      Chuck you keep growing as an artist...your motivation...determination...drive and desire to keep learning is motivational...all artists need to learn from you...not painting nor composition....brushwork...your drive to keep learning...God bless you Chuck...have been watching you from day one...
      And...I enjoy the new format of your videos with voice over...you've even grown as a film producer...editing and so on...I know it also takes alot of time and work to post a video.
      You deserve all the support and more. Bless you
      At 1:51 lol I was going to watch the video then comment again...but you said it ...I thought it as you said you used one brush...then...you say what's exactly a great learning experience...there's no special brush...its all from the knowledge...time put in and learning from each piece.
      The color mixing is just wonderful...mixing color ...and what it appears on canvas from the artist is what makes each artist unique and stand out.
      Beautiful greys...Chuck...just great work.

      I'm wondering why under painting is necessary? I would like to learn to paint, but everyone seems to say something different, and that make's it difficult to know what to use, and how to do it! I have always been artistic but painting is something my father was great at, but he passed away so I can't learn from him!

    This right here is what makes me try. I'm only just beginning and I have much to learn and far to go but this kind of thing right here, this amazing, beautiful piece of art keeps me going and motivated to learn and improve myself. My goal is to be able to make art that makes someone go, "Wow, that was created by a human? Amazing." Because this right here made me say that. Truly stunningly beautiful.

    • @lucygray6162
      @lucygray6162 4 года назад +5

      @@AngryGnome87 Bob was a lovely guy and reached a lot of happy people, but his "art to hang over the couch" was never meant to help others progress to the upper levels of art. It was entertainment, and allowed hobby painters to make a pretty picture for their home by copying him. Most fine artists are required to master drawing first so their painting has a firm foundation. For those of us not superbly gifted like Chuck, it can take years to reach that level, and those years should be looked at as a learning experience, not a chore.

    • @James.99
      @James.99 4 года назад +1

      @@lucygray6162 I have to disagree. Bob Ross is a great starting point for learning about perspective and composition. I started out painting like Bob Ross and (thanks to the internet) within a year I was already in Michael James Smith territory, painting my "Lassen Peak Masterpiece" on a little 12x12canvas from a reference photo...lol. My next goal is to paint bigger, at least 18x24 from now on.

    Such an awe inspiring painting as usual. I so wish I was 40 instead of 70 so that I could learn to paint at least half as well as you do. Brings back memories of living on the farm with a thunderstorm brewing. Thank you so much for all of the inspiration that you give us.

    Oh my goodness.... this is incredible!!! I can't believe how realistic you got the clouds to look, and the shadows in and on everything. This whole piece simple took my breath away. Thank you so much for inspiring me Chuck!

    My in-laws love southern Utah, they go every year. I haven't been there yet, but this has inspired me to do so. Nothing shows the power of nature like a storm.

    Hi Chuck! I have always enjoyed watching videos on how to paint, especially Bob Ross, but there’s something so realistic about your attention to detail that captivated the audience. Your attention to lighting and shadows brings the picture to life and makes one feel like they can walk right in! I painted your mountain scene with the cabin and the bear for my mom one year, and she loved it! Of course, it didn’t have near as much detail as yours, but by looking at how you paint I’ve been able to learn so many techniques! I’ve been painting since about age 7, and I’m amazed by what I’ve learned from your videos! Thanks, Chuck!😃

    Hi Chuck, I have been so motivated with watching you paint. I've learned a great deal with your talking the way through your paintings. Clouds are always a challenge and your handling of the storm clouds is amazing! Thank you for keeping us so involved in your work.

    Such an atmospheric painting and very emotive. I love hearing about your process and watching the 'whole' emerge. I think the light in this painting is spectacular. The birth of a vista into which you cannot help but be drawn.
