Thank HEAVENS he didn't let Lynch go through with the helium idea. Can you imagine how hilarious that would be?? Widdle baby Fwankie! I'm sorry, that's not chilling, it's just silly. Anyway, _Blue Velvet_ is one of my favorite films. I'm so glad it turned out the way it did.
the helium idea would have been amazing, him pretending to be a baby already had a lot of humor in it, the helium would have made it even funnier and probably even more twisted and disturbing
@@jpeg204 I kindly disagree. There's no way in a million years that I could take that seriously. Just thinking about it cracks me up. The film is already so off-kilter, I'm sure that would plunge it off the edge completely.
@@MadamFoogie someone did a video edit where he has the high pitched helium voice and it’s extremely chilling… only for the sex scene though, it wouldn’t make sense in any other parts of the movie.
After seeing him in this, he played a great role in it. He was an overall good man that was a former basketball player and a father of one of the sons of the team, but a chronic alcoholic that couldn’t handle being an assistant coach.
Also just rewatched the movie blue velvet from like 20 years ago. I always thought his character was a corrupt DEA agent. But then I remember that's the movie the professional. I think Frank Booth would have been scarier if he had some kind of legal authority than just being a deranged crime lord. Kudos to Gary Oldman in the professional and Hopper who were both in True Romance.
I like the fact that Dennis talked him into making it nitrous oxide over helium. It made his derangement that much more believable. So I think Dennis was correct here Lynch was kind of naive.
I'm someone whose comfortable with vulgarity per SE it tickles me frankly , Dennis Hopper good actor however I couldn't and still can't watch all of blue velvet because of his vulgarity I watch the dean Stockwell cameo Which is just as " freaky " Wicked in 2021 as it was back then !
Dennis Hopper was an integral part of the early LA Modern art scene starting in the late 50s. A serious artist that got acting gigs on the side. He was a painter and collage artist and then his studio burned down and he lost everything. From then on, he turned to photography. If you read Easy Riders and Raging Bulls you'll find he was not a nice romantic partner, using his girlfriends as punching bags. Curious if he ever came clean on that. Brilliant actor, though.
Really none of anyone's business how he treated his girlfriends .I don't like people like you that get on here get their kicks by saying this performer was an asshole you know what everyone has asshole tendencies depends on who looks for your inner mean those people are just as bad .
0:26 funny story, I was showing my friend and his family the movie Adaptation. and during the scene where Meryl Streep’s character is getting high with Chris Cooper’s character his day said this in horrifyed protest
he's sitting on a blue velvet sofa lmao
😆
Don't you fuckin look at him!

@@kben24 TIHI 💀
if he had the helium voice during the love letter scene it wouldve completely ruined it lmao
Loved him in "Hoosiers"

omg, Helium Frank Booth would have ruined the movie lmao. Denis Hopper saved Blue Velvet.
no it wouldnt have, it would have been amazing, even funnier and even more off putting and disturbing
Genius of an actor, great honest guy also
Very sad he's no longer with us . I love Dennis Hopper

I wish I'd met him, just share a brewskey with him.
Just make sure it’s Pabst Blue Ribbon, don’t tell him you like Heineken that shits for pussies lol
Just don't offer him a Heineken
@@merciless972 Pabst Blue Ribbon!
I'd love to have a beer with him....or a dozen beers...and an eight ball...and a pint of whiskey...
I once shared an elevator with him. He was talking about seeing OJ Simpson at a golf course after the murders
Bob way too scared to correct Dennis that it'd be more like Mickey Mouse rather than Daffy Duck
His performance in True Romance was his best
True Romance?? FUCK THAT SHIT! Blue velvet!!!
(i love both films)
True Romance was the better film, but Blue Velvet was the far better performance.
How the hell did we never get a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer commercial with him in it?
Now it’s dark.

Excellent upload. Interesting how the guy interviewing him usually only sticks to sports!
Actually he had a show called Later in the early '90s that interviewed many, many different types of celebrities, from actors to writers to musicians.

well, he did call Lynch and tell him that he IS Frank Booth
Chapeau to a great professional. He'll be missed.
That cut of him phasing into existance on the couch seems like a thing David Lynch would do
Somoene should do a scene as a case-study if the helium thing would've worked. It sounds amazing.

Ah, He Teleported into the Video.
Legendary.
So interesting I didn't notice the passage of time at all.
Dennis Hopper is Frank Booth lol
dont fken look at me!
I wish they did that helium idea for at least one scene, it would have been so great
frank kills
Imagine Frank Booth doing the New York Ripper lmao
And he played good roles in The Keeper and Speed
..what was the name of his characteristics
The a-holes on the left canceled the great Dustin Hoffman.
Yeah I'm sure he's struggling to find rolls
@@nekromatica He's pretty much done. And that would be roles, Einstein.
he's 85 years old, I think he's done either way lol but good job being conditioned to blame it on politics, sheep
Who cares?
