I set out to look for a Sherlock Holmes 50p and have religiously asked for my change in 50p's for weeks now. With one exception, a mangled Gibraltar 50p, all I get are Brittanias! Still I do enjoy these videos, they're strangely soothing.

I've built up a relationship with a few of the checkout ladies in my local supermarket. I explained that I am a coin collector and they are more than happy to look through the till for me. The girls on customer service till seem less busy than the regular checkouts and have more time to look for commemorative coins and even keep them to one side at the back of the till. Give it a try , you might find friendly staff willing to help. I never turn down any coins even if I have them as this seems rude. These repeats make a great way to save and also give you swaps to trade with. Happy hunting.

Excellent hunt with the Olympics finds. A quick question, if you find a coin in the hunt and it is in better condition than the one in the book, do you swap them out or do you stick to the first coin you find?
