    I'm practicing all of these not because I'm joining the Navy, but because I kind of suck at swimming and I want to get better lol

    Breaststroke is probably the easiest stroke(for me) but you must know how to properly perform it.

    Remember passing the 2nd class swim test in this pool in Norfolk in 2006.

    As a swimmer joining nrotc this should be easy

    • @jay__chugh
      @jay__chugh 2 года назад

      Swimming is a very little part of NROTC, it won’t correlate to almost anything you do in NROTC especially if you’re a marine option MIDN.

    With the Prones float, I thought you had to have your face underwater for five seconds then come up for a breath of air and repeat?

    • @njpme
      @njpme 7 лет назад +4

      Darian Gutierrez 5 seconds equate to 12 breaths per minute. I do it for 5 seconds, so I don't feel uncomfortable.

      +CyberBully This is for the Navy Diver Rate,ND3 looking to rank up to ND2 must pass this test. Rules are specific to ND Rate.

    at rtc when we go to the pool if we pass the 3rd class but fail the 2nd do we fail the swim test?

    what are the time requirements for each event?

    • @ehal2303
      @ehal2303 3 года назад +2

      Your own pace. As long as you can demonstrate that you mostly know what you're doing, and that you're mostly comfortable doing it, then you should be fine. I did it and passed after years and years of not going in a pool. I'm actually retaking it tomorrow because it was never inputed and I need it. Literally, the last time I was in a swimming pool was in 2014 (when I passed the last 2nd Class Swim Qual) lol.

      @@ehal2303 well I know the dead float is 5 minutes. Is that the same for the back float that he does?

    • @ehal2303
      @ehal2303 3 года назад

      @@CSD-Actual Sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about prone/dead man's float. That part of test is 5 minutes long. The 4 strokes are not timed.

    • @CSD-Actual
      @CSD-Actual 3 года назад

      @@ehal2303 No worries man. So the back float part after the dead man float isn't required?

    • @ehal2303
      @ehal2303 3 года назад

      @@CSD-Actual I guess it is. I don't remember doing it in like 2013 or 14. I literally just did it again right now. There is a back float after prone float. I don't think its really timed though. We did ours for seconds or until the instructor noticed (which ever came first I don't know) lol. Kinda no point in my opinion but whatever.
