Would it be crazy if your own teammates hold kobuko while you econ and sell them all at 3-1 so that the other team cant hold them? And as a small optimization maybe buy up free 1 cost units with extra gold to have better odds for you when you are rolling?

look no offense but the whole reason i started playing TFT instead of league is because i liked how you could be the only factor in your success, not sure why they are trying to introduce a team battle in tft

I think the main point at least to me is that it's a way to do region vs region

Yeah it’s such a weird way to play cause you are still going against your team, it’s almost like if you are in a race and then you trip one of your teammates while also trying to make them win…. Idk the idea is very silly

Variance in team play is lower and usually the better team wins vs individual play with fewer games. A lot of time playing normal tft even if you are the best player you still need to high roll a bit at the top level to win tourneys.
There’s a lot more to think about with team play: making sure you don’t contest each other, deciding what placement your opener should go for - if you have a bad opener playing for 6th and giving prio of items / comps to teammates in better spot, holding enemy team units to improve placement, checking matchup to see if it’s worth making your board weaker to deal less damage to teammates, griefing carousel from opponents / optimizing picks with teammates. Good teams will be able to use their teammates to decrease normal variance you see in individual play. There’s a lot more team aspect to this style than you may think at face value
