  • Well it's one of them common notes again that appears in practically all perfumes. I do enjoy the note, though I ain't gonna blag I can't always tell if it's not lemon or line and refer to it as general citrus.
I believe the fruit itself is inedible, I don't appreciate things we can't eat 😱. I've obviously only really experienced it in real life in Earl Grey. Which I do love.
Pointless facts not in the video... The connection to a pretty insignificant geordie British Prime Minister is pretty tenuous and nobody knows... Also the bergamot was first added to really poor quality tea to make it taste better and this was before the name. Maybe brands nowadays with what they call "tea" may have to start adding things, I imagine even this "poor quality" tea of the 19th Century was damn good stuff compared to what a lot of it is now. Anyways, non of that was needed.
So what's your favourite bergamot scent? Are you a fan of Earl Grey tea? What citrus do you enjoy.

I really like bergamot. I really like the Perris Monte Carlo one and I used to have a mini of one from Aqua di Parma that was lovely also.

Yes it tends to just be a rather lovely happy note doesn't it. ADP are masters of citrus top, they were so very good 😍

Oh I love bergamot (and I thought you hated citrus but if you like Earl grey that makes sense ^^). Watching 👀

Yes 🤣 my tea obsession warms me towards it. I'll never be a citrus lover tho 😜

I think Guerlain and Les indémodables have the best bergamot out there, or so far that's the one I've enjoyed the most... Bergamote calabria, Le Frenchy, Escale en indonésie... I think these are my favourite fragrances with a dominant note of bergamot. Because yes indeed bergamot is massively used in perfumery but as this is a note that I love I'm quite picky with it 😄

No I get that, when it's dominant we want it to be good. You do love your fresher ones 😜. It was quite hard to find many I have where it's quite strong

Bergamask by Orto Parisi? Is that the one you were trying to recall? It’s good, 👍🏻 but my favorite bergamot perfume is Bergamoss by Mandy Aftel /Aftelier perfumes. It’s my favorite chypre - have the solid and spray versions and ohhhh my it is so gorgeous! Bright and lime with some pith upfront and then a lactonic green, forest floor perfume with tinctured oak moss, and real ambergris. Like a dark green velvet dress. 🥰

That's the one yes 🙂 walking and talking gets the best of me at my old age now 🤣. That sounds nice I'm defo moving towards chypres now, tho moss is a note I do struggle with

@@scentedsnowdrops You're right, oak moss can be - it depends really on the accord or if it's a tincture, the amount of it. It can go really really soapy which isn't my favorite, or really woody if it's an accord. All I know is some of my absolute favorite perfumes have real oak moss in it. Chyprette by Annette Neuffer is really good - it has anise & violets - an early spring scent with oak moss and also has a nice tart bergamot opening. It seems like every brand has a chypre style perfume but I'm struggling to think of others at the moment. Haha. :) Can't wait for your next trio!

Anise & violets? I think I'm gonna need to hunt that down. I love Dryad that is such a yellow one. Age is definitely changing my tastes

Ever since I got my sense of smell back after losing it for nearly 3 years bergamot smells literally like dust!😭Breaks this girl’s heart.

From the rona? I'm so sorry it was cruel in so many ways wasn't it. That is sad, I hope you get more of it back 😔

I can't say I'm first in the queue for Trump's new one either.
Bergamot is just a neutral isn't it? You can't really ever hate it. Coconut fizz is quite bergamotty at the beginning, but it's basically in everything... 😂

Yea it's whatever they decide it to be, just the blast of sweet zesty freshness that's generally there for 5mins

"Literally anything" yep it's the universal citrus isn't it? Need citrus? But don't want anything to take over? It's bergamot isn't it?

Yes "bergamot" it does work nicely to be fair
