Eric! Nikken! Teo! the amount of hype contained in this video is unmeasurable. Hold on I need a count of the number of gems in this edit:
1. Six year Linda flashback / wholesome update
2. Eric returns to the show and looks STRONG
3. Unreal sound / film / project demo that looks like something I would legit watch in a theater (plz use headphones y'all)
4. Some comments from Eric AND Nikken about setting at the European Cup (with legends)
5. Announcement of a climbing film-type project featuring Team Sweden (Emil + Fredrik confirmed) dropping in 3 days (!)
6. Nikken continues to level up as a setter with no discernible ceiling
7. Eric trying hard, sending, and being challenged with projects
8. Teo debuts as cinematographer and nails it
....?! Just so much stoke. Next drop bout to be fire and I'll be here for it. Congrats on setting at the European Cup Nikken! Nice work Teo! I really like how positive and stoked Eric is, and appreciate the clips of him struggling to balance. Just goes to show how dedicated he is to this despite the challenges life has thrown his way. Keep crushing ❤
Routesetting rarely gets the credit it deserves. Good setting is super hard to perfect, especially when you are trying to challenge World Cup Climbers and trying to build excitement and drama for the crowd. They not only direct the climbing movement, aesthetics, and separate atheletes by a thin margin, but also are orchestrating the story arc for the audience. They are consistently trying to gage the atheletes and thread the needle. I cringe every time I see overly critical comments about the setting on a live stream of a competition - often it shows lack of knowledge of what happens behind the curtain. If anyone has a favourite setter (or team of setters) at their local gym, you should thank them for what they do - something somewhere between a blend of art and science, which takes years of experience and intuition. Excited to see the film, hopefully it will be enlightening to many about the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. Also excited to see you climbing in more videos dude, you are looking strong still. Love the bullheadedness to push on with your beta even after you know it's not intended and probably harder, haha. I think we are cut from the same cloth.
100% spot on about the routesetting, they deserve to get multiple film made about them and that job.
There is little understanding about it and less empathy for them when something is" going wrong or they mess up"
So hopefully this can start that conversation:)
Welcome back. Even though I don't know you, I feel like I do from watching your videos over the past 4 years. That being said, I love what you bring to the climbing space. That 4th try was awesome too!
I don't know why but just seeing the clip of Jacky and the other setters reacting live during the comp looked so god damned fun and exciting! Never been to a live IFSC event and maybe they do this already, but I feel like the setters should be highlighted more, introduced to the crowd, get applause and love etc. because they are heroes of the sport. Can't think of any other sport that has this kind of creative and dedicated craftsmanship going into every single event. Can't wait for the full release.
And of course everything about the rest of the video(s) was great. Super stoked to see more!

Also want to say, I've been watching the channel for 6 years (give or take), it's crazy to see the progression of the crew (in film making, climbing, filming/editing, etc.)
I think Eric is the only youtuber I know of that manages to convey all these emotions and almost gets me crying. All the commitment and resilience and passion is truly inspiring. Also very psyched for the next video and possible documentary that would be amazing!

Eric is strong as an ox! I was big like he is a few years back, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that just getting rid of some of the softer parts of my body made me feel much more balanced and coordinated. I am excited for Eric because I think he has more potential for optimizing his kinesthetic abilities than even he realizes. I know this could seem like a backhanded insult, but it's not. I went from lean to slightly chubby before my return to climbing during which I leaned out again. As I leaned out, I felt a fine-grained control of my body return that didn't even know I was missing. This phenomenon might be especially an issue for people like myself and Eric who have a thicker, bulkier musculature. At some point, the muscle with the layer of adipose tissue on top of it seems to really limit one's ability to, for example, maintain a deep and stable lock-off. I should add that this could also be a phenomenon particularly relevant to people who have done most of their climbing while leaner. I have been impressed by the quality of movement some thicker people at my gym have achieved; but they were already thick when they started. Part of the problem I had might stem from having the muscle memory wired in at time when my body was shaped differently. This would apply to Eric as well.

I don't know if you guys realize it or not but your channel has been one of the best climbing documentaries ever made. kind of miss Emil, and Tor. it would be nice to have some cameos, lol.
