I think this is my favorite Constance. I feel like a lot of the time her character is played really nasally and deliberately dorky, but I love just having her played more awkward and introverted and genuine. There’s so much to appreciate about this staging ❤
I really like that during their "backstory" parts, the kids put a coin/token into Karnak and get a little piece of paper (Fortune.) Except for Jane, she puts in a coin/token in but doesn't get one. The way the girls also have a costume change too, not just the boys. And that in this version they gave Jane, a favorite ride.
Wholly obsessed with this Jane Doe. She just radiates this mixture of bubbly innocence as well as the most tragic absence of self that I really like to see in portrayals of her. I love when the actors add that mix of personality to her.
i just watched this and it was so amazing, i need to rant. i noticed a few differences between the characters here and in the 2016 off broadway rendition, karnak - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, karnaks humor is more sarcastic and dry, while in this one he’s more sassy and dramatic (i think this karnak might arguably be funnier, honestly) ocean - this ocean initially feels like more of a bitch than the one in the 2016 off broadway rendition, but i think that adds to her charm and makes her even funnier, and it makes her redemption at the end all the more satisfying noel - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, noel feels like more of a movie actor with how he’s a bit more subtle, while in this one he feels like more of a theater kid with his more dramatic actor and mannerisms, which i think is very fitting mischa - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, mischa feels like he’s using anger as a cover up emotion to convince himself he isn’t upset with his life, while in this one it feels like mischa is aware of how miserable he is and is instead using anger as a cover up emotion to convince those around him he isn’t upset. gus’ mischa is putting on a show for himself, while this mischa is putting in a show for those around him ricky - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, ricky feels more like he doesn’t know what to do with himself now that he has his voice, like he never even considered the idea. while in this rendition, ricky feels like he’s been waiting to have his voice, and now he knows exactly what he wants to do with it. jane - rohm’s jane feels more like she completely lost her sense of humanity in the accident, and she’s now a husk of a human and more of a doll. while this jane feels like she lost her sense of identity, she’s still human but she has no clue who she was, and that makes her feel more pain than anything. i think this might be my favorite jane i’ve ever seen constance - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, constance feels like she’s awkward because she doesn’t know who she is and is trying to figure out who people want her to be. while this constance feels like she’s awkward because that’s *who she is.* this constance reminds me so much of me, and i adore her. i love seeing the different interpretations of the same characters, and overall i absolutely adore this cast and rendition. not to mention the bit with the red lobster is the funniest thing i’ve ever seen. such an amazing performance
ok while alot of the vocals in this slime tutorials were a bit weak at times i loved the choreography and costumes prob one of my favs in terms of costumes
15:54 omg is Jane hesitant to go down because she can't see the edge well??🥺🥺🥺🥺 or maybe she can't walk well that why whatever is it it's saad☹️☹️ (Ricky's wave to her 🥺)

i just watched this and it was so amazing, i need to rant.

karnak - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, karnaks humor is more sarcastic and dry, while in this one he’s more sassy and dramatic (i think this karnak might arguably be funnier, honestly)
ocean - this ocean initially feels like more of a bitch than the one in the 2016 off broadway rendition, but i think that adds to her charm and makes her even funnier, and it makes her redemption at the end all the more satisfying
noel - in the 2016 off broadway rendition, noel feels like more of a movie actor with how he’s a bit more subtle, while in this one he feels like more of a theater kid with his more dramatic actor and mannerisms, which i think is very fitting
