Most modern bike riders complain about the old blades sc28, sc33 suspension, but forget that it was and it is one of the best road bikes. Not track but road. It’s comfortable but stiff and responsive enough to go very fast very long distance.
For track it would need stiffer springs and more aggressive shimming on the pistons. But as super street bike it was and still is phenomenal.
And yes I’m biased as I own one.

Seems plenty tight for me, I’m sure with upgrade it does anything you need.
Fork swaps are common on these and how hard is a rear shock if you can swap forks.

The seat and tail piece is from a Yamaha R6, unfortunately it isn't a straight swap and the subframe will need to be changed. A good welder will be able to help you. 👍
