Donkey Kong Country 4 Demo 2 Gameplay - Donkey and Kiddy only

I just recently discovered this game. I've seen some people struggling with the mechanics of this game, but the reality is that it's just a bit different than the SNES ones, specifically for the jump while holding the running button (or after ricocheting on an enemy). But it's all about adapting to this new mechanic, so to show that it's not really an issue of the game in itself, I decided to try and play only with the bigger kongs (Donkey and Kiddy) to show that even with them there's no issue and that any level can be concluded with any of the kongs (I was seeing many people struggle in Fungi Forest and sometimes only be able to go through it with Dixie). In this gameplay I didn't go after all the bonuses, because as you could see, I had already finished the game. I still showed how to get some DK's and other things (like how to get Rattly in Oak Island, which from what I've seen in other gameplays, not many people realized how to get it). Enjoy!
Descobri esse jogo há pouco tempo. Vi algumas gameplays de pessoas tendo dificuldades com a jogabilidade do jogo por ser diferente do SNES, especificamente o pulo enquanto segura o botão de correr ou depois de pular em um inimigo. Mas é tudo uma questão de adaptação, então pra mostrar que da pra jogar o jogo sem problemas, decidi tentar jogar só com os kongs maiores (Donkey e Kiddy), pra mostrar que não tem problema no jogo e que dá pra passar de todas as fases com qualquer kong (vi muita gente sofrer na Fungi Forest e só conseguir com a Dixie às vezes). Nessa gameplay não me preocupei com os bônus porque já tinha terminado o jogo completo antes, mas ainda mostrei como pegar alguns DKs e outras coisas como o Rattly em Oak Island.

Pero todo es solo una cuestión de adaptación, y para mostrar que es posible jugar sin problemas, he decidido intentar jugando apenas con los kongs mayores (Donkey y Kiddy) para que vean que es posible concluir todos los levels con cualquier kong (he visto mucha gente sufrir en Fungi Forest, y algunos solo lo lograran con Dixie). En esta gameplay, no me he preocupado con los bonus pues ya había finalizado el juego antes, pero aún he mostrado como conseguir algunos DKs y otras cosas como Rattly en Oak Island.

Very creative combining, merging and mixing all 3 games to new heights. And your play on previous melodies to make new jingles and BGM was brilliant.

I feel like it was a missed opportubity that donkey wasn't unlockable in dkc2(and then bkth donkey and diddy in dkc3). They could have been required to get the "real ending" with their abilities the other kongs lack.

Some of the early levels seem messy imo, but the Fungi Forest one was really well done imo. Probably too difficult to be in the beginning, but it had a lot of very clever ideas

Amazing!!! The 1st level though is a bit shaky. It’s supposed to be a jungle… however it goes into so many things that are not jungle themed. I also feel that themes should be drawn out more & that this would perhaps make it less brain busting to create this game. Never the less the work that was put into this so far is amazing!!
Maybe this was made on porpoise to showcase the different assets in the level design and the music, but if not I feel like this game would benefit from some thematic cohesion in between levels, everything seems a little chaotic from the amount of enemies in each level to the sudden changes between one level and the next. Other than that the game play seems pretty solid
Not to mention, the music doesn't fit well for the honeycomb level. Although, I think the graveyard music was a good choice.
Thats how I felt when watching this. It goes from jungle to desert like it's nothing, then from a temple to a forest. The game could use a bit more build up on levels. A few jungle levels, then desert perhaps with temples next etc.

there is some poor communication due to language barrier so its a little hard to contribute at times but its amazing how far this project has come :)
Probably because it's a demo, Its unlike that the desert level would be just after a jungle in the final game

Esta super bonito y genial a mi me encantaba un montón el diddy Kong (dk2) era mi favorito pero viendo este... Bueno no puedo decir que reemplazada a mi diddy Kong ese seguirá siendo mi favorito ya que siempre lo jugaba y aunque lo completaba miles de veces lo seguía jugando xD
man, those custom assets are surprisingly authentic for a mod. this is definitely a labor of love

I don't think that he didn't play DK64. A fan so passioned that he creates a fan game most likely played every game of the franchise dozens of times to 100%
I think he just couldn't find a sprite. Creating one by his own is almost impossible to make it fit the style of the already existing sprites.

I like Donkey Kong playing his song on the guitar! And the Cemetary level and Fungi Forest were the best ones! The CGI spider was creepy af, but kinda cool as well, haha!

A awesome work of the DKC Fans recreate all the original trilogy of Super Nes and create a beautiful game. All the DKC Fans (and the other people then don't have Wii, Wii U or Switch) must play this fangame.
I think everyone is forgetting this is a demonstration that means a lot of different things, but none the less the engine looks great this has got me and others excited I hope it'll be able to run on a real Snes and I also hope this doesn't get abandoned. Best of luck on your path of development. And btw some of the levels looked REALLY good.

This is amazing!! I loved oak island, fungi Forrest, and the kremetary. they did a great job of mashing dkc1,2,and 3 together and I didn't mind what others refer to as haphazard level design. Really enjoyed this. Yeah oak island is amazing. Reminds me of evenings I've spent with my girlfriend in the woods. 😆💖🍄
Ok yeah this is amazing. I can't stop watching it. Anyone who says this is a mess is just someone that can't be pleased. My only criticism would be the outer world screen where you navigate from level to level. That was I admit a little helter skelter and silly but I'm just in love with this demo overall. I wish it were something I could buy for snes. Oak island and the kremetary are instant classics.

I like the idea of having the 4 Kongs as a choice from the DK barrels. I love the tone of the music and the atmosphere of comfort and intrigue they bring. Brings back the general vibe and feel of the true DKC games.
I hate the level designs, no proper theme. And having nearly every enemy from the old games in every level is not a good idea imo.
Well done tho. Love the back ground, and music from that forest at dusk level 😄✌️

Estoy fascinado con este juego.
Cuando vi el preview del vídeo pensé que solo habían reparchado algunas cosas o que era un simple mod del juego usando cosas que ya estaban en el código de programación del juego. Pero veo que se han tomado muchas molestias y han creado varias cosas que yo nunca Vi en otro DK. Además de crear música nueva solo para el juego. Me agradó mucho ver esto.
Lo único malo es que me di cuenta por allá al final del vídeo que el ejecutable se pega mucho aún, no sé si es del reproductor de RUclips o no pero habían ocasiones en que se pegaba la imagen del vídeo, pero en el audio escuchabas que aún se estaba ejecutando y que seguías avanzando.

it's not good gameplay wise. graphics wise, it looks like the previous games albeit some parts don't mesh well.

The level design in this is great. Does this game have bonus rooms where you have to break open walls to get in?
Obviously a DKC hack with mixed elements from the series among new elements & animations added to it,sure those levels do look bizar but it’s amezing how they were able to mix graphics from both the DKC series together in a level all atonce.

I wonder what the pros and cons of having all 4 is though? Donkey Kong and Kiddy are essentially the same, Dixie brings the flight to the table, and Diddy's... Here? Like I'm trying to wrap my head around it and DK/Dixie combo is probably the best option

Impressive and some real cool compositions between levels (ruins with sunset background, sick!), but like most other people have said, levels are too rife with too many different enemies.
