I sacrificed nearly my entire support system. A whole community. My mentor, several good friends and someone I thought was a best friend. In each case, they didn't TRULY support me in the way I needed at the time.
It may even be that the people now, don't support me in the way I really need it; but I'm moving; and they've been helping in other ways.
I'm learning to pull back on my generosity and save it for those who truly appreciate it and will use it to push themselves forward. Otherwise, all that love and devotion and loyalty has been turned inward.

@@chartydurrant744 I think it's gotta be a case by case basis. I'm sure most people I come across are doing the best they can, given where they're at in life or in their soul's journey. I feel like an ancient soul who's had the chance to see and experience much; so it might not be fair to fault them so much.
It's difficult to judge that; so I try not to; and simply come at it as we're not fit for one another. It's about resonance; not necessarily right or wrong; but about values and priorities, and growing apart.
I like to think of it as notes or tones going together to form chords. Each chord has its own character and creates a certain synergy. It's hard to say that even a discordant sounding chord is bad or wrong; because if we ruled them out, much of the music that we enjoy would sound bland, or be very limited in scope and depth.
Each person can be likened to a tone or a set of tones; and depending on your life path, and where you're at in your soul journey, what you're truly called towards... some synergies will FEEL good; and others not so much.
Black and white dualistic thinking is easy to engage in; but it seems that if we are to truly heal; we need to forgive or reframe the way we look at this stuff.
Seen that way, I can let them go and live their own lives; because I'm not here to determine their path for them.
Real's also a difficult thing to define; because we all play roles to some degree. Most of the population deals in white lies and game playing. We're all manipulators of one another. I think as we wake up, we can begin to accept this nature, while also embracing a higher nature... a striving for that not because we SHOULD; but because we feel the urge to.

I'll just say that if we can think of ourselves as tones that form different chords; and depending on the song you want to play, some chords are appropriate and others aren't. It's about relationship between the pieces. Music and our lives are composed of SOUND and the SILENCE in between, and the RHYTHM of that.
Someone long ago summed it up as, 'It's all good in the hood.' If we can remember that the Universe was designed by something MUCH smarter and more powerful and infinitely wiser than us... then we might be able to let go of some of the need to control, surrender and realize that EVERYTHING has its place... otherwise it never would have been created in the first place.
I don't know if this is true or not; but it helps me sleep at night. It helps me come from an empowered and forgiving place; and that feels right to me in this phase of my life for now.
But I'm always open to be proven wrong and to update my values and beliefs if needed.

~ My right eye was accidentally scratched by one of my children and it was causing a slight double vision.
~ The double vision is completely gone. And I had to go back to wearing a previously worn pair of glasses because my vision reverted back to the better eye sight that I had.
