Simply saying that she is "Wholesome" but, with as much respect as possible, that they would "Smash" is not contextually part of the discussion she is having. Sure, it's kinda odd and might have motives based in what she is talking about. We honestly don't know ErikPT's motivation for saying it.
At best we can say perhaps it fall's under the overall "Not being treated like a normal person" part of the discussion, but it's bound to happen with popular and known people. As long as it's not any more vulgar than that, or hyper specific about why, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal to say something along those lines in passing.
She is pretty wholesome and, respectfully, also "Smashable".
I wish her the best and hope she is able to find more people who will treat her like a normal person, perhaps even find a partner among them to share her life with.
Do I hope it to be me? No, I am a happily married man in my 40's and a complete mess of a person in general. I'm truly undeserving of the amazing woman I married and had children with. But I am grateful that she did and I do my best to be better for her every day.
All that said Mouse is a wholesome and wonderful person, I'm sure whom ever she finds will be just as grateful as I am with my wife.
Would I "Smash' if my life were different and the situation arose? Yes, I don't know what to say other than it's a simple & honest answer to a simple, if exceptionally hypothetical, question.
The reason it's such a massive hypothetical is the fact I'm a nobody in Australia and she is a highly successful V-Tuber in the US, I have more of a chance of knowing Joey "The Animeman" than her due to geographical proximity. Guess who I don't personally know just because we are both Australians, Joey.
And yes, if I swung that way, I would "Smash" Joey. Though, I would be thinking of Garnt the whole time. Nothing against for Conner, but I'm just not into Welshmen (As in women who are Welsh as well).

lol no, all these "problems" are your "normal people" being normal.
You only get female privilege by trying to coast on a VERY narrow margin of bigotry allowed to normal women. It's conformist like Japanese soceity, and if you're a bit short you don't get treated "different": you get treated like men.
If you're cute enough you will be treated like a young boy. And I do mean, thre's MANY types of predators out there, but only one real kind of protection, and that's women's. People LOVE when a boy get assualted adn they get to beat up a predator, it's like a freebie, "nobody" got hurt. A boy is like the cheese in a mouse trap.
No man can say "omg don't you realize how weird that sounds?". Because that's typical women behavior. No women even stick out acting weird or making people uncofmortable, people just roll with it until they're evolved into Karens with zero boundaries.

They were more specifically talking about super clingy short guy's, who literally act like a short woman is their only option.
Look, I'm by no means super short but I am the shortest guy in my family by 15cm (6 inches for those in the US). I'm on the shorter side of average overall, but still within the average height range. So, I am not saying I completely live the short guy experience....but I am saying I know what it's like to be the shortest guy around.
Even among my friends, most of them are taller and more manly looking than me. So, it's not like I am not speaking from some experience here.
Be comfortable with who you are and don't latch onto short (or any other height etc for that matter) women like a drowning man would a life preserver. I've seen guy's who were friends of my friends that were a foot shorter than me owning their life and being able to attract women like no ones business. They were not insecure about their height and would laugh and clap back with some crazy witty remarks at anyone who tried to use it against them.
Wit, self-confidence and being comfortable with yourself as you are is all you need guys.
Like I said, I am not the tallest guy either, yet I was able to have several great girlfriends (Some literally taller than me by at least 10cm, 4 inches for the US) in my life before marrying an amazing woman. I was always platonic friends with them before and after, treat people like they are people first and be comfortable with who you are, the rest just flows from there.
      It's that simple.
As I pointed out, they were specifically talking about desperate and clingy short guys, not all short guys. The conversation around that part centred around people touching their heads, picking them up and generally treating them differently due to their height.
They won't understand the perspective of a guy who is as short or just slightly taller than them because they are not guys. They are talking from their experience as short women, maybe listen and understand what it's like for them. Take that information and then apply it yourselves, as in don't gravitate to short women and be desperately clingy. Help not doing what taller people do to them, perhaps even point out it's quite rude to do things like that when other's do it. But do it in a friendly, off handed manner then go back to doing what you were doing before.
The idea is to not be seen as some white knight or as a desperately attached guy, but to be a person who has listened to these women in the video and understands that they are people who just want to be treated normally like everyone else. Just like you do.
If the topic comes up then sure, tell people (regardless of who asked you or their height) frankly what it's like as a shorter guy. Say it's a different experience to shorter women due to the similar gendered societal expectations of what a man or woman "Should be". But roll with it, and don't linger on the topic because you will be seen as a complaining little short man due to those "societal norms".
Like I said, I'm not the tallest or traditionally "manliest" of guys. So, not dwelling on what makes me seen as "Lesser" is something I am familiar with. It's just how we have to be to get by in the world guys. Be comfortable with yourself as you are and treat others with the decency of being a person first and foremost. As you wish to be treated yourselves no doubt, not as a "Short guy" right?

@@frankie2488 Gee, I wonder why she is miserable...could it be that she has next to no autonomy due to her condition perhaps? Most people have not been through half the crap she has, frankly it's a miracle her masking is as positive and up beat as it is.
Lord knows my masking isn't, at best I usually come off as a sarcastic jerk. I put others down, I troll and I even straight up insult people to their faces with masking. Guess what I'm like without it...
I do and say the most vile things without thinking because of my conditions. I have had friends not talk to me for a week after I jokingly say something because they thought I was serious. Most of the time, I don;t mean literally the things I say in the moment, but the sentiment or a specific instance of what I am talking about is usually what I am saying stuff about. It just comes out half with a hearted attempt to parse for a correction because I'm either too tired &/or sore to think before speaking.
Typing is clearly different, as I can usually take my time and find the right words to say most of the time.
But yeah, I don't blame Mouse for being cynical, bitter or generally an unkind person without the masking. I live that, I sympathise without knowing how much worse her life has been than mine. And yes, her life has been far worse than mine. I can at least leave my house when ever I want to without taking an ambulance worth of medical equipment with me. I have limited autonomy, but not that limited. And the small limitations I personally face are infuriating enough, I wouldn't be half as nice as her, or attempt to be with masking, if I faced Mouse's issues.
But sure, you completely miss the entire conversation and focus on one part in a vacuum. The saying is "Missing the Forrest for the Tree's" for a reason mate, meanwhile you're focused on the branch of one of those trees so hard you didn't even realise there were other tree's at all.
I don't know you, I don't know if you've experienced any issues like me or Mouse and I sure as hell don't care one way or the other. What's clear is that you have a bone to pick and you're incapable of hearing what's said when you listen to people, you only hear what you want to and focus on that to the exclusion of context surrounding it.
And that may not be "Gross"; It's worse, it's a stupid display of how ignorant you are to others and how little you actually retain when being spoken to. You attempted to garner support from the short guys by appealing to a baseline knee-jerk reaction to part of what was said.
Sound's pretty manipulative and "Gross" of you to do that, right?
Interpreting things incorrectly to suit one's narrative is easy to do, kinda hard to prove to be factual once someone points out the correct interpretation though.
Like I said, I don't know anything about you but I created a narrative about you and what you said out of nothing but one of many ways to interpret what you said.
How about chill, be a bit more understanding of others situations and try to hear everything that's being said rather than cherry pick one specific part within the whole, ok?

We don't headpat people we don't know.
We don't really approach people we don't know unless we have a valid reason, like asking where a store or restaurant is.
We use to approach people to get to know them, but that was years ago when we were much younger.
We've become more anxious and paranoid, even developing trust issues, as we got older.
So approaching people we don't know to try to get to know them is more than a little stressful.
But going up to someone unfamiliar to headpat them *without permission* or *physically pick them up* randomly is… well, no matter who you are, that is extremely rude.
And in some places can even be considered harrassment.

    • @Zamrod
      @Zamrod Месяц назад +3

That's the thing. It is the change in the cultural opinion of that subject that is influencing people to think like this. I'm from Canada and the age of consent only changed from 14 to 16 in 2008.
Ask the average person today whether they thought it was legal for any adult to have s*x with people who are 14 sixteen years ago and they'd likely tell you absolutely not. That entire concept seems unthinkable.
The concept that there is a real difference between 14 year old people and 18 year old people is really only an idea that has been around for about 100-150 years. It used to be "children" (younger than 14) and "adults" (who have the full ability and rights of any other adult). During the late 19th century and early 20th century studies started coming out saying that people's brains we're still developing up until their early 20s.
That's when the idea of "adolescence" was created. Now, it started entering the public consciousness that people between the ages of 14 and 18 were not quite adults but also not quite children either. The general opinion became that these people weren't allowed to make decisions anymore and needed to be protected.
As that opinion grew over the last 100 years, it became stronger and stronger. I remember people saying things in the 1980s and 1990s to the effect of "Some 14 year olds are more mature than others. You can't put a hard number on who is mature and who isn't. It's on a case per case basis. Sometimes it is acceptable and sometimes it isn't."
This is all to say that somewhere around the early to mid 2000s there was suddenly a huge movement to "fix" the world. Part of this was a general opinion that people of the past were horrible people who stood by and watched horrible things happen. That refusing to speak up about bad things happens was just as bad as doing the horrible things yourself. This resulted in a cultural crackdown on anything that was considered immoral or wrong and a belief that if you weren't attempting to fix a problem then you were CAUSING it.
This caused people to becomes super defensive over things. It went from "That might be acceptable for some people but not for me" to "Anyone who does that sort of thing is a depraved psychopath who needs to be taken out." Then it went to "Eww, you would date that person? They kind of LOOK like a child. That means your brain thinks people who look like that are attractive. That means you are one of those depraved psychopaths."
In an effort to distance themselves from the entire idea, people have over corrected hard. Which leads to people saying things like they said to her in the video.

I never got how people couldnt deal with suort people you jsut treat them normally, the head pat thing is maybe the one thing I am guilty of too but I just really like doing it regardless of hight its just somuch easier with small people (I would never do it to a stranger and when I do it it's mostly menat to tease a friend in afriendly manner)

its like you either get the people who see you as a child for your height or if they DO see you as an adult, its purely out of a fetish/ sexualization

This is probably a case of "grass is always greener on the other side" but as an attention starved man the idea of being so short and cute that everyone wants to pick me up and pat my head sounds really nice.

0:51 There's an ancient (by RUclips standards anyway) video of Nyanners talking about scumbags saying pretty much this sort of disgusting sentiment, a sentiment that has aged poorly considering her successful content creation career 😂

now i don't pick up people randomly, but if you go for a hug with a guy who is six five, you're getting lifted off the ground.

My longest friend, who's been my friend for about like 7 years (and dated once when we were very young but that's beside the point) is very short, because in the Phillipines women are just much more shorter genetically. Never once did I think she looked like a child even with my really bad face-blindness. Some people just have a skill issue

As a 5'2" guy, people always (does not matter who it is) mime physical violence around me. Punching, kicking, smacking, body slamming, etc. All day long this happens because I'm a small man. And what was said about short men is sadly very true. I have a long way to go in regards to giving shorter women some room to breathe.

I’m about average height but was a late bloomer in middle school. I was shorter than a lot of other boys and got called “Frodo” a lot. And my younger brother and sister shot past me, so I had a complex about my height until I reached adulthood.

I've noticed some Vtubers look like a less exaggerated version of their model in real life. If that's anything to go by, Mouse is probably quite attractive.

I love short girls because I am tall and have back problems so it's hard for me to reach stuff down low. So if I can do the tall stuff and they can do the short stuff it's convenient.
