (who I deeply care for) in his mannerisms and the things he says. I hope he has a lot of love and support surrounding him. Side note: RT should start an "Ask Geoff Anything" series. Or something like that. He's really lovable and I think that'd be something I'd absolutely watch! IF IT'S A THING, MAYBE HE COULD HAVE GUESTS ON THE ADVICE SHOW LIKE... GUS OR MILES AHHHHHH. I'd watch that.
I don't know about everybody else but I want Geoff back on Always open. I like the insight and humor he brings, he may not admit it but he does inspire people to better themselves.
as someone who lives with Cystic Fibrosis everyday, is feels good to see healthy people admit that they take their health for granted and that they are aware of how great their lives are because they are healthy. in my own experiences, most people never realize how difficult life is when you take something as simple as breathing away from your lungs. Also, if any of you smoke. Don't!
Being the child of an alcoholic, I tremendously commend Geoff for thinking of Millie in that moment and using it as a motivator for him to quit. And he looks great too!
I really wish Geoff would do more of these hes so interesting + so effortlessly carries on the conversation
Megans Average Gaming he's very much a people person
MsPeefer yeah hes always seemed to be very open minded and not judgemental seems very easy to talk to
pretty judgmental but very open minded. lovin geoff more than ever
Yes I've always loved Geoff, he's such a cool guy!
Guess you could say he is always open minded
Respect for Geoff. Dude went through a tough time and had the willpower and presence of mind to decide to change. Some people aren't as successful at that.
Yep, he's getting better at not throwing chicken eggs
Geoff is a new man. He went from drinking to becoming a chicken farmer.
Marc Austin he is a simple farmer now adays
and single too
kia V is he actually single?
Seems like he should get on that single farmer dating website. Lol
I honestly love Geoff so much. I know, we don't REALLY know them, but especially since he quit drinking I feel like I see a bit of his personality more. Just seeing him smile makes me happy and content.

Bethany does seem to be a very honest and up front person and I really admire her for that. She's an incredibly beautiful person and I'm always glad when I get to watch/ listen to her on this show.
It's like a whole new Geoff. Geoff Ramsey 2: Electric Boogaloo
Eric Meyer this Geoffrey Lazer Ramsey has more headlight fluid and wiper juice
Geoff on this episode was the greatest, he’s so humble about everything.
It's so easy to forget when watching AH, but Geoff is actually really smart and has good advice and a good view on life. Just really cool
I'm really glad they had Geoff on the show, also did anyone else notice Barbara's sick jacket she had on?
The End
Yeah dude!
I'm really proud of Geoff for stopping cold turkey on the drinking. I'm REALLY really proud of him.
I came for the sole reason that Geoff was included
Dude chill it’s no nut November

What happened to Geoff??
20 Dollar Gold Piece he and Griffon filed for a divorce
20 Dollar Gold Piece he accidentally killed some of his chickens by throwing the egg instead of putting it safely on the nest.
Joel Vite oh
Arkham Doge
This killed me, I don't know if it was because it was that funny, or because this show was just making me yearn for any sort of humor.
Bethany honestly gives off the vibe of a really supportive guidance counselor.
Also Geoff starts talking about the turning point of his sobriety at 25:00
Geoff needs to be on again. No other way around it, that man needs to be on again and Michael Jones needs to be on here at some point.
yes michael needs to return
I love how quickly Geoff shut down Bethany when she said "trust a womens intuition" and Geoff said "or just intuition"
Geoff on always open is all I needed in my life
I love listening to Geoff just talk about life and crazy life situation...
Happy two year anniversary for being sober, Geoff! You made a really hard change for your own sake as well as for your daughter’s, and I know that she is as proud of you as all of us are ❤️
I can relate to so many things in geoff's life. love hearing him talk, makes me feel like theres a light at the end of the dark tunnel
Last time i was this early geoff was still on a sabbatical
Lul
that was pretty good
and married
Last time I was this early Geoff still ran achievement hunter
SPARCS XIII he still does just not directly
Geoff is a real actual hero and a great human being, he is one of the people i have looked up to in my youth and continue to look up to as i grow older. While my wild drinking years are past me its still good to stop and think about what im doing when i do drink. thank you Geoff for letting us into your life for so many years
Saw this yesterday already on RT site and loved having Geoff on with Barb and Bethany and Mariel. Well theyre all awesome but especially this episode I loved the perspectives and honest advice given.
THE DIRTY TAMPON "It was on my pillow" "OH That'ssss wherre I left it :)))" IM LOSING IT
I feel for Geoff and Bethany. Two very strong individuals
I love when Barb opens up the Box of Issue question that’s some quality paper noises
I hope Millie’s okay too.
bo jenkins what do you mean as far away as possible?
I wouldn't think too much about it. We don't know the whole story, and it'd be rude to assume anything about their relationship. They'll tell us what happened when they're ready, or maybe the won't. This is their personal life, and it's their privacy we must put first.

y'all i'm soooooo heckin proud of geoff he's doing so amazing and trying so hard to be at his best all the time i appreciate him so much
3:19 this moment is in the Sugar Pine 7 video called "Fired From Rooster Teeth, Part II, at 4:45, little treat
JarJarBlocks Yeah, I came for that reason only hoping they would get mentioned. At 4:12 you could see Barbara’s reaction to seeing them though haha.
Geoff on this made this the best always open ever. No matter whoever he is on camera with, he has a nack of having perfect chemistry with them.
I love Geoff, he seems like a really nice person!
Kimberly Hazellief he is! He's very intelligent, humble, and gives good advice too
I love how all the comments are geoff:)
It's great to see Geoff smiling. Best of luck to him
Probably one of my favorite episodes yet. I love how open Geoff was and the jokes mixed with hard reality were perfect. Not to mention I love his advice. I wish he'd come on more often
i like sober geoff, i liked drunk geoff but sober is way better
Please have Michael on
I would love to see his contributions
Geoff's feminine side coupled with his ability to basically insert himself as a female in the conversation is incredulous and amazing
Ryan Moore Does gracefully conversing with women make it feminine? No. Just folk talking.
Geoff is my waifu
Barb be looking fine
When doesn't she though 😏
Barb? That’s a weird way to spell Geoff...
Always Open Episode 51 Barbara is on my no-fly list, because she looks like a bombshell
Mumbo Elite They all look fine. Mariel looks amazing lately.

I click for geoff :)
I love that they had Geoff in this episode. Its nice to see a different dynamic on the show. I really hope to see this cast again some time. Best wishes to all of you guys
I love the Box of Issues segments! I feel a lot of the situations, while unique to the individuals, share themes with common predicaments, so it's nice to have perspective.
soo much respect for geoff with the reason he stopped drinking, really shows how good of a dad he is.
I love seeing Geoff on more shows!

wolfsf2012 may be risky. If it's too close to the Always Sunny logo there's legal issues.
Rogue Klein I was thinking that too after I posted the comment. :/ I think some fonts are copyrighted? But I doubt Sunny is one of them unless they did it in later years.
this episode has granted me with a newfound love for geoff
Cool they Finally got Geoff on xD 23:32 OMFG thank you BARB for that! I always say we've got such a short amount of time on this planet so ENJOY IT! Who?
What? Where is this place?
The internet.
I remember watching that episode and being like, "This is kinda weird... Mia is the only one on here that I have seen naked.... "
Of course, here's our fella Geoff
The Achievement Hunter guys are good guests. They always add more to the humor and show while still keeping true to who they are and why we love them.
The sobriety anecdote about Geoff really resonate with me since my father used to have a drinking problem before i was born and he is the greatest role model in my life.
Geoff on Always Open 🤣🤣🤣
Why is it so funny?
The got Geoff...
Now they just have to get Joel on the show, and this will be the perfect show.
The Joel episode "I don't wanna talk about it... BANANAS! "
As a person with a chronic illness I can’t tell you how much it means to hear that people understand. Hopefully if I’m able to find a way to save for RTX I can tell you all this in person. For now, all I can say is Thank You
This was a sweet episode. Jeoff is adorable and the whole group was very connected with one another. Favorite episode for me!
We need a Geoff episode once a season

I've said it before but I want to say it again, Geoff Ramsay is a gem of a human being.
previously i have made negative comments towards this show however after watching this one i feel like this show is better than i actually thought the women seem to be quite understanding in talking about problems. was nice to hear.

Geoff is such an inspiration
I've slowly been migrating from Off Topic to the Always Open podcasts, probably about 50/50 at this point but I just really like this podcast. Thanks gals!

that guy wanting to end the friendship sounds like me...my Ex keeps trying to friend me on discord and Facebook and even tries calling and texting me but I try my best to ignore it all and I even snapped at her saying to stop and I told her the more contact we have the harder it is to get over her luckily now we have 0 contact
"About to give up" is my new favorite insult.
As someone who religiously watches RT and AH content, I didn't realise Geoff's alcoholism was that bad. He said he's spoken about it on podcasts - can anyway send me links to them?
samnoodlethang sorry this isn't more specific, but I would try the off topic just after Geoff went sober. I'm not sure which one it was.
Iakirag 3000 thank you!
Hands down ,this is the most funniest thing I`ve heard in my life . love these people. Salt to the earth
Yo barbs looks fire in black 👌
The anonymous feline part cracked me up good :D
We love you, Geoff! Never forget that!
Great podcast as usual.
Thanks for being awesome everyone.
'ask us anything' is my favorite part of the show honestly. i also love box of issues
Geoff was a great addition to the show, really wish he would be here for more episodes in the future.
as someone who lives with Cystic Fibrosis everyday, is feels good to see healthy people admit that they take their health for granted and that they are aware of how great their lives are because they are healthy. in my own experiences, most people never realize how difficult life is when you take something as simple as breathing away from your lungs. Also, if any of you smoke. Don't!
Geoff is my idol. Such a strong and caring dude. Hope he's doing okay through his current difficult situation.
I'm so in love with Geoff's voice
"Your just 6 months away from giving up" -Geoff Ramsey

Also "You Should sleep with his Dad!" - Geoff Ramsey
Goeff is probably the buest guest they have had.
