I’ve been using this m12 hammer drill for 8 years. It punches way above its weight. Just a note though, you did a few things that hurt it’s performance. First you drilled the bit past it’s flutes which means the dust has nowhere to go. That’s why it puffed every time you backed it out. Don’t over run the flutes. In fact pecking it in and out will help dislodge the dust better and drill faster. Also, you looked to be bearing down very hard on it. Let the tool do the work. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video.
On the m18 one the instructions are insightful . There is actually a gauge built in it’s the little accordion style folding rubber between the handle . It shows how hard your supposed to press and the manual has a photo
how do you find the m12 stuff compared to the m18 gear? im interested in buying into a new system but im just unsure at the moment if to go for mil/mak/dewalt.
I have the m12 and don't let it fool you because it is slower. It is a powerful wee tool. I use it for fixing pans into concrete floors and framing to brick and that tool is bloody awesome
How has it held up mate? I’ve been toying with the idea of swapping my 18v for the 12v but I can’t imagine the 12v SDS being very durable when it comes to drilling in concrete all day..
@@i_know_youre_right_but handy to have both. But if you’re using the m12 get bigger batteries. I find you get more power out of them. The 2 amp barriers don’t have the oomf of life to make it worth having for all day use
Yet another great video, so refreshing to see people have a bit of a laugh while also being informative about tools I am genuinely interested in. As I slowly build my Milwaukee collection, it’s great having videos to help choose. Keep it up!
8:45 Let the tool and the drill working. It is a compact hammer drill. Don't need to push it with two hands. When the rotating speed is decreasing you have to decrease the pushing power till the speed is increasing. Don't push the drill until it stops.
Hello. Love the reviews. I purchased a Milwaukee 2912. It sounds like a bb is loose. I returned it and purchased another and the same noise coming from the chuck? Any advise what it maybe?
I have both the m12 sds and m18 chpx (more for the roto stop feature) but the m12 is excellent! I've drilled through lintels (with the ruwag lintel bits) which my cheap titan corded sds with 3j of breaking power couldn't manage...to be fair was probably the drill bits.
I've used the M18 SDS it's definitely a great tool but I see the value of the M12 if you're working in tight spaces or need to drill holes for anchor bolts at home.
Thus is exactly why I bought M12. Fixing holes anywhere is such a breeze. Takes a tad bit longer but it's so light and versatile. A shame it doesn't have a belt clip though.
Great set of videos guys, have a few m12 tools for around home and was wondering if i should step up to the m18, after seeing these don't feel the need now and will stay on the m12 platform
Thank you fellas for protecting yourself and being a good example for the use of PPE. Silicosis is a real threat to many of us. Plus we can't hear you blubbering on with that Bane mask you strapped to your honkers.
Honest opinion on the m12 hammer drill vs m18 hammer drill. I need batteries for m12 fuel multi tool and I can purchase kit with batteries and drill/impact or do I buy m12 batteries separate and get m18 drill I already have m18 batteries. Thanks best tool review channel I have found! Ps I’m home owner/diy not a contractor.
Another wicked video guys. I have the M18 SDS it's wicked drill even works in reverse 😂 and makes a good little breaker if you haven't got one on site. But that M12 wow what a little drill I was very impressed with it. 👌
I have both and each have their uses, back boxes or lighting is the m12 all the way, anything larger than 8mm and I’d be looking for the the bigger one if it was near by…. Larger than 12 and it’s the larger the whole way.
Careful Ryan, James was straining drilling those holes and you know what happens when he strains. 🤣🤢 Congrats on the 10K subscribers Hayes Machinery!! 👍
Wish they did a hard stone . Can you guys do a video drilling into different stone cause concrete is easiest try rock with a crystalline structure. Something that a normal hammer drill driver can’t do

Thank you for the feedback Ragged 👍🏼
Good advice, precise nothing else to say. DO not push down excessively on a hammer drill you WILL burn the bit out no matter how good they are..

m12 is better and not much weight rather than m18 heavy 😂
Loved the video I got the m18 one today very happy man 😊
Glad to hear your happy with the new tool

Thank you Michael 😎
X2 great to see the laughs and smiles !
Keep up the great work boys !
I just subscribed ! Great channel !
@@prestigemechanical3600 Thank you 🤩
All be warned. M12 has no hammer only function
New model does
I'm an electrician and I have the M18 SDS, great for chasing out socket and switch boxes.
Saves on beating my knuckles with the lump hammer 🔨
Congrats on the 10k boys . another fun demo and giveaway .
Could you try m18 hammer drill v M12 sds drill?
That M12 is a lovely bit of kit. Seems very user friendly.
Congrats to you guys on the 10k subs and to Brain for winning the giveaway 👏
It is a lovely tool, thank you 😎
I love the sound of SDS in the morning

Congrats with the 10k subscribers!
Are u guys going to be getting the new Milwaukee vacuums and the new accessories
Hopefully we will when they reach the U.K. 👍🏼
Does that bit lasts longer by pulling out more often?
You tell me 🤦🏻♂️😂
yes, a clean hole is a cool hole.. A cooler bit will not as quickly burn out
Hello. Love the reviews. I purchased a Milwaukee 2912. It sounds like a bb is loose. I returned it and purchased another and the same noise coming from the chuck? Any advise what it maybe?
Wow congratulations on 10k subscribers! Great work. And what a giveaway that is. That M12 SDS looks like a beast 🤟🏼
Thank you so much, we really appreciate the support 😇
Excellent comparison guys was a makita fan but after using milwaukee the makita drills rarely comes out to play

drill bits really do make the difference

Thank you John 🤩
Love the way your oppo thought he had all his ppe kit on but forgot his Jim Carrey...The Mask.
Still love that film ... Smoking!
All the gear no idea 😂 great film 💪🏼
Nice One James & Ryan that M12 kit looks handy Thanks again
Thank you Darren 🤩
The lightness of the M12 would be perfect up a ladder drilling holes to mount a floodlight, alarm box, camera etc. May have to invest in one
Perfect for that 👍🏼
@@MachineryNation Any idea when is it back in stock?
Thus is exactly why I bought M12. Fixing holes anywhere is such a breeze. Takes a tad bit longer but it's so light and versatile.
A shame it doesn't have a belt clip though.
Can the M12 drill holes easily in my old solid garage concrete floor, as my cordless 18v combi/hammer drill didn't even make a dent?
2 years old, but I’d assume you are still drilling that hole now if you are doing it with an m12 cordless.
@@collinsmcrae Lol,
My m12 fuel hammer drill is a beast. There are better tools. But I have never had an issue it couldn't drill.
Great Video. Can’t wait to join Milwaukee range!
you have so much fun making the videos
It maybe slower but the M12 did ok. It’s quicker than my Bosch SDS, hint hint 😉 Great give away
Thank you Al 👍🏼Does your Bosch still have the turny thing on the side you have to wind to make it go faster? 😉
@@MachineryNation it has but I’ve lost the gerbil 😁
@@almclean4835 hahaha 😂

The two ronnies are back lol and James bonds uses a peashooter ? . Well done both. Funny vid
Hahahah thank you Neil 🤩
Ps JB defo uses a pre shooter 😂
Great fun but, given the M12CH is now 9 years old & Milwaukee are upgrading a lot of M12 Fuel tools, how long before they release a newer version?
Thank you I’ve been waiting for this demo.
Fantastic video James as always.. hope all is well..
Thank you Sir Mick, love to the family 🤩
The video I’ve been waiting for! Great video fellas.
congrats on the 1000k subs m18 was a boss and m12 was cool

you guys are like the milwauke gods thanks for the vids I absolutely love them the m18 is still ridiculous even in reverse
Wow! That is the comment of the year. You have been upgraded to a pinned comment hahaha 😂
Super nice little SDS - amazing how it kept up with the M18 - again a good one James & Co

Great video series. Amazing how powerful the M12 range is.
It is loverly Ryan 🙏🏼
I’ve got the same m18 one, 12ah battery in it, like a knife though butter
Yes indeedy! I recon you could drill for oil with that!
Looks like you guys are having a great time.
We try haha 🙏🏼
love the M18 Machine. lovely tool
nice video as allways
Cheers Bernhard 😎
Nice video think I need that m12
I love Milwaukee tools. My favorite would have to be their angle grinder and hammer drill.
That just made me understand that I need to go buy the m12 sds now
You boys do have some fun nice one 👍🏻

I’m not regretting my choice, love it 🤩

Great review as always - would make a great addition to my new M12 tools.
Yes it would 😂
I would like to test power tools for Milwaukee tool co.
They won’t just give them to you, you will need to put in huge amounts of your own time and money and build a reputation to test them 👍🏼
Great video and would love to get on the m12 platform they look mint
Proper mint 🤟🏽

This made me sign up :D
I.ll watch project farm for the real comparison videos.
Hahaha, yeah I do too 😂😂
@@MachineryNation hahaha
Multi tools next?
Hmmmm 🤐 haha 🤫
It looked like the M12 was going deeper than the flute ends. Taping the longer bit want the best equalizer.
Finnally a video on the m12 rotary hammer
Great video. I would prob choose safety glasses over any of the other ppe you were wareing. Hot bits of rock in eye will definitely hurt.
Awesome video as I'm just looking to buy the M12 SDS
Perfect timing 💪🏼
Careful Ryan, James was straining drilling those holes and you know what happens when he strains. 🤣🤢
Congrats on the 10K subscribers Hayes Machinery!! 👍
Yeah John, your totally right! It was touch and go at one point there 🤦🏻♂️ thank you for your support 💪🏼🤩
LoL..... anytime brother, thanks. 🤣
I have the Milwaukee M18 SDS and it's a great tool but the M12 seems handier
These videos are good
Thank you Ollie 👍🏼
I like the M12. Why? It gives me more time to think and still gets the job done. I ask, Why not?
Go for it Walt 👍🏼
I have the little m12 you cant beat it for power in its size class .amazing little drill
It certainly is 😇
How long of bits have you used? In my line of work I use a 12 to 16 inch 1/⁴ inch bit regularly.
