I have both the M2 and Max. Both sound great and each has its own application for different situations. The Max has recording in the transmitter which is the only reason to use it if needed. The M2 size is its best strength to use it.
One interesting question about M2, can you use simultaneously one mic with camera receiver and one mic with the phone receiver, well, in different locations away from eachother...
Thanks for the comparison! My only grip with the video is that you have 2 transmitters, 1 being used and 1 in the box, yet you never take it out to show us what you are describing. Aside from the barebones demonstration of the M1, we never really get a visual rundown of the others as you describe them, still had to go elsewhere to see an example of the M2 windbreaker being worn visually
I have other videos on my channel where I go into more detail on each of these wireless systems. Sorry for not packing in all the details into one video, though. I understand people want to see everything in one video, so I get the criticism.
Great review! I think the M2 has the slightest edge in sound quality over the others. However, I'm looking to buy either the Lark M1 or M2, but it's dependent on the thickness of the camera receiver. I need invisible stitching for Insta360 X4, where the receiver will sit on a cold shoe that is affixed on the side of the camera, but to remain invisible, I need to know the thickness of each. Thinner being better, and I'm sure the M1 already works, but if I can get the M2, with the nicer receiver options and dial, I would prefer that. But if it's too thick, then I would have to go with the M1. My only other question is the recharging case size of the M1 and M2, because I need to create a cutout in my weatherproof case's foam to place it in. Smaller is better of course. Thanks so much for your help! I would definitely buy through your links.
Hi which of this can you recommend i want to use it for my ace pro and android phone and i do food asmr, but there's a roster from my neighbors backgroud noise. What can you recommend? 😊
When they release a lark mark 3 with internal recording i will buy one. Bluetooth support would be nice as well. I don't really care about the 32bit. I like the Lark Max but i don't like the transmitter sizes compared to M2. So i want a lark Max with bluetooth support and small transmitters like Lark M2.
I don't think internal recording on a coin sized transmitter is possible yet. No manufacturer offers that technology. The Lark Max gives you internal recording. There are transmitters the size of the Lark M1 that offer internal recording from other brands, so that might be the smallest you can go at the moment until there is some kind of breakthrough with internal storage tech. We can dream. haha.
@@VideoGizmologysomeone up there asked an interesting question on m2 combo pack, can you use one transmitter with one receiver on Android device separately functioning than the other transmitter synced with the iPhone receiver? Say 2 miles away from each other would they function as 2 different mic setups?? 🤔
I want to open a live broadcast from my phone while fishing. The wind can be my biggest enemy. Which one do you think I should choose? Maybe later I can buy an action camera and broadcast live from there.
I would get the Lark M2 or Lark Max and use the provide wind muff. If that's not enough, you can use the noise cancellation feature, but it makes the audio worse at the cost of reducing noise. If you're doing very long fishing trips, the Lark Max will give you longer battery life than the Lark M2, but the M2 is very small and not as noticeable on your body as the Max, if that matters.
Not pointing out that the Max has independent recording of audio data is a BIG oversight for such a video. That is the big difference from the other two, not the sound. Duh.
Hey guy, I loved your review. Although I still have doubts about whether to buy the MAX or the M2. I am a filmmaker and I do many interviews and REELs with two iPhones, the 14 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance. Greetings!
It depends on 2 things: 1. Do you want internal recording? 2. Do you want to use Lav mics or just attached the transmitter directly on the person's shirt? The M2 is small and discrete, but has no internal recording and cannot be used with a Lav mic. The MAX has a Lav mic input and internal recording for backups, but it's much larger than the M2 if you are attaching it.
@@VideoGizmologywhat’s the big difference on internal vs external recording? Background noise??? Feedback?? Lmk! Yes I want a lav mic so I can clip it to a hat or a shirt. I’m wanting to just record gym content on my iPhone 15 or an Insta360 ONE R. The iPhone is seeming more suitable because of its battery life compared to the ONE R, but I will use whatever is easier to use the microphone with. Lmk!
Also seeing the C1 as a potential candidate for the iPhone usage, but let me know pls what best bang of buck and production quality/easiness would be. Either for iPhone or the ONE R. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
yes, I believe you can either use the USB-C port on your computer or 3.5mm TRRS jack. depending on your computer, once you plug it in, you need to change your audio hardware settings.
It depends on if your device has a headphone output jack. If you using a iPhone that doesn't have a headphone output, you cannot monitor it. But if you are going directly into a camera that has a headphone output, you can monitor it.
I've watched a few videos with "head to head" comparisons of M2 and Max. There are so many variables, but the differences I heard were the same. The Lark is muddy. The other review switched on "Vocal Boost" and now it's muddy with over-hyped mid-highs. So many cool features on Max, but it's not going to work for vocals. Maybe interviews is the limitation (and purpose).
With these models to chose from and varying quality it almost looks like none of these is worth it. The M1 doesnt have a USB/lightning plug, the M2 is ruined bc of the wondshield and the Max is just too damned expensive. F Hollyland.
Is there a section on Hollyland's official website where that fact is written, so I can verify that claim? I'm not saying I don't believe you, but I would feel more confident to read that fact directly from Hollyland.

Nice! ⭐ Thanks.

0:27 > Lark M1
1:37 > Lark M2
4:20 > Lark Max
Lark M2 to me sounds the best but I'm looking at MAX because of the ENC and the lav mic.
Don't they all have lav mics?
M2 Sounds more clear than Max. Max has a little more bottom.
I agree. not sure why the M2 sound clearer and with more treble in a nice way
Will mark m2 work in classroom recording or some other mike with headbands.

Which one is your favorite?
Lark M2 is my favorite. I highly recommend that one over the others. The small size is a huge selling point.

I only care about the sound quality so in your opinion what is the best one for me , I need mic for out doors interviews.
Just sound quality, the Lark Max is the best.

the m2 and max sounds similar,
i don't really think it's worth double the price, except there are other functionalities.
