Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.
I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

Each time you see people standing on a chair people laffing on the project. Ok now we can pass to the next problem, lift will work and train in city ?

Org comms, fantastic! Wish they'd share more specifics. Feels like CIG set expectations with "full interoperability with Spectrum website at Mobiglas" to now some vague mention of a private chat app. Comms are so important to SC they need a roadmap to CIG's vision of comms 1.0

May I take this space to ask a question that is barely related to this video but bothers me for some time now? Maybe you good Citizens of Stanton can assist me. So please hear me out.
Why can't we set a max speed for ground vehicles with the mouse wheel as we can for ships? - Is this feature in planning? And more important, do you people agree that this would be a nice thing to have or is it only me? And Finally, assuming that some of you think the same, how can we let CIG know to make the mouse wheel a part of ground vehicles too?
I would be grateful for any response. Especially those that contain the lottery numbers for next week.

    • @Ficus117

This would be cool for like parades or sneaking up on jumptown. Lower engine output would make it harder to detect with shipborne sensors. I can get behind this.

      Cruise control too

    • @neofromthewarnerbrothersic145
      @neofromthewarnerbrothersic145 2 месяца назад +1

I agree, we should definitely have a speed limiter, and better throttle control in general on ground vehicles. I would assume they're planning to do it eventually, but can't remember hearing anything specific about it from them. Ground vehicles haven't been a very major part of the game up to this point, but they will probably become a lot more important over the next few patches.
For what it's worth, it's a lot better with joysticks. Then you can map forward/reverse to a single axis, instead of having a button for forward and a button for reverse. Still can't set a specific speed limit or cruise control like ships, but does allow you to slowly creep forward if you want to. Helps when you're driving onto a ship's ramp.
You could try mapping forward/reverse to the mouse wheel... and that might actually give you decent control over the speed... but it would be pretty awkward when you have to slow down or stop.
In any case, yeah, ground vehicles still need some love, and I would like to know if CIG is planning to give them better throttle controls.

I have a low/medium rig and usually got by with an average of 30ish fps. My buddy has a super high end rig and usually got him 70+ fps. We played the current patch and it was pretty awesome. For the most part, we were relatively equal in fps with me just being 5-10 lower than him. There were certain areas where his rig absolutely out performed mine, but this was the first time I was close to equal grounds with him. I've spent a lot of time in the EPTU for weeks now. My observations. When you can get in (which has been challenging due to 30018 errors) the performance has improved steadily over time. When you get in and when it works (lots of server errors are taking place) the performance (frames per second etc) is good. But the common theme you see here is "when it works it works well" but often times it does not work for one reason or another. My other point and this cannot be understated is the number of bugs - they are so prolific I'd hate to see it go live in its current state. Ships spawn in walls, ships blow up randomly, ships have components sticking out of them in places that prevent operation, distribution centers hand out criminal stats for erroneous reasons, inventory is all messed up and the old bugs of stuff disappearing happens all the time, the new interface is not optimized and often gets messed up, keybind errors (if you choose to rebind things) cause a lot of issues with the new interface, many armors (like Aril) wont equip backpacks, many paints causing issues, vehicle ship management breaks, pens wont refill, Grim Hex is completely broken - these and many other issues persist.

I think it would be awesome if we could have a customizable HUD (like you're talking about around 15:00). For example in iRacing, you can resize HUD elements and move them around wherever you want in order to accommodate all the different display setups people have with VR, triple screens, etc. A customizable HUD for SC would probably make sense from a lore standpoint too. With that kind of HUD system IRL, you would probably be able to decide what information you want displayed and where/how big etc.
Obviously not a priority, and I won't lose any sleep over it as long as they get a good, functional layout figured out. Just one of those things that would really spoil us... AFTER they get all the really important stuff ironed out.

In no way shape or form would a military defense contractor build a ship where the shields have to drop in order to fly... especially 900 years in the future... in a fight against aliens... this change could MAYBE make sense for industrial and civilian ships. The majority of quests are completely broken, inventory interaction is glitchy as hell and especially food consumption is a pain, the hud is super cluttered, I've had several servers that went into a recovery death loop and the devs even had to shut down the XT testing on saturday because it completely killed the servers. Seriously, this patch needs a lot more time to cook.

I do not hope CIG drops 3.23 cause it gave me a feeling that brings me back to 3.18 launch! Since I got in, in Wave three, but having friends being both Evo´s and Wave 1´s, I knew that it would be with allot of bugs! Yeah it has gotten better, but not good enough for the PU! I have only be able to do one mission, just a normal bunker, but still it was bugged with nps not spawning. Yesterdays play, we had server errors every 20 min. and at the end we gave up gameplay! Dont want to take up more space, running through all the bugs, but I would just say, that it would be better if CIG would delay 3.23 and just patch 3.22 for Invictus. I mean im trying to remain optimistic, but my experience so far in the EPTU has been very poor. I'm excited to try out the new content, especially distribution centers, but so far I haven't been able to. These last 2 builds, the biggest issue has been servers seemingly crash looping, and it going into crash recovery every 5 mins or so. The couple builds before that it was just atrocious performance, framerates so low (like 5FPS) that I really couldn't control my ship, or player, or accomplish anything, certainly not FPS combat. To me, its felt like this was a patch that still needs a few more weeks of bug fixing and performance improvement, before it was ready for full PTU and LIVE. If I am to judge based on my own experience, I think we wont see this live till the week of invictus.

Playing ptu was overall an underwhelming experience for me.
Currently, everything new has its own issue. I'd call it 75% ready for pu.
Dynamic crosshair is so dynamic that it keeps disappearing on its own
Vulkan got my cpu to reach almost 100 degrees while compiling shaders and kinda took long mine was i9 14300k. So expect a very long compiling time. However, it still, it got performance drops and stutter issues. Using 4080 and my gpu and cpu utilization wouldnt reach 38% but i still faced those issues. I didnt have that frequent issues because of my setup but i think they would be worse for other people.
    Minimap has sharpness issue
Starmap was useless for me because the features that mattered the most werent there (custom markers etc) i dont care about markers in fps areas!
I wanted to test mm as a dog fight with gladius but i couldnt since it was 1 shot with a missile at vlrt shields were full. The countermeasures didnt work either...
AI was way better than pu though. Highly active friendlies were also op as they would have already cleared 75% of the enemies by the time i arrived at the bunker
Distribution centers are so huge that it got me wonder about the possibilities and fun we could have in the future but they currently lack content.
In new deal, i bought a prospector by mistake since it would only highlight but wouldnt show anything else and when i tried pressing long f to see if pointer would show any details, it bought the ship 😂😂😂😂😂
When i called elevators, it wouldnt show as "elevator called" and get stuck as "call elevator" which made me click f nonstop thinking it didnt work 😅
Expect 3.23 to be more of an update on visuals rather than gameplay focus so that the impact of disappointment doesnt hit you too strong while questioning to yourself or ranting on world chat "so much time for this? Seriously? What was the hype even about? Is this real or a dream?"
I hit the ground very hard once which did not damage psices rescue at all but just now while dogfighting the same ship, just a tap exploded my ship and the other pisces rescue was still alive even tnough it was close to popping since much of it was red already which was another ship related occurrence that got me surprised.

And since everything takes a long time in SC and it is very difficult to get 20 people together at the same place and time, for hours, and have 19 of them staring at a viewpanel as crew, CIG know that AI shards (primarily discussed by CIG as worse-than-NPC-crew, manning turrets and such) and NPC crew will be neccessary.

We need NPC / shards. Not sure why so many people are like big ship must have only players. It’s just not practical to require multi crew ships to be player bound. You are literally seat locked in SC. You can’t fast travel or warp in and out. Making multi ships completely contingent upon players would relegate 98% of gameplay being single seaters.

To base your fleet on NPC Crew/AI Blades and flying solo is impractical and unrealistic post 3.23. SQ42 is SP, Star Citizen is in essense MP, always was the intention.

Its not happening no matter what you expect, you'll have to plan for the inevitable as do we all, and ive played solo up until now, but that's all changing for the better.

Pirates players that can jump to you and run away, only to come back again with no penalties are a nightmare. At least with MM you can punish them for trying to scurry away. Also means that boarding and negotiations are more likely because you can’t just jump away without consequences. More reason to have light fighter escorts and other fun stuff!

@@Netist_i would argue the opposite, it makes perfect sense. That energy has to come from a finite source. The only system that can realistically be sacrificed in that scenario is a sustained full-power burn. So limiting the engines to power shields couldn’t make more sense. That doesn’t mean that engines should have reduced thrust vectors (which I think is a problem at the moment) as short full-power bursts wouldn’t require the kind of heat dissipation you’d need for a sustained full-power burn. I think they nailed this!
Obviously this is all make believe, but if we’re gonna believe in SC we may as well make it believable! 🫡
