    To each their own. It was cheaper than the other presses I took into consideration. Lee wasn't one of them.

    I have an original T-Mag. The refinements on this one are logical, though I never had issues with the turret moving so no real need for the stabilizing rod. The lever to move the turret and remove the nut looks nice. I had issues with Lyman's priming system. To be fair, that may have been me, but it was annoying enough that I went to hand priming. Good press and would recommend it, especially for pistol shooters!

      Same here with the priming. I decap on a single stage press and prime with a hand primer.
      I use a Lee automatic powder drop with
      the t-mag set up exclusively for .45ACP.
      Like the aspect of being able to view the powder in the brass before seating the bullet.

    I just got one on close out. I use to have a tmag I and there was too much runout on the turret but the adjustment screw on the II seems to take care of that. Thank you

      The Reloadin Room no problem. That’s what were her for right?!

    I have the T-Mag it unlike the T-Mag 2 it has no adjustment rod to remove flex, that ain't a deal breaker but when doing rifle cartridge's there is a few thousand's OAL difference in loaded ammo so I tend to seat on a separate press when working up loads. but it don't really effect accuracy that much either way.

    I just want to add that the turret handle can be used to remove the turret nut instead of a wrench as a hole runs through the nut. Also would like to add that the primer tool for the press failed on mine and I found it easier to use a hand primer. Having bought one I think I would use it even if the press primer functioned well as the hand prime is just easier to use. I have been reloading magnum rifle cartridges with this press for 3 yrs with no problems - and I am fussy. Good press.

      Very good press I use a hand primer as well. The primer for the press hasn't ever been open. This press has never failed me. Just upgraded to a Dillon XL650 and I still can't bring myself to get rid of this one. I'll keep it forever.

    No particular reason for the Redding. It was all that was available at the time. Yes I use the Lyman powder measurer. My how to reload 357 SIG video details the equipment I use. Thanks for the comment.

    I just got one of these from a friend.
    The Lee Pro1000 progressive press puts this and the Dillon 550 to shame.
    I’ve got 2 of the Lees, a Dillon and this Lyman And I can crank out 10 on the pro 1000 for every one on these other presses.

      You are comparing apples to oranges bud. That’s like me comparing my maxed out XL650 to your Lee 1000. They are not even in the same ballpark. What’s your point?

    Great video. I just picked up this press for $125 and included a bunch of other things like the number 55 powder measure, two tumblers and a few odd and ends. It came with a 40 s&w die set that I need to replace as I shoot mostly 6.5, 45acp and 5.56. How do you like your setup?

    Hi there when you lower the handle to the lower point, do you have a play between the dies to the lower bar where you sit the casing?
    Because I just got my lest then a month ago and is something I'm not happy with! Because it has the play...

    The ram moves when you raise it to the up position?

    i would've gotten the lee classic turret press. Much cheaper, and the auto index is great. No manually rotating the turret

    All dies have a universal thread so yes Lee dies will work. That's what I use.

      Thanks. My lee classic turret indexing assembly crapped out on me finally. Not too happy, but the pieces are only a few bucks and they may send new ones free anyway. Used it as a manual index and didn't really see much of a decrease in speed when comparing it to the press when the auto index was working. May invest in a lyman t mag 2 since you can use the lee dies and the manual indexing seems to be around the same speed as auto index

      Also is there a priming system on this press? Was looking around for the info and can't find the answer to that question

      You can buy the indexing parts for a few dollars on Titan Reloading. If you don't like the indexing just pull out the indexing rod.

      Jim Oksvold yeah i'm good. Just bought and extra long screw and a nut and tightened it down and it's been fine since. Really want to get a progressive but had too many issues with a dillon 550b (yes dillon) and lee loadmaster. Seems the turret presses are the best tradeoff for speed, simplicity and ease of use. If lyman made this press with auto indexing, i'd have no issue picking it up.

    do you use the primer feeder? I don't know why they switched from the primer feeder that was attached to the arm, but I digress. I kind of wish they'd go back to that. It made things so much easier!

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  8 лет назад

      I don't. Never even installed it on this press. I use a hand one if I'm using this press.

      +Shooting MOA no but thanks for the offer. I want to keep everything together in the event that I sell the press. This way it will be complete.

    If you are going to hold the camera by hand , hold it STEADY. Camera shake really hurts the quality of this video.
    Good demo.

    With the 357 sig over all length stretch like bottle neck rifle rounds over time?

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  8 лет назад +1

      All brass stretches over time. I always measure the case length after resizing each time. Some need to be trimmed and some do not. It's the only pistol caliber I measure each and every time. Some cases actually are shorter after. Not sure how it happens. Long story short always measure so each batch is consistent.

    Like you said "much cheaper"

    • @trumpeteer211
      @trumpeteer211 10 лет назад +1

      As in price "much cheaper". So since you paid more for your press and it's a manual index, it's better than a auto index made of the same material? The auto index speeds it up considerably compared to going by hand. It's been 100% reliable. Solid cast iron. Lee gets a bad rep on account of their progressive presses. They did a great job with that press. I'm not saying lyman is a bad press. All I'm saying is that paying more for less features doesn't make sense. I've loaded over 20k on my lee classic turret and never had a single issue.

    Wow, sensitive ain't ya. He is just trying to help you make a better video. Info is good, camera technique needs improvement. I would say the same thing. Don't take it so personal. Makes you look bad.
