    • @fgf80
      @fgf80 Год назад

If I didn't know better I'd think 451 was a reference to Fahrenheit 451, in which an authoritarian regime burns books to erase evidence of the past and romanticism about the future that might motivate people to change the world. The only reason I'm not sure if that's the point is because it seems like kind of a reach to get from that to misleading polling services.

It was the American Citizenship test, and he told us if any of us got 100% on it we didn't have to come to class the rest of the semester and would get full marks as we already knew everything the class would cover. I wonder if they could do a subscribe and save type model: if you order from AUS, LTT will partner with a "local" company and ship in bulk to them for "local" redistribution if the total is over $XX,XXX on day Y of the month. They deal with shipping, taxes, and partnership once per month at most and can set the region minimum in accordance with their needed margins.
Might get a lot of "Oh shit! AUS hit the target and cutoff is in 5 days! Tell your friends to get their order in!!"

If it requires more time it is not big problem for viewers. If it takes more time than video log it and realease it so we can feel connected to you guys. If you feel hammered from all sides I want you to ask these questions to your self. 1) Why you started LTT ?, 2) what was your motivation to start LTT ?, 3) What are the thing you would never do (off limits) for the good of your viewers ?, 4) What was your goal (vision) to start LTT ?

I have a Chevy Spark I bought back in 2015. It had a 5 star user satisfaction rating. How did it get that?
Guilt. They had two separate survey systems... one for actual in house stuff so they could improve their service, but another whole set to use in their advertising. You were told that if you didn't give your salesman 5 stars across the board he wouldn't be given his commission. Same thing for repairs- if you don't give your mechanic 5 stars he doesn't get paid for the job- but they had a whole different set of books for in house use.
They were also insanely pushy with marketing. Within a year they were calling me asking me if I'd like to trade my new car in on another car. I'm a light driver (I'm at about 21k miles on that car here in 2023... I told them when I bought it I hoped to get 20 years out of it). They wouldn't stop calling. I keep weird hours and they kept waking me up. Apparently each department had its own phone number list. It took me a year of me angrily telling them to stop, including having to call them and go through several levels of management and reporting them to the Do Not Call Registry, NYS AG and constantly attacking the dealership on their FB page to just get them to stop calling me.
I suspect Apple is doing it more for sales than for corporate. I suspect people buying stock are a little more sophisticated than the average Apple user.

We use mini PCs in the company all the time. They are simply easier to transport, to store and take up less space on or under the desk. Also with modern CPUs like Ryzen 5000 they are as fast as normal PCs. In particular we use the Lenovo ThinkCentre M75q with AMD Hardware, they are really good and reliable. We used to also have Dell Mini PCs but their Bios was just trash, you could hardly find any settings there and they crashed often or didn't boot into windows.

For Amazon. You just have a misunderstanding of the EU.
Try to look at it like (although not exactly) the US states and federal government and, for a lesser extent, Canadian government and the different provinces.
The Schwarz Gruppe operates grocery stores consisting of physical establishment with no online presence (it's part of their strategy, they do not deliver and have a very small non food related online sale). They have grocery shops all over the EU but in each country they operate under a local registered company and are subjected to local laws and regulations (that can be different than the EU ones, that are either a recommendation or a minimum obligation that can be surpassed by different countries).
Amazon, on the other hand, is an online retailer that works across most of the EU, registered in just one state (Luxembourg) where it pays taxes (or not, according to their tax filing the 44B€ revenues as a loss of 1.2B€ "due to heavy investments") but sell all over the EU so it is logical that they will be regulate by the EU as it does not have a direct presence in each country, it does not pay taxes in each country and therefor cannot be directly regulated by each separate country they operate in.
That's why the EU law only applies to companies, like Amazon, that operates online and in different countries in the EU. A company that works is a specific country will be localy regulated.

The answer to the puzzle at 12:55 is that the phone takes up more space on the desk top surface because the length of the phone is greater than the diameter of the water bottle, but the height of the water bottle is greater than the height of the phone and the overall area and volume of the water bottle is greater than the phone so the water bottle takes up more space in general

One thing to note about Apple, what I noticed is that they send the satisfaction survey about a week or two after you buy the device. This causes a bias as the purchase is so recent that you are still in the honey moon stage with your new gadget.
Certainly if the survey is applied at any time or after a year, results would show more in line with general studies.
So while they are not lying, their methodology definitely is a executive pleaser.

The Intel NUC is a great little computer for what it is. I have about a dozen of them.
I use them heavily for my video production business, primarily in my video production trailer. I can fit six of them on a shelf in a single equipment rack space (though I usually don't run that many at once). They can also be powered on 12V, which makes them really easy to run on battery/solar.
I also have them in my guest bedrooms, tucked behind and connected to the TVs in those rooms. It makes it easy to give someone a computer they can work on while staying with me without taking up any space and having to mess with an HDMI cable from their laptops.
I also use one as my home theater PC, running Plex. Works great for that.
