TJD is shook whenever he plays Rutgers. Has he ever beaten them? He was talking about how excited he was to play them then goes out and lays an egg again. Same with Race Thompson. Surprisingly the only person that came to play was Kopp.

Really get to see how good teams are when conference play begins. You have to play in hostile gyms against teams that have similar athletic skills. Indiana still might be pretty good. Will be tested like yesterday. Win all home games and don't lose too many on the road.
Can't say I'm surprised I knew if we didn't get Davis started early we would be in trouble but give it up t0 ruckers thry are tough at home if they can put it together on the road they will be making some big upsets and makema run in the NCAA tournament
I have massive respect for Rutgers' basketball program, but today was a terrible officiated game. On IUs side: so quick to call charges, and any fouls for TJD. On Rutgers' side: they were the only team allowed to be physical in this game. IUs brand is physical defense, while playing clean. There's something about The RAC that makes referees call in their favor... the louder they are, the more the refs let Rutgers do what they want. It's not because it's a difficult place to play; every game at Assembly Hall is called with earmuffs, as we've seen this season. Bottom line is if you don't call obvious fouls (like the 4pt swing with 2m to go when TJD got racked across the arm down 9) and the freakish flagrant against Xavier Johnson when the review showed it was just an acting job.. there's no way to win on the road in this conference.

I'd like to say I've never seen so many obvious hacks and pushes go uncalled on one team, while the other team is whistled relentlessly for breathing too heavily - but sadly, this is typical Big Ten reffing. There was a stretch of about 10 minute at the beginning of the 2nd half when the refs were _not_ the focus of the game. IU roared back to take the lead, so cue the ticky-tack calls and endless replay reviews.
I find this comment funny considering RUs history. We actually never get the benefit of the whistle so what this tells me, you’re being a sore loser or it could just mean Rutgers is finally getting some respect

In a good game, you hardly notice the refs are there. In a Big Ten game, they're the focal point. It's why I stopped watching Big Ten basketball years ago. I came back this year hoping it would be better. It seems even worse.
This is a bad loss, IU losing to a team they were heavily favored to beat. At the very least, IU needs to win the Big Ten and make it to they Elite 8 this year. Anything less would be underachieving. This was an unacceptable loss!

Refs were horrible. Many foul calls that weren’t fouls and many no calls when there was a foul. Refs were hurting IU all night.
