One of my favorite details from this game is at 19:43 when the medics rush a wounded soldier past everyone and the arbiter stares. Since the Arbiter comes from the covenant, he’s never seen any soldiers receive medical attention before. There’s no rescue efforts for them. Covenant soldiers are expendable. To show him reacting to probably the first time he’s ever seen an effort to revive/rescue a soldier this way is such a good detail that most people overlook.

Wow years of playing and never noticed this. If that scene was done without him pausing before turning his whole body and attention away from the conversation to the medevac team people would have wrote it off but that attention to detail man, Bungie did it so well.

we have finally arrived to the greatest game of all time. this game had it all. campaign, multiplayer and custom games. if you didn't play custom games as a kid i feel bad for you and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemies. i was in elementary school. after school would head to my local 7/11 and stock up on snacks' and energy drinks to prepare for the night. it was truly a time of piece and harmony. would hop on and play all kinds of custom games with a full lobby of friends. I have still yet to find the joy this game gave me. I am haunted by its majesty.

Nah, he's written way less interesting in Halo 3 then in 2. In H2 he was a scheming politician who was manipulative AF and clearly had a hidden goal. In Halo 3 he's just a raving cult leader.

HELL YES! My favorite of the trilogy. Halo 3 has the best launch graphics, best OST, best story, and best cutscenes. My favorite cutscene is the last one in this video. Such a badass cutscene.

Halo 2 did such a good job setting up the covenant and giving a bigger picture of their lives that you almost prefer Arbiter's journey over Master Chief himself when shit hit the fan. I'm sure I speak for everyone when we first got out hands on halo 2 it was like playing a movie. Halo 3 overall is the better game but for campaign Halo 2 takes it.

It absolutely does not have the best AR, the H3 AR is a peashooter that's an outright liability to use. Litterally any other AR in the series is better. I'd also strongly argue Halo 2 has better missions: Yes, "The Ark" is amazing and "The Covenant" is the best mission in the series, but aside from those "Sierra 117", and maybe "Tsavo Highway", the other missions in 3 are just sorta good. By contrast, Cairo, Outskirts, Metropolis, Delta Halo, Regret, Gravemind, Uprising and Great Journey are all excellent in Halo 2, which also has a much more fleshed out and better written narrative.

The cutscene at the end man... we didn't realize how good we had it while we were living it. The last fight for Earth was done so well for the time periods tech. As a kid in 07 In like 4th or 5th grade I didn't really understand the significance of it all. Now the story of this game makes me cry as an adult.
This game nails how daunting it is to be spartan II. They’re asked to go on the craziest missions, with very little backup. Usually everything that can go wrong, does go wrong, many people die, and they just gotta keep moving. They keep coming in clutch. And then they get asked to do it all over again with little to no downtime.
