- An interview format on tools, training, awareness and personal and social responsibility. Empowered people, those with training, tools, and capability are the ones that add to society. This is true for the safety of that society as well as the quality of life. Engage in courtesy and caring for your fellow citizens. Watch out for each other. For the Gentleman he should always be looking out for the safety and security of the women and children in his sphere of influence, it is our sacred duty.
Local laws very. I look at it like this. No one knows I have the knife unless I need it. If I do then that being without it would have been worse than any consequences of carrying it. Just my view, stay safe.
I will be doing a video specifically on the use of the flashlight for personal safety and defense.
SystemOfStrategy I’ve watched that video and it’s spot on. Thank you.
If you carry the pen, is it better than carrying the tactical key, ie the key is mostly redundant?
It depends upon the situation...and you have two hands.
@@SystemOfStrategy cool thx
Great video, and great philosophy. I’ve watched this video several times, and I really appreciate the message in the last part of the video. Words to live by 👍🏻👍🏻🇳🇴
You are welcome.
The hard thing is to teach people common sense tools can give u a false sense of security if u are committed and train u might get away from an incident to live another day
It's always such a pleasure to hear Sensei Williams' wise words, and to learn from them! Osu
The end of the video was very inspiring.

does the ordinary person really need a flashlight if he got his phone on him perhaps with a flashlight-app?
Great video though :)
Yes. The flashlight app is not powerful enough to do the job for personal safety as demonstrated in this video. Remember it is ordinary people who are the victims of the vast majority of crimes.
A little off topic from this video James, but I'm curious about the high alloy steel Hanwei used to make, I have a Colonels Gunto in the HWS-2 steel and wondering how different this steel is compared to other "high strength" steels offered by Hanwei. So far it has been fine with tatami but I'm not sure if I would use it on bamboo.
I see, I have made one poor cut on double mats and it showed no damage or bending. There's very little information on these steels, apart from your video which covered the HWS-1 steel, and less on the HWS-2 alloy. Thanks for the reply.
Is it legal to carry that type of small folding knife on the street in most cities? I thought that you can carry a knife legally as long as the blade is under 3 inches/ but I could be wrong.
We can influence our citizens and society with our behavior and we need to as it is best for everyone. Thank you for the comment.
I tell ppl this all the time. I try to have flashlight and a proper knife on me at all times even tho NY doesnt like it as well as scan my surroundings.
I have not used that blade so I do not know how forgiving it is if a bad cut is made.
A safe society is one where we help each other, everyone can do something.
Amat Victoria Curam- Victory Love Preperation ... Or some variation there of depending on how good your Latin is :)
I watched this 3 times and showed it to my wife. We are ordering two of the CRKT flashlights today.
Great points! Thank you Mr. Williams for what you do and who you are.
You are welcome.
