Coming back after a few months I’ve realized that this take on the game was really terrible, the game is not everything I’ve mentioned and I’ve definitely made several mistakes in this video. However, this is from the viewpoint of newer players, older players don’t deal with these issues often. I will make a remastered take on this game in the future.
I forgive you, we all make mistakes. I am starting to have an easier time against meta, but I had to deal with this problem twice. I basically got a new device and deleted the game on my old device without using the transfer code, loosing all my data (and I had g21). It gets easier to deal with people that rely on new Kaiju when you are starting to get your 4 star Kaiju to Lvl 3 (Lvl 3 regular destroyah really helped me). You do make a lot of good point through the video that I can definitely say that I have experienced many times first hand.
It's not that they don't care about balance, it's that you have to realize that you're gonna lose because you're new, don't know what you are doing, and are not gonna have acquired the same amount of resources and have had as many chances and good pieces dropping for you than someone who has been playing for 6 months, much less people who have been playing for years. I'm telling you, this isn't an immediate gratification game, even when you pay $6 for benefits of the pass (which are huge). Also, at season reset, you're probably sent back down to 32. There are true arena 32 players who are new ... and there are the ones who were at 42 when the season ended. they're gonna keep kicking you back down in early season until they can get enough wins to rank of your matchmaking, then you'll find more fair battles. Has been that way from the start. in their attempts to set everyone back to a decent level while still giving top ranking players levels to work up through again, it can lump some vastly different account-power players together. Once enough top tier players make it into kotm+, it will give the lower place players more room to breathe and move up. You will win and you will lose and you will find that place that you can keep rebounding to but can't pass- that is your true rank as a player, given your skill and what you have managed to collect, while shrewdly decide who to level and who not to. it's just... natural. Your complaints are mostly along the lines of: I'm a level 5 free to play mmorpg character, I did good in the early areas so I rushed ahead without equipping the best things I found and got ganked by a level 20 monster/player, this game sucks and is unfair.

Of course I’m a free to play player, and despite bringing my most powerful level 18 and 19 units, I still lose every matchup, so unless you have any other ideas then I’m all ears because I’ve already deleted the app so there’s no point of yapping your soul out on this one video trying to desperately defend a mobile game, just ignore the video, leave your dislike, blah blah blah

Where do i begin? Firstly, the reason new units are higher level is because they would be unusable for people when they are fighting other players as the new character would be annihilated by level 10+ 4 stars, not to mention you can get these units for free (they literally gave new players 4 space godzilla pieces for free this month) and they also gave players practically a free character with the mog shards. And if your wondering why you're losing, it's mainly because you're using terrible units. The B2 stealth bomber is the worst unit in the game. And trust me when i say the game gets a lot funner as you get higher level characters. By the time you have level 5-ish 4 star units, the game gets significantly more fun. There are no units in the game at the moment that will give you a free win. All characters can be used effectively in some way, even the worst units like the stealth bomber. There are better units than others, but that is unavoidable. No character is broken, its just the fact that they are higher level during their season. (Which isnt a big issue considering 90% of the time at least one of those units can be obtained by simply joining the game each day, you dont even need to battle once) i will say they could tone down the amount the levels that are raised for lower ranks. I do, however, agree that the matchmaking could be significantly better. Trust me, the balancing isn't that bad, its just that early-game is difficult, once again not perfect balancing, but not THAT bad. The main issue is more that you get faced against more powerful people But thats just my thoughts, if ya want tips, here are some. Firstly, I'd recommend to stop using stealth bomber. I'd also recommend to spend your gems on speeding up maps, as its more worth it to do that, also do the monthly points event, to get more 4 star units, also try to log on every day and claim maps, go on more expeditions, and claim your log in rewards. Sir melee has more (and better) tips then i do, and also has monthly tier lists so you know how good units are. But yea, thats all i gotta say.
Everyone playing the game started off with nothing. There are whales in every game. Cant complain when people have played it from the start. There are multiple opportunities to build yourself up.
I still play the game even tho I know it's trash lol. My biggest gripe about this game is aside from the meta 4 meta characters each month is the matching system. You're constantly pitted against Opponents who spend large amounts of money on this game giving you 0 chance of winning and when you have lost 2 or 3 times to players you'll have to fight AI's which for me is the biggest slap to the face just so they can remind you how pathetic you are for not spending money to upgrade your characters. It would've been a good game if it was a strategy game not pay to win.
I enjoy the game, but as a free2play player it’s very hard to get to even grand champion (I finally got to it in the -1.0 season). And I’ve been playing since the original SP collab season.
Ive been lucky to start playing as soon as it came out, im a completely f2p player although i lost my account 3 times I've been able to play enough where i can stand up to whales now but i see your problems with the game, and i do agree, the broken overpower characters that have an increased level was added so that the kaiju could actually get used in matches in the top arenas but for lower leagues it does get frustrating.
I recommend watching Sir Melee’s video on tips for beginners. It’s very helpful. Also a lot of your units are too high and not good. Look up a tier list
I quit this game months ago, and seriously, this is the biggest and laziest cash grab that toho has done, the matches never actually connect due to 'connection errors' and it just sucks overall.
Kiryu was released WAY more than a year ago, and at the time, level buffs for season units didn't exist yet. Having the level up boost scale based on arena ranking has been a thing for a while now, but you don't even know that it scales with arena rank and you assume it's a flat level, lmao. Not only that, everyone in your rank pull get the same level buff, so you're at no disadvantage. Letting older units become highlighted with a smaller level boost is very, very, very new. The new Kiryu HAT literally released last month, so already, I know you didn't do your research. Maybe there was a season where it gained the evolved form a year ago? It's a very old unit, so it didn't get any level buffs then, cuz old units didn't get level buffed until a few months ago. The new units are definitely not OP either. Plus, they give you at least piece for free, and a few dupes if you buy the $6 battle pass, and a bunch of maps that have a slightly increased pick up rate (still trash, the 2300 gem maps in the shop are the same). "Why aren't my level 1 units winning against level 5 units??" Really my guy? Aside from the obvious reasons, the first five levels is the highest growth rate, because before, 4 stars powered up at the same rates as lower rarity units,but were far rarer, so you never could use a new unit cuz even if you pulled it, a lvl 1 was gonna get clobbered by level 10 silver units. they adjusted it so that the 4 star units grow relatively faster in the first 5-10levels and then their growth rates per level slow down more and more. Either way, everyone has to slowly grind their way up. The drop rates really haven't changed since the beginning, and free gmaterials lets you choose any unit to upgrade, so that will help players to focus on raising key specific units. Man, I'm only 2 minutes in and your ignorance so far only promises for this to be the tip of the iceberg.

I just quit the game today and it feels so refreshing. I was so tired of losing all the time and dealing with the unbalanced match-making. The egg mode for this month was the breaking point. I played the game for nearly two years and this video shares the exact frustrations I have.
I dont understand why you think this take is bad now. You got everything spot on. I JUST deleted the app. The game is just mid. The only way i can win matches is if i am fighting against bots. The stuff you said in this video still holds up pretty well

This game is amazing in the beginning it's super difficult but if you stay committed and grind the game you can catch up and learn tactics and strategies that best work for you
I actually find KU to be a bit more balanced than this game due to the requirements not all being equal and having different matchups where in this game one unit can counter everything, but I can see why you asked lol
I remember the moment when they added monster x/keizer ghidorah. If u saw this kaiju during his season in enemy's deck, u can give up. Monster x was fast, has ranged and melee attack which, if im not wrong, push ur kaiju away. Its like fw godzilla, but much stronger. And even if u was able to kill monster x, there's no way u could deal with keizer ghidorah. Also fast, very strong beam and melee which fking heals him. And there's no way u could try to use ranged kaiju to not give him an opportunity to heal, cuz after each beam hes coming closer, and starting to use healing melee.
Actually there are a lot of examples like this. Three evas, shin camen rider, gmk godzilla, monster zero. It was very hard to deal with them when they were fresh and just came into the game. One deployment of one of them was enought to take 1/4 of ur main kaiju hp, even if u tried to defend urself
I quit back when they introduced Guardian Ghidorah. I just got fed up with the meta, between the Godzilla Earths, Minus One's explosion, Gigan 2004, and Mothra 2019. It just lost its thunder to me and became boring. Not to mention that I was wasting precious time that I could pour into other things like writing my stories or playing other games. It was fun while it lasted, though. I did love the Ultraman and Evangelion stuff. I should thank this game for sparking my interest in Evangelion. Sometimes, I have considered returning to the game, especially with the new GxK stuff, but I feel like it could be a nightmare to try and get back everything I had. Some stuff would be impossible at this time, like Ultraman and the Evas. In the end, I think I'm better off without Battle Line.
I like Godzilla battle line. Its my favorite Mobile Godzilla game. BUT i definitely agree with you. The Game is completely unbalanced. I started to understand that the game is unfair when they added Final Wars. Final wars Godzilla was pure BS against me. It literally countered HALF OF ALL MELEE UNITS.
Another example of a kaiju being broken on release, not only can it melee but also beam?? It countered pretty much everything on release from what I remember
I used to played this game alot, then I quit the game because of how broken most of the teams were. Back then I had the Kamen Rider units, Kiryu and an Eva iirc on my team. Most of the units are just hell to fight against especially Eva 01's AS LEADERS, and after they added MV Ghidorah and Mothra I quit. This is 100%, one of the worst Godzilla Games ever.
Match Ranking and connection is one the things That GBL suffers From, and the fact some players already got the new units is very annoying, tho i respect your opinions about the game

I dropped the game around the time of the Monster Zero event. It was just a better Hesei Ghidorah that didn't need to evolve and costed around the same.

if you have issues with the prices (like buyable units or passes) DO NOT play JWA (Jurassic world alive) literally, the most expensive buyable item in the game costs like 250 BUCKS which may be diff in ur location (I live In oceania) but the gameplay is absolutely HORRENDUS, decent models, confusing attack effects, occasional model glitches and for some reason P2W everywhere, in fact the battlepass for JWA costs 30 BUCKS, and if you want the "GrAnD PrEmIuM" pass (extra rewards) its doubles that price.....

I can definitely see your point. There is a pay-to-win thing going on for sure. But at the same time, it definitely gets better as you progress, even as a non-spending player. One thing I'd suggest to Toho though is giving more incentive to players for playing fair matches. I can't remember the last time I played one, because there isn't really a reason to. A break between seasons would probably be a good idea too honestly. I don't think it's nearly as bad as you're saying, but I also completely see where your frustration is coming from. It is very difficult for new players.

Also, people will be putting them in their decks as soon as they get them... Not because they're overpowered, but there are event missions that get you free rewards for a certain number of wins with them in your deck. So a piece that is both a unit and leader will have two sets of missions- win 15 with them in your deck, and win 15 times with them as your leader. you can do both at once if you win 15 matches as your leader, if you do it as a unit, you'll have to do another 15 wins as the leader, so double the pain in the ass time. The gold rate up maps at the end of 15 and whatever title may come in the middle somewhere are usually the main goals. Veterans and whales with grind those missions out as soon as possible and then go back to using their real units, because even boosted they're actually a dead weight in the team. They're new, not OP unless you're a new player, and then... why not use them and figure out good team combos with them? figure out the strat that can beat them, especially when you can do the same thing and just have better choices of units and make better plays.

I ain’t gunna lie, most of the time I get rolled, it’s as simple as they have higher levels than I do. Yeah it’s annoying how beefy the new units get when they are launched, but at the same time, it’s nothing the end of the world. Ive been playing since the Eva update, never spent a buck, and a lot of units are kinda bad even with the upgraded levels. Like, mill goji was ok, it’s just not exactly the best choice. Same with orga and kiryu. I still think the game is flawed as fuck though. I agree with most of this
Looking at your rank, you are mostly fighting new players and bots. Also you are using the cheesiest strats with these boosted lvl mons and kiryu leader. 😂 Also if you used that strat and the next season rolls over. You went too high. You should have at least lvl 2-4 4 star, lvl 10-15 gold and lvl 20+ bronze to get into the 40 ranks.
Laugh all you want, but the only reason I use kiryu as my leader is because as a unit he sucks and because Absolute Zero is my only winning option at this point, same with my level boosted units, so before you criticize me how about try watching the video 3 more times
Ok, couple tips. #1 check some of the unit tier lists for ideas on which units to prioritize lvling. Dont lvl everything up as soon as you can. There isn't enough gold to go around unless your a grinder. #2 Build a balanced cost team. You want at least 3 units that can hit air. Have a main damage dealer or two. Then some support units and effect pieces (trains, pc, etc). 5 units and 2 effects is a decent combination. Good luck!
@@leagueoftilt3249 I try to stay around 4.0 average cost unless I'm running a Earth deck. Right now for units I'm running new mog and space G with GMK, PC, final wars Gigan, Mothra 92 and bio. That's 4.0 avg cost.

Edit: I admit, I've had my fair share of rage with this game, but, if playing the best units in the game means a player isn't "playing fair," I'd suggest checking any games you play in the future for the "PVP" tag. Because, trust me, that's the norm in EVERY game with player vs player gameplay. This review is so far unhinged and childish, I don't really know what to say. Man, I barely saw anything beyond Kiryu HAT that month. Orga was all but absent from the meta, Terestris was still too difficult to evolve, and Millennium Godzilla just didn't have the levels to compete because he'd only just gotten a buff and no one had invested their time and gold into leveling him.
Bro is complaining about highlevel monsters in a battle are 'too op' when they are supposed to be op because thats the reward of getting coins and getting battle pieces for it
yeah, means you have to skils AND levels once you get past rank 32. you can't go below that, so there's no place to go but up. unless there's a lot of new players playing at the same time, the matches before then are mostly bot matches, so they're easy if you know the strats to use to make the best use of whatever 4 star you want to use/build around. Especially in early game, silver and gold units are easier and faster to get more of, so invest in some levels on them while you wait for more 4 star drops, and your lower rarity stuff should be beating the stuffing out of those early level 4 stars. the problem is... new players are new. Y'all don't really realize how the game works yet... unless maybe you looked at a guide/tier video to get an idea of what you're doing right or wrong, and which units are still used even in high ranked play. That's the shortcut to picking up on strats and unit combos. otherwise you might head-desk until you finally get something right on accident. That guy with the lvl 20 g89 (which idk how you can tell what level it is, because there are no level indicators until level 30, 40, and 50) was actually playing very smart, unlike you, he was using support units like shinden, minilla, and 2 cost kamakurases to keep his g89 alive longer and stunlock your powerful, but slow attacking units. g89 is pretty easy to counter on its own, use a flier for example- he can't hit aerial units at all, so they're safe to attack without worries. 2 cost kamas can do pretty good damage when leveled, but more importantly they soak up at least 3 hits from non aoe units like g89. So, that a lot of time and massive hits blocked while something bigger could be attacking from range to bring it down faster. Kamas and shinden are both deck staples even in high ranks. at the start of the game g89 was the single strongest monster you could level up easily... and he dies easily to swarms, so he could be very difficult to use, cuz he still has counters if you really understand the roles and abilities of each unit.

The new units are definitely not OP either. Plus, they give you at least piece for free, and a few dupes if you buy the $6 battle pass, and a bunch of maps that have a slightly increased pick up rate (still trash, the 2300 gem maps in the shop are the same).
"Why aren't my level 1 units winning against level 5 units??" Really my guy? Aside from the obvious reasons, the first five levels is the highest growth rate, because before, 4 stars powered up at the same rates as lower rarity units,but were far rarer, so you never could use a new unit cuz even if you pulled it, a lvl 1 was gonna get clobbered by level 10 silver units. they adjusted it so that the 4 star units grow relatively faster in the first 5-10levels and then their growth rates per level slow down more and more. Either way, everyone has to slowly grind their way up. The drop rates really haven't changed since the beginning, and free gmaterials lets you choose any unit to upgrade, so that will help players to focus on raising key specific units. Man, I'm only 2 minutes in and your ignorance so far only promises for this to be the tip of the iceberg.

I redownloaded this game and wound up in the exact same place twice, I don’t think this is gonna help them in the slightest
Here are the games problems:
-Rank match suck cuz u might be fighting with someone has higher rank than u
-No connection=u lose
-New units r OP
-Some of the opponents r bots
-Egg hunt event kind of suck cuz it ruined the build
I just quit the game today and it feels so refreshing. I was so tired of losing all the time and dealing with the unbalanced match-making. The egg mode for this month was the breaking point. I played the game for nearly two years and this video shares the exact frustrations I have.

I remember the moment when they added monster x/keizer ghidorah. If u saw this kaiju during his season in enemy's deck, u can give up. Monster x was fast, has ranged and melee attack which, if im not wrong, push ur kaiju away. Its like fw godzilla, but much stronger. And even if u was able to kill monster x, there's no way u could deal with keizer ghidorah. Also fast, very strong beam and melee which fking heals him. And there's no way u could try to use ranged kaiju to not give him an opportunity to heal, cuz after each beam hes coming closer, and starting to use healing melee.
Actually there are a lot of examples like this. Three evas, shin camen rider, gmk godzilla, monster zero. It was very hard to deal with them when they were fresh and just came into the game. One deployment of one of them was enought to take 1/4 of ur main kaiju hp, even if u tried to defend urself

I quit back when they introduced Guardian Ghidorah. I just got fed up with the meta, between the Godzilla Earths, Minus One's explosion, Gigan 2004, and Mothra 2019. It just lost its thunder to me and became boring. Not to mention that I was wasting precious time that I could pour into other things like writing my stories or playing other games. It was fun while it lasted, though.
I did love the Ultraman and Evangelion stuff. I should thank this game for sparking my interest in Evangelion. Sometimes, I have considered returning to the game, especially with the new GxK stuff, but I feel like it could be a nightmare to try and get back everything I had. Some stuff would be impossible at this time, like Ultraman and the Evas. In the end, I think I'm better off without Battle Line.

I like Godzilla battle line. Its my favorite Mobile Godzilla game. BUT i definitely agree with you. The Game is completely unbalanced. I started to understand that the game is unfair when they added Final Wars. Final wars Godzilla was pure BS against me. It literally countered HALF OF ALL MELEE UNITS.
Another example of a kaiju being broken on release, not only can it melee but also beam?? It countered pretty much everything on release from what I remember

I used to played this game alot, then I quit the game because of how broken most of the teams were. Back then I had the Kamen Rider units, Kiryu and an Eva iirc on my team. Most of the units are just hell to fight against especially Eva 01's AS LEADERS, and after they added MV Ghidorah and Mothra I quit. This is 100%, one of the worst Godzilla Games ever.

I dropped the game around the time of the Monster Zero event. It was just a better Hesei Ghidorah that didn't need to evolve and costed around the same.
It's basically just an upgraded version that replaces the old unit... unbalanced.
Ghidrah 91 is one of the best leaders in the game tho

if you have issues with the prices (like buyable units or passes) DO NOT play JWA (Jurassic world alive) literally, the most expensive buyable item in the game costs like 250 BUCKS which may be diff in ur location (I live In oceania) but the gameplay is absolutely HORRENDUS, decent models, confusing attack effects, occasional model glitches and for some reason P2W everywhere, in fact the battlepass for JWA costs 30 BUCKS, and if you want the "GrAnD PrEmIuM" pass (extra rewards) its doubles that price.....

I can definitely see your point. There is a pay-to-win thing going on for sure. But at the same time, it definitely gets better as you progress, even as a non-spending player. One thing I'd suggest to Toho though is giving more incentive to players for playing fair matches. I can't remember the last time I played one, because there isn't really a reason to. A break between seasons would probably be a good idea too honestly. I don't think it's nearly as bad as you're saying, but I also completely see where your frustration is coming from. It is very difficult for new players.

Also, people will be putting them in their decks as soon as they get them... Not because they're overpowered, but there are event missions that get you free rewards for a certain number of wins with them in your deck. So a piece that is both a unit and leader will have two sets of missions- win 15 with them in your deck, and win 15 times with them as your leader. you can do both at once if you win 15 matches as your leader, if you do it as a unit, you'll have to do another 15 wins as the leader, so double the pain in the ass time. The gold rate up maps at the end of 15 and whatever title may come in the middle somewhere are usually the main goals. Veterans and whales with grind those missions out as soon as possible and then go back to using their real units, because even boosted they're actually a dead weight in the team. They're new, not OP unless you're a new player, and then... why not use them and figure out good team combos with them? figure out the strat that can beat them, especially when you can do the same thing and just have better choices of units and make better plays.

I ain’t gunna lie, most of the time I get rolled, it’s as simple as they have higher levels than I do. Yeah it’s annoying how beefy the new units get when they are launched, but at the same time, it’s nothing the end of the world. Ive been playing since the Eva update, never spent a buck, and a lot of units are kinda bad even with the upgraded levels. Like, mill goji was ok, it’s just not exactly the best choice. Same with orga and kiryu. I still think the game is flawed as fuck though. I agree with most of this

Looking at your rank, you are mostly fighting new players and bots. Also you are using the cheesiest strats with these boosted lvl mons and kiryu leader. 😂 Also if you used that strat and the next season rolls over. You went too high. You should have at least lvl 2-4 4 star, lvl 10-15 gold and lvl 20+ bronze to get into the 40 ranks.
Laugh all you want, but the only reason I use kiryu as my leader is because as a unit he sucks and because Absolute Zero is my only winning option at this point, same with my level boosted units, so before you criticize me how about try watching the video 3 more times

Ok, couple tips. #1 check some of the unit tier lists for ideas on which units to prioritize lvling. Dont lvl everything up as soon as you can. There isn't enough gold to go around unless your a grinder. #2 Build a balanced cost team. You want at least 3 units that can hit air. Have a main damage dealer or two. Then some support units and effect pieces (trains, pc, etc). 5 units and 2 effects is a decent combination. Good luck!

@@leagueoftilt3249 I try to stay around 4.0 average cost unless I'm running a Earth deck. Right now for units I'm running new mog and space G with GMK, PC, final wars Gigan, Mothra 92 and bio. That's 4.0 avg cost.

Edit: I admit, I've had my fair share of rage with this game, but, if playing the best units in the game means a player isn't "playing fair," I'd suggest checking any games you play in the future for the "PVP" tag. Because, trust me, that's the norm in EVERY game with player vs player gameplay. This review is so far unhinged and childish, I don't really know what to say.
Man, I barely saw anything beyond Kiryu HAT that month. Orga was all but absent from the meta, Terestris was still too difficult to evolve, and Millennium Godzilla just didn't have the levels to compete because he'd only just gotten a buff and no one had invested their time and gold into leveling him.
Apart from the chibi duo, DAB and Matchmaking, the game is great.

Bro is complaining about highlevel monsters in a battle are 'too op' when they are supposed to be op because thats the reward of getting coins and getting battle pieces for it
yeah, means you have to skils AND levels once you get past rank 32. you can't go below that, so there's no place to go but up. unless there's a lot of new players playing at the same time, the matches before then are mostly bot matches, so they're easy if you know the strats to use to make the best use of whatever 4 star you want to use/build around. Especially in early game, silver and gold units are easier and faster to get more of, so invest in some levels on them while you wait for more 4 star drops, and your lower rarity stuff should be beating the stuffing out of those early level 4 stars. the problem is... new players are new. Y'all don't really realize how the game works yet... unless maybe you looked at a guide/tier video to get an idea of what you're doing right or wrong, and which units are still used even in high ranked play. That's the shortcut to picking up on strats and unit combos. otherwise you might head-desk until you finally get something right on accident. That guy with the lvl 20 g89 (which idk how you can tell what level it is, because there are no level indicators until level 30, 40, and 50) was actually playing very smart, unlike you, he was using support units like shinden, minilla, and 2 cost kamakurases to keep his g89 alive longer and stunlock your powerful, but slow attacking units. g89 is pretty easy to counter on its own, use a flier for example- he can't hit aerial units at all, so they're safe to attack without worries. 2 cost kamas can do pretty good damage when leveled, but more importantly they soak up at least 3 hits from non aoe units like g89. So, that a lot of time and massive hits blocked while something bigger could be attacking from range to bring it down faster. Kamas and shinden are both deck staples even in high ranks. at the start of the game g89 was the single strongest monster you could level up easily... and he dies easily to swarms, so he could be very difficult to use, cuz he still has counters if you really understand the roles and abilities of each unit.

I wish there were better Godzilla games, the best one by far is gigabash but it’s very expensive, same with Godzilla ps4/5(my friend happens to own it). Unfortunately toho is a bitch outside of making movies and seems to only care about money.
