  • NASA Langley researchers are developing the next generation of space technology. In this episode, we explore Orion's Launch Abort System, or LAS, that’s designed to keep astronauts safe during the launch of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. A key LAS researcher speaks from the control room of an active wind tunnel where we’re testing SLS.
NASA will put LAS under a full-stress test on July 2 called Ascent Abort Test 2 (AA-2) to qualify it for spaceflight. Watch AA-2 live on NASA TV starting at 6:40 a.m. July 2: go.nasa.gov/29rEJNJ
