Hey Charlie, appreciate the review (from Canada) and sound test for the Z4, been waiting a while for this. Would say this is better or worse than the GR Supra? I've been heavily leaning towards the z4 but the sound system is huge factor for my next car. Also, IIRC there is mod for the supra to fix the bass and reduce vibrations. Also, Thinking between this (Z4 m40i), the manual supra or a TT rs. What would you pick? Thanks from Canada.
I think he gave the Supra a B rating so its prolly a little better than the Z4. With the subwoofer box mods and some sound deadening it should sound p good for a sports car.
Thanks! Yeah I'd give Supra the edge in out-of-the-box sound quality. Maybe you could tweak this Z4 to sound as good, but the placement of the bass in the Supra is enough for me to give it the edge. Hmmm, that's tough to say. I'd probably go Z4 because I'm a big fan of convertibles. But TT RS would probably have the most exciting powertrain and nicest interior. Hmmm man that's a tough one! Let me know what you end up doing with, I'm curious
Would it be possible for DM Sound to review a new BMW with a Harman Kardon sound system equipped with BimmerTech speakers to compare to a stock Harman Kardon system?
While the system sounds bad indeed, you should listen with studio monitoring headphones that sound neutral to hear close to what it sounds in real life
Got the HK in my Z4. It is... horrible. My Mazda's Bose system sounds better. So I gave up on it. Turned off ASD and volume, and just listen to the engine. Much more satisfying.

Wanted the HK in my Z4, because I like the hifi system professional so much in my F10, but it sounds really bad, very strange.
