Best February Stars live version ever ... the expression on his face, the way he sings it, all the emotions ... it's exceptional. Very underrated song, one of my favorites. It gives me chills. Simply perfect.
proOutlander I'm trying to find just an audio version of this... I completely agree that it's the best version with the other live version from their Skin & Bones live album not far behind.
@@davidmatthews1710 respectfully disagree. They herp derp it up in Skin and Bones with the keyboard and weird country vibe at the beginning. Less is more IMO and the Foo Fighters corporation has long since lost sight of that
@@davidmatthews1710 I guess both versions have their likeness about them whether you’re up for some rock or acoustic music but yes that version is easy listening.
I think Dave may have been very guarded about this song, and said it had to do with his former wife after his divorce, when in fact I really do think it is about Kurt, who was born in February. After reading the Storyteller, it confirmed what I think after he explains the walls he built to protect himself from the pain of losing Kurt after he initially thought Kurt passed in Rome. I love this song very much, THANK YOU Dave for your inspiration, your generosity, and for the music. I'm sorry for your losses, but am inspired by your insistence on pushing forward. THANK YOU
One of those records that once you press play , as the music begins and the lyrics glow in your mind, you feel a thrust of memories throughout your life , some good, some bad, but this song releases so much tension from your mind, no matter what you're going through in life. This song has helped me get through a lot emotions. Man, I wish I could be a writer for a magazine company or something that has to do with writing/critiquing. That would be a dream come true. It's my true passion. God bless to all of you! Keep it movin'
This is one of the best easy listening songs that the Foo Fighters have ever written/performed. The song has lyrics that are very easy to remember and it's always easy to sing along even if I'm singing to the top of my voice while driving. #FoosForLife #FebruaryStars
Possibly the first Foo's song I ever heard and at the time it helped me relax. It was the 90's and My life was hectic and I could not see a light, thankfully these guys have been singing to me since then and I've made it this far.. 41 next February, Go me! Thanks Dave, thanks Foo's
I was born in Feb. So I put my birthstone ring in my grandfathers suite pocket. This song is why. He held on with just an IV from April 4-24. He said he just wanted to go. He couldn't swallow and didn't want to live in a nursing home. He was hanging on. Thank you Dave for another song to help me through a hard time ♥ you
my dad held on in a coma, just to hear me talk to him again one last time . he let go with tears running down his cheek as he let go into the abyss... on FEBRUARY 6 1999
Damn man... I can't believe I just cried a lil'. At 0:59 he opened his eyes and looked like he wanted to pour out the tears. Then later he wiped them from his face. Truely emotional, and made it better
thinking about you today Dad as we finally have some real fall weather, this song is one of my favorites since your birthday was in February and you bought me this album on cassette when I was 14. its from one of my favorite albums and one of the best rock albums of all time, happy Foos will be inducted in hall of fame
It kinda looks like dave's crying at the start of the performance. Which is of course sad but shows how important music is in the way he feels. What a guy.

when I hear this song it reminds me of all my past, and I cry. I don't really know why... but it's such a beautiful song I want to dance to with my dad on my wedding when I'm older. we're both going to cry our fucking hearts out because it reminds him of me... ok I'm gonna go cry some more

It was written in his nirvana days before Kurt died, Kurt actually heard the song and loved it, it's about the dying relationship between dave and his ex wife I think.
I hate that personal drama tends to happen at the worst time, but it sure does tend to inspire great music. Writing songs that likely were about his wife and the perspective changing from husband to rough divorce midway through the process. I know Dave had a serious hand in it ending, but it does not make it any less rough on someone.
In my opinion definitely the most underrated Foo Fighters song
Yes
Yes, off the best album ever.....
Idk, they're all so great. But this is a fave!!
Dave Grohl like tells in México "se la mama". I want to see Foo Fighters un live. Saludos a Mexicali.
Unfortunately.

This song hits hard. Now hits harder after Taylor Hawkins, a February star, passed away.
Kurt was also born in february, he lost 2 great musicians and 2 great friends...
will always be my favorite foo song. i swear to god this song has saved my life

hurts my soul knowing he has lost both Kurt, and Taylor, who both were born in February. Both February stars :(

Dave Grohl : " please Taylor begin the drums "
Y de la nada aparece un salvaje comentario en español.
Aguanten los Foo.

wonderful singing
He takes my breath away...
00:56 his eyes got filled of tears... :(
Because he wrote that for Kirt Kobain.
eyes get filled with tears honey ;-)
Dominique Belisle Oh fucking hell, not every song Dave writes is about Kurt Cobain. It's a pretty standard love song.
Because he's sweating as fuck.
Actually it was written about his exwife but in a way theres some kurt in there him being born in febuary

Hanging on
Here until I'm gone
Right where I belong
Just hanging on
Even though
Watched you come and go
How was I to know
You'd steal the show
One day I'll have enough to gamble
I'll wait to hear your final call
Bet it all
Hanging on
Here until I'm gone
Right where I belong
Just hanging on
Even though
I pass this time alone
Somewhere so unknown
It heals the soul
You ask for walls
I'll build them higher
We'll lie in shadows of them all
I'd stand but they're much too tall
And I fall
