CJB - the acronym stood for Cyril, John and Bamzi - was formed as a studio project by Neo Maphaka and Cyril Mnculwane, in conjunction with the producing duo, Banzi Kubheka and John Galanakis (of Banjo fame), after the band Sound Busters split from the Hot Soul Singers. Sound Busters was made of Thami Mdluli, Charles Khumalo, Neo Maphaka, Cyril Mnculwane, Oupa and Benjamin Ball. When the other members were bound by contractual stipulations, Neo Maphaka and Cyril Mnculwane walked into the studio, and CJB was born.
Neo Maphaka was a teacher by profession, while also playing for the band Umoja. The veteran Cryl had played for Young Ones, Daffodils, the Additions as well as Kori Moraba band.
CJB's debut single, in 1984, was the classic hit Tonight I Need Somebody. However, it was Happy Birthday, released the following year, that put them on the national radar, which led to their demand at music concerts. The band would go on to release albums such as Your Love Is Power (1985); The Boss Is Back (1986); This Is My Country (1987); The Godfather (1988 ); Nazolika Mapantsula (1988); The Boss Is Always Right (1989); Get Down (1990); The Love You Need (1991).

This song indeed came in 1985 almost with that Song Night Shift....but this one reminds me in Sake Goma DRC when in the troops Bar there was a birthday party of a colleague, she works in Bloem now J Tac, the other member liked her a lot he would dance very close to her....but it was such a nice event...I think it was Oct or early Nov 2017.....note made on the 30/12/2023
