Fabulous painting. Have only just found you Turner but have learned a lot already. Hope I can translate some of your skills to help mine. Thank you! Montana looks beautiful too, I am a bit far away for joining your teaching weeks as I am in Southern England but I will be following your vids. Your bold way of painting inspires me, as do your colours.
I’m sure the cold there, is more of a “dry” cold versus the humid cold we have here in MO, or at least I assume it is similar to Colorado cold, which is greatly different than Missouri... I love fly fishing, we wear waders. But your hands still get cold in winter. Lovely painting! You can see the atmosphere and the imminent weather. Great job. Thank you.
Thank you for another outdoor lession! It's unbelievable, how easy your able to paint while it's that cold outside. The character of the painting is energetic, like it would be nothing to wield your brush under that conditions! Thank you, Turner! Even more, for that long demonstration. The longer, the better! Take care and see you next time!
When I worked in the unheated factory, we would cut out the thumb and first 2 fingers on our gloves. It kept our hands warm and we could still work with our hands. Maybe that would help keep your hands warmer.
Brother, you're a tougher man than me! I'm an impressionist, and I do a lot of plein air...but I'm NOT going out into that cold to paint! lol! I'm a sunny spring/summer painter! In Winter, I hide in my studio!!!
Lol… I’ve only done one winter plein air! You’re inspiring me to give it another go this upcoming deep chill time! While I’m not a beginner, I appreciate the reminders of using a variety of textures!! And that you shared your thinking/observation early on about the value shifts between sky/water and snow. Thank you for putting your content out here to be found and enjoyed! I’d LOVE to attend a workshop with you! Do you have a mailing list???
Painting in that flat light is soooo difficult for me...luckily we mostly have SUNNY winter days here in the northern Sierras. winter painting is my favorite time of the year to pleinair paint.! btw..I'm 71 years young.!
Great work Turner, I like these long videos that shows the whole process. I own you an apology, in a previous comment on one of your paintings I incorrectly thought you were using Black it turns out you are using Burnt Umber which in my defence appears black on the video (or is it my eyesight), Colours don't always ring true when not seen in real light, I would love to see your work in the flesh but its a long way to Montana from England. Take care and many thanks for sharing.
thanks! It's funny because in that other video I didn't have any black on the palette, and I do on this one, lol. But no hard feelings! It's true, it's very hard to get the feel of the real color on a video, especially if it isn't a close up shot. But as always, I'm just work in a progress...🤙 thanks for always watching 🙏🙏
Sorry, I had tell you this I was watching this painter paint an she never use a brush I noticed all she had was a piece of cloth to paint. I thought wow that is so cool.
Love watching you paint. You attack the canvas with bravado. Cheers! There was a time I would be out in the snow, cold weather to paint. If I can see a scene that interests me from a window, I will do that. Thanks for your demos. Also like the painting.
All the time I have watched you paint I wondered if u cleanesd your brushes but I learned u don't need to clean them that`s what paper towels are for ..... i`m kidding
I have just discovered you and am blown away !! Love to watch your demonstrations you’re amazing…
That’s was great to watch Turner ! Love the composition .
I love how you attack the canvas- fearless! This painting really conjures up a cold winters day.
thank you so much, Sharron
the experience of you talking a painting into being is a singular joy. 27:51 - the exact moment the water became water to me.
oh man, you're too kind 🙏🙏
I love art I don't judge anybody I just think it's their way of painting . Keep on painting!
I really enjoy your paintings so pretty how u catch colors too

I enjoyed every second. As usual.

It needs a lot of inspiration to go out to paint in snowfall like you do. I would be busy hiding inside blanket watching painting videos.

Great thickness of your oils are so tasty and satisfying to look at , is there a drying secret ??
Какая красота. Супер. 👍👍👍А дождь Вам не мешает.?

Hello, Y'all. Turner, you totally inspire me.....I painted the Texas swamp 18x24 and love it. Question: What kind of medium do you use?

there is no better way to learn a lot than to paint under the snow. and then, when you get old, you have pain everywhere; but it was worth it ! ;)

I love having the water/reflections go off the page in the foreground...sometimes those foreground bushes painters put in block the painting imho.!
thanks!
NIce, as always
Well done.
🙏
I thought you were tough, but you undercut yourself at 0:02 that fisherman is really frickin cray
edit: that was fully addressed lol :p
lol, I'm still a little confused 🤙
Painting in that flat light is soooo difficult for me...luckily we mostly have SUNNY winter days here in the northern Sierras. winter painting is my favorite time of the year to pleinair paint.! btw..I'm 71 years young.!

Turner will you be finishing this in another episode or was it simply a study
Love it regardless
I'm not sure, haven't thought about it, haha! It could certainly use more work, maybe I will record that session as well. thanks!
Love your painting style. Beautiful.
Thank you, Sandra
太喜欢您了,谢谢分享。
Starting out with $0.99 brushes! Gangsta, but you got to use what you find some days.
Wow, that little paintbrush really makes a big difference. Its like a rigger but you can really load the paint on. Its a megga rigger😂😁🏴
haha, yeah, you're right!
the flyfisherman is crazy, but what is he thinking when he sees a guy pitch up with a paintbox , ha ha
Cool beans. 👍👍
🙏🙏
Hi i haven't painted in 30 yrs so bear with me please i like ur painting but I can't c what ur painting it would real help me if u could show both ty.
Hi, the scene I’m looking at is actually down in the bottom left corner of the screen. It’s small, but something to reference as I paint.
I'M LEARNING FROM YOU
🙏🙏
Ha ha....being an artist AND a fly fisherman this made me laugh out loud.... If only there were a handy phrase for that.
haha! I have a fly rod and a current license, but I know the rod wouldn't get used if I brought it along, lol !! maybe one day!
Waht percentage of the price of your paintings is paying for wasted paint?
谢谢你,特纳
I really could use the help im not doing so well. But u r help! Lol

Enjoyed watching your painting style and process, I imagine how Vincent Van Gogh would have done it
вы так много краски выдавливаете
For more "color" you may use Bob Ross berviage: "this happy tree is living here".....
yes, yes, this will most definitely help my views!
All the time I have watched you paint I wondered if u cleanesd your brushes but I learned u don't need to clean them that`s what paper towels are for ..... i`m kidding
if you find your self doing to much detail hold back answer the phone some sales men
