  • "it is not clear why we choose the fire pathway
Where we end is not the way that we had planned"
    the war has officially begun
they just make me lose my mind, and olivia's performance??? she kill it!
the fracture of their relationship is killing me

Another reason why the scene where Alicent and Rhaenyra grab each other in 107 is so powerful to me is the thought of - when was the last time they touched each other? It must've been years ago when they were still friends. And now for the first time in years they touch each other and it's with violence instead of love/care. I love convoluted dynamics between women.

it's so interesting how both stiffen as we approach war time, testing their own limits and how far they get, rhaenyra more intentionally (having learnt from her past's mistakes) alicent by slipping from unleashing things she didn't calculate(after her initial measured steps) I love how they both spiral into chaos, sometimes the romance is powerful and angsty and all between a couple but there is nothing more bitter than a rotten friendship that goes wild, lovely video!!!!

God, this is just epic!! My emotions are being attacked. 😭 The parallel @ 1:00-1:15 hurts so good. Alicent staring at Rhaenyra from afar like no time has changed. *I know what you are* And the part @ 1:25-1:48 broke me. And this is why I can't help but sympathize with Alicent. The way Olivia gave a gut wrenching, raw performance. She literally slayed it! 👏👏👏 She and Emma's on-screen chemistry are insanely off-the-charts 🔥🔥🔥 #Rhaenicent

Even though Alicent seems like an unstable and paranoid mother who has no control over her emotions , her jealousy towards Rhynaera is quite understandable. Rhaenyra seems to have gotten her way with most things. That annoys Allicent alot.

Excuse me, but what would happen to you if your son was deprived of his eye, and his offenders were not even punished? The boy is the king's son, but Viserys is obsessed with Rhaenyra. At court, she is openly laughed at, a minority sees her as the future queen. Yes, Viserys loves her, but this blind love will literally lead his house to collapse. He should not have had other children, or still listen to his lords and give power to his eldest son.

I lean towards team Black side, yet I can't help but feel for Ali in that scene. Her son was attacked 4 on 1 and seriously injured, yet Rae goes full mom offensive mode first and says that the victim should be "sharply questioned" over saying the truth in a heat of a moment. Ali's reaction is justified: "my son has lost his eye over an insult?" (yes, Aemond was going to hit Jace with a rock, but Jace pulled out the knife first, while Aemond went for the rock to have a level in uneven fight in the first place).
And then the princess or her sons don't get punished at all - everybody's safe and sound, and only Ali's son was left without an eye for nothing. Rae walked completely dry out of water as she always does, and even dares to put a blame on the victim.
Threatening to cut off another kid's eye was a step too far - yet I personally got the impression (which might be wrong of course) that Alicent didn't mean it and Rae was the one she really wanted to hurt, or at least get a reaction from her.
The line "And now you take my son's eye and even to that you feel entitled" broke my heart, and that is kind of true - Rae didn't show any kind of remorse or pity towards the kid. I know that Alicent is a total cunt in the book, but with the show's one I deeply sympathise, at least for now.

@@alexass8987 why should the king suddenly give the title of heir to a boy child? When for years he named his very first born daughter the heir who is also much older. She never felt acknowledged, and that is mainly because she is female. How would you grow up if your worth as a person and heir is constantly questioned and threatened?

    • @alexass8987
      @alexass8987 Год назад +19

@@nean3075 Because Rhaenyra's talent as an heir raises big questions. Of course, it is foolish to compete with little boys at the moment. But this is not a plus for the Rhaenyra. All these years, instead of delving into the affairs of the state and following her reputation, she openly slept with Strong, gave birth to bastards, the truth about which EVERYONE knows. And of course, it will not end well for her or for the children. Most of the lords did not support her during the life of the king. And he continued to act on her side, forgetting that he would not live and protect her forever. I really feel sorry for Rhaenyra, she showed great promise in her youth. And now she will move forward only because of Daemon, who will act as a rescuer.

I know a thing or two about going too far. For context, my colleague and I took a young worker to her office about his filter and the way he casually touched coworkers (arms and shoulders). He was always an outgoing, tactile guy, but I think I made him feel like a handsy creep. I didn't realize where _I_ went wrong until he got into a car accident. According to the news, by the time he could talk, he told his doctor that his anxiety and shame from work must've caused a panic attack. I get it. _I_ caused it. The news didn't specify anything about an office lecture, but I have reason to believe that how I mishandled the guy led to his guilt-caused disorientation. Maybe if I'd have just been a little more sensitive and respectful---and more compromising and less restrictive---he wouldn't have crashed in shame. I was a jerk. Some parts I was right about, some parts I wrong. For example, I said to my colleague, "Is there anything you want to add?" That was so insensitive. Looking back, I don't think his touches were _that_ big a deal. Such thins can _absolutely_ be innocent and casual. He is not a creep. He is a good guy who just made a few unintentional mistakes. I think he might have ASD; that could explain it. It's sad how we're not always patient with the people who sometimes "act wrong" socially but never meant to. Well, how I acted was much more wrong, and I'm going to apologize to the poor guy when I can see him.

Surprisingly, I'm on Alicent's side. I know that a lot of things will happen, but so far she is clearly winning. Rhaenyra disappoints me. There is a strong feeling that without Daemon, she would turn into a shadow and disappear with her bastards. With all the privileges that life had bestowed upon her, Rhaenyra drowned herself with her own hands. Unfortunately, she caught on too late. Paradoxically, it is the girl from a strange house who, being a prisoner of someone's desires all her life, is much more firmly on her feet than our beloved princess. I'm sorry, but the decision to have three bastards is disappointing. As a character, Rhaenyra is not bad, but as a ruler, she does not have the flair and mind of a ruler. Thank you Daemon for being you. I'll wait for the adult Aemond. Good luck greens! It's fun to write this knowing the ending. However, green team, go ahead:D

Obviously Rhaenyra and Laenor had an understanding. Her husband knows that they aren’t his kids and obviously he doesn’t care as much as Alicent does. He is gay and his duty is to produce heirs; which he ain’t doing.

Did I miss something? It was Viserys and Corey's who forced the marriage between Rhaenrya and gay Laenor due to Viserys mistakes. Then put pressure on Rhaenrya to have children. Rhaenrya was a child who had no say. Alicent did. But decided because she married for duty that Rhaenyra should have as well. The old men Alicent chose for potential husband's for Rhae proved that. She is a paranoid and psychologically damaged because of her and her father's choices. She was already pulling off her nails before she married a older man who loved his dead wife.
