The only thing I would say for those people trying it is try to make sure your stuff comes from a healthy baby that is apart of your family.

That is true, sometimes they can be if a person uses stool from a donor with a transmittable disease. However, in most cases, doctors are prevented by the FDA from performing fecal transplants. This decision has drawn significant protest from doctors and patient advocates. However, some brave doctors who believe it to be medically justified in a certain case, have decided to help DIY patients by providing information to them and by prescribing screening tests for their donors so they could do them safely at home.

    • @MichaelHurstFMT4UC

The show could greatly contribute to the public's understanding of this issue by bringing in a true pioneer of fecal transplants Dr. Thomas Borody from Australia. centrefordigestivediseases.com/about-us/professor-thomas-borody/ Dr Barody also pioneered research into the use of antibiotics to treat peptic ulcers. Good question, because in a controversial decision the FDA decided to restrict when doctors can do it. In 2013 the FDA effectively decided to prevent doctors from performing FMT unless they were granted an Investigational New drug permit. However "enforcement discretion" was given for doctors treating c. diff which effectively gave them an exemption just to treat c. diff. blogs.harvard.edu/billofhealth/2016/03/01/fda-announces-draft-guidance-that-would-limit-enforcement-discretion-for-fmt/
