Fellow Jamaican here, living in Belize. I know exactly what is coming. Hurricane Gilbert is still fresh in memory. 12th September, 1988. I was 12 when that happened.

We are in the Grand Cayman and it's sunny and hot! We are prepared. Our building standards are strong; all newer homes need hurricane-rated windows or hurricane shutters and straps on our roofs, but storm surges are always a worry. Boats are out of the water, and batteries and generators are all ready!

Although in 1988, September I wasn't there for Hurricane Gilbert, but this looks like another Hurricane Gilbert that landed in my country in 1988.😮😮

I fear that my Jamaican people are not prepared for this. I remember Gilbert and nothing could have prepared us for what came. I live in the US but my heart is home with my people. 🙏🏾

i live in ga . , we usually get winds and storms as well as clouds from the west last night though still much of the day = east atlanta , still winds comming from " South " to northwest = shidted east quite a while ago , hours now , slowly turning back from west but still getting big south to north bursts
Praying for Jamaica. Keep your Bibles open to the Book of Psalms for your protection. There is power in the Word of God and the Psalms are filled with Power. A closed Bible is just a book, an open one is so much more.

I take this weather report with a grain of salt. In Jamaica the weather report from our Met office dont think hurricane Beryl will make land fall in Jamaica. It will past near the island.
Yes, this could stay off shore, it could make landfall. This does not change anything on how people should prepare for this storm though. Everyone there needs to take action and prepare for this storm now!

Dominica suffered extensive damages from Maria September 2017 from 8pm till 5am and still had aftermath ongoing damages to next day,I live on that island check your records and Check you Brian the weatherman you'll ain't that accurate
