Many experts believe that the bow was under the water when it snapped-otherwise, the propeller would have driven the stern farther from the bow like the Daniel J Morrell
When you started making the waves, my brain started singing the Gilligans Island theme song. "The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed...."
I like your model boat. Other re-enactments I’ve seen show this, but the ones I’m more inclined to go along with are the one that have those rogue waves coming, and lifting the bow up, and after the apex of the wave the E.F. may have broken apart then and nosed dived to the bottom, or it could have gone down whole, and broken up once hitting bottom. So many ship wrecks on Superior, Michigan, Huron. Not so much on Erie, and Ontario. Big commercial freighters I mean, historic wooden ships… sure.
The wind was traveling from the north to the south ! The rogue waves that hit the Anderson come from behind and then traveled 10 miles south and hit the already damaged and take on water Fitz from behind also lifting her stern and pushing her bow down and she nosed dived to the bottom breaking in too and accordion middle 200ft of the hull !
I love the model, there is a lot missing from the story, though. I would have to consult some references for details, which I would have to track down, but here is what I remember from them. During the storm, the ship lost her weather radar, her captain mentioned it to the captain of the Arthur M. Anderson, which was running a few miles off her port beam. The captain of the Anderson reported that the Fitz had passed close to some 6 fathom shoals off Caribou Island (rocky outcroppings about 36 feet below a calm water surface). Shortly thereafter, the captain of the Fitz reported to the captain of the Anderson that vents from the number 5&6(?) ballast tanks had been blown off and the starboard railing was down (wire cables). He had also developed a 15 degree list to starboard and was running both pumps. This damage would be consistent with the ship bottoming out on the starboard side, collapsing those ballast tanks and flexing the ship severely. Some time later, the ship foundered and broke in three. I suspect the bow hit bottom with the stern still on the surface and the damaged middle section crumpled and folded underneath. The bow section ends right about where the damaged ballast tanks were located. It is likely a rogue wave struck the final blow, as I recall that the captain of the Anderson reported such a wave, after which he lost sight of the Fitz and radio communication was lost.

1:32 - I noticed that at this point in the case there are ventilation hatches for drying / for various flooding simulations. Could you tell me how this structure is made so that water does not penetrate inside when they are closed?
Each part of the hull, whitch there are five, has a wall to devide it into two sections. There are 5 openings in the hull, each with two hatches, leading into the separate compartments of the hull. You can open the hatches and control the sinking :)
Hey mate, could you explain on how do you 3D print and design your ships ? Also, planning on releasing more videos of other ships, especially Titanic ?
Hi. I print my ships from PLA on my Prusa MK3S. I usually look up some famous ships and design mine similar to them. I model everything in Fusion 360, or Siemens NX. I should make more videos during the summer, but I don´t plan to do Titanic any time soon. Hope this answers all your questions :)
Please can you sell the cargo ship 3d model I’m not spending 300 dollars on a 3d printer and JLCPCB is too complicated for me to even understand Essentially for you is free money- ish
Sorry, but I don´t sell my models. If you find someone with a 3D printer, I plan to post this model on my Printables site, so you can get it that way :)

they way the doors fall inward, and also will you ever post links to these ships other then the first one, yeah i get it this may print bad, but still interested, and i have history with this ship
I think you got that confused with SS Carl D. Bradley. It looks very similar to Edmund Fitzgerald and it also sank in Lake Michigan. Two people survived on C. D. Bradley but none on E. Fitzgerald.
Many experts believe that the bow was under the water when it snapped-otherwise, the propeller would have driven the stern farther from the bow like the Daniel J Morrell
Touché but the Bradley also split and the halves are quite close by, I do believe the three sisters send her down and she broke though
Do you like grate lake ship recks because I do
@@OliverStabile the Bradly, according to survival accounts, had also stopped to let the crew off, and the unloading conveyor held the pieces together

That would explain why the stern rests upside down

My dad was 6 months when that. Happened rip to the whole crew
OMG THAT IS MY FAVORITE SHIP
also mine too
It is said from the rogue wave that hit and split it to the time its stern sank below the waves, was 6 minutes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald did not sink like that it dove in bow first and then the back half went straight up and then sunk
