For some reason that 60s tractor is giving me this very slight sensation of nostalgia. I think it is because agriculture around these parts began to die out in the 60s, and as such most local photos of tractors contain models like that.
2:28 - I had this one as a kid - Massey Ferguson 135 or 165 maybe. I have a real 165 now I’ve just finished restoring - always wanted one after having this lego so long ago. 😊👍
Thanks for the list! Most of those are going to be in the follow-up (the focus is specifically on farm equipment). I'm working on a different video at the moment, but that one will be coming later.
I remember that 8260 Tractor set, got it for christmas like 10 years ago. A shame that one of the bucket's connectors got brittle enough to snap while attaching one day.
Definitely! I mean.... only 35 sets (approximately) over 57 years... that's kinda sad. Hopefully we'll get more in the future now that Lego is releasing ~800 sets each year.
Reeeaaally wish I had gotten that Combine Harvester Transporter set from a few years back before it was discontinued. Because I have they newer red tractor and their now releasing so many farm, Animal, and nature themed sets. Also, wouldn't it be cool if they someday released another limited edition Cargo Train set like the Red on from 2012 and it included a little old fashioned orange tractor with catapiller treads and a semi oval shaped front end as a little nod and reference another piece of childhood nostalgia? Man, that would be perfect.
First Combine Harvester was in 1989 with set 8862. It was second to the Backhoe. Also the 1986 "Tractor" (set 8849) should have stated it featured a rotating PTO shaft driven from the rear wheel.
The backhoe was a cool design. Had the pneumatic pump and actuators. The combine was pretty cool, just wished it would have been more finished-not just a skeleton.
9:30 "Based on a 1951 Ferguson tractor" This is actually true, because the tractor in question is a 1951 Ferguson TE20, a UK farming vehicle that was basically the grandfather of MF Tractors (Massey Ferguson Inc.)
And the "Danish ring roller" is probably a refrence to the danish company Dalbo. Dalbos HQ is located 5km away from LEGOLAND and they have produced ringrollers since the 1950s and they are amoung the 3 biggest producers of ringrollers today
7:44 This was my first lego technic set I remember walking out of Toys R Us after my birthday from getting money from cards I remember it took me like 2 days to build because I never used the snap together parts so it was kinda mind boggling I'm pretty sure it when I was 9 or 10 I kinda wanna go find the manual for it and build it once again
I have a special version of that 2006 tractor with claas stickering made specifically for it, unfortunately its in pieces now but if I ever wanted to rebuild it, I can!
Might want to add the 8069, 8455 and 8862 A and B models.. which are all basically tractor loaders. Also the 8862 B is the first LEGO combine harvester if i'm not mistaken.
Good call, 8069 is a log loader I think. 8455 and 8862 are backhoes, plus the 8862 B-model is a harvester. In this video I tried to stay away from loaders and backhoes though, and just focus on farm tractors. Otherwise it would be too many sets lol. These take a really long time to model and animate
Cool video, but sometimes you have the wrong colours for the rubber tyres where you use the wrong material for the render. You can see this most clearly at 3:47 in with the 1991 Railroad Tractor Flatbed where the front and rear tyres use two different materials, with the front tyres being too shiny.
Hello! I’m new here and I just subbed! I don’t wanna sound weird and I’m not complaining, but 5:27 those are straw bales from a combine ;D Also, I can help you next time maybe with the different machines, I love farm machines and Lego!
Thanks for the sub! And yeah you're probably right about the bales. Makes sense that they would be straw from the straw chopper. I'll be doing a follow-up video with the tractor sets I missed in this one, and I'd love to have some input from anyone who knows more about farm equipment! Most of my knowledge comes from playing Farming Simulator lol
Glad you enjoyed it! I realized after I made this video that I did miss some of the tractor models. The list of sets I based this on came from a search on Brickset.com. Since then I've found some other ways to get better search results so hopefully my videos will be a bit more thorough in the future!
Just me or is this channel really underrated i see youtubers with 100s of thousands of subscribers and dont put this much effort in keep up the amazing work bro 👏👍
If i look at the lego website i can find many more tractors than in the video. also i could not find the bugger, but there is a second version of the railroad tractor. only that one was road construction.
No, you didn't miss it... I did. There will eventually be a follow-up video with the other tractor sets since there are a bunch that didn't make it into this video.
I have the big blue one from 1981! And this green one from 2006!
For some reason that 60s tractor is giving me this very slight sensation of nostalgia. I think it is because agriculture around these parts began to die out in the 60s, and as such most local photos of tractors contain models like that.
9:17 This set is a first idea, of the later, under the real licensed name produced set „Claas Xerion“
2:24 most people probebly got this already but but just too clear up the tractor is Massy-Fergusson 135.
Oh I just posted a comment saying that but yep you beat me to it by a month
5:04 this was my first lego set
2:28 - I had this one as a kid - Massey Ferguson 135 or 165 maybe. I have a real 165 now I’ve just finished restoring - always wanted one after having this lego so long ago. 😊👍
Some of these I had as a kid, nostalgia!
5:47 this includes also a farm with the tractors
5:10 I had this tracktor when I was five years old.
lets be honest with ourselves 2009 farm was peak performance
Well yea, because the main Lego city theme was farm
W
Where is the big class xerion
Great video, please do a follow up.
You missed:
6524: Blizzard Blazer
6603: Shovel Truck
42054: CLAAS XERION 5000 TRAC VC
42102: Mini CLAAS XERION
8260: Tractor
8281: Mini Tractor
60287: Tractor
And some harvesters
8274: Combine Harvester
60223: Harvester Transport
42080: Forest Harvester
8862: Backhoe Grader (Alternative build)
Thanks for the list! Most of those are going to be in the follow-up (the focus is specifically on farm equipment). I'm working on a different video at the moment, but that one will be coming later.
What about 8457 Power Poller?
@@maglekaer1 You could certainly call it a "tractor", but a vehicle like that probably wouldn't be used on a farm.
I remember that 8260 Tractor set, got it for christmas like 10 years ago. A shame that one of the bucket's connectors got brittle enough to snap while attaching one day.
Hey, you forgot the Claas Xerion and a mini technic one, a 8260
The farm brick box was my first set I got it when I was 5
Me too!
Lego in 2009 be like: HOWDY FOLKS WANNA SEE MAH NEW TRACTOR
yes
Lego should’ve done more farm and animal themed sets.
Definitely! I mean.... only 35 sets (approximately) over 57 years... that's kinda sad. Hopefully we'll get more in the future now that Lego is releasing ~800 sets each year.

Can you show the building instructions for the red Tractor from 2009?
That 2006 yr model dune buggy tractor probably one of the most good looking technic set built in its year
Of course there had to be missing set. To be preciseful - 8281 Mini-Tractor. But I really appreciate use of 3D Models
the video is beautiful, too bad there are no lego set numbers, at least in the cases you could find them

Sure takes me back.

U missed a micro technic one from 2010 i think AND THE CLAAS XERION MY FAV SET THAT I OWN 🤣🤣
Yup. I'm considering doing another video that includes the sets I missed in this one. There seems to be a lot of interest for that!
@@3dbrickworld749 Yes do it immediately! Edit this vid, no need to make new.
@@SergeyPRKL I'd love to, unfortunately RUclips doesn't let you change a video that's already uploaded. The only option is to create another one
One important feature of the 1975 tractor of the gear farm set (I had back then) was the steering of the front axle
Definitely. I love having an audience with so much attention to detail!!!!!
I’m sooo happy you called it an auger ,some people call it a pipe (I’m a farmer)
Same well I'm 10 but I'm a big help to my dad and I can plant beans and corn I can drive tractors and trucks

Lego made 2 sets called "Farm" in 2009.

I wish I could afford the Ferguson Tractor. Maybe I can piece it together on Bricklink.
i love this video, congretulations
First video I've seen on this channel. What a great idea for creating youtube content, wish I'd thought of it.
Rototillers are for breaking up hard soil pulling rocks from the soil
Wind rowers are for drying hay
you missed out on a few lego techinc sets related to farming stuff

Very good move!
I have the 2009 tractor, great little model that one.
Can you please make a video about LEGO Technic John Deere 9620R 4WD Tractor (42136?
My favourite was the “1978 farm tractor”
The design of a Massey Ferguson
Yeah that is really a beautiful model.
Did the Massey ferguson ever come out I can’t find anywhere on the internet to buy one?
i think its based on a Massey 135
The green ones remind me of Deutz-Fahr and CLAAS.

In 2013 there was a tractor in the town square set and it was a street sweeper
Well damn the railroad tractor flatbed is looking good even in 1991
2009"Tractor" I have it at home 😝

how about the claas xerion?
Don't think much of the 1st 1, should = 4 wide around engine. Made it from picture in old book.

Part of the 4563 train set I believe; the one you put into a box for hauling.

Man LEGO had a farm fetish in 2009 or something
So Lego's farm equipment sets really were first steps for the brand? First use of clear pieces, first use of a minifigure, etc...
In 2021 City has got a new version of farm tractor
Missing the lego batman scarecrows harvester and the tractor in that set. Also Lego did make a forge harvester
