I love this song. Tina and Phil Spector's wall of sound. This was the first song she was able to do away from her husband Ike. He wasn't happy about it. But when Phil wants to do a song with you, you go.
This song is amazing! So sad it didn't get the notoriety it deserved when it came out simply because it "wasn't black enough or white enough" to be played on radio stations at the time. I think it's her best song honestly. 👌🏽
Absolutely love your reaction to this, I’ve often referred to this Spector masterpiece as “if the creation of the universe was put to music it would sound like this”
Please react to more Tina Turner: Private Dancer - entire album; What's Love Gotta to Do With It; Thunderdome, to name a few. Also catch her dancing to Proud Mary in the 60s and 70s. Phenomenal performer!
Phil Specter expected this record to go gold, and it totally flopped!!! NOT something he was used to happening to one of his "Wall Of Sound" recordings. Recorded in Gold Star Studio, the band was the Wrecking Crew. They were blown away with Tina's singing. At the time it was recorded, every take was ONCE! I don't remember how many times Phil required it to be recorded again and again, from the beginning, but it was numerous!
I guess the reason TGFN (the Guy from Netherlands insisted on the Phil Spector version was to give a demonstration of what Phil Spector brought with his own orchestration style called "wll of sound". This song is a fine example of that Spector touch.
Check out the phil spector retrospective collection Back to Mono 1959-1969 so many amazing songs and this was one. All his singles. If I am not mistaken his ‘wall of sound’ was multiple people playing guitar, two bass players, three guitars, etc. the chorus everyone all together in one room, cut live. Definitely a different era!
Another great reaction! You all should have more views and subscribers. You guys are so nice and your thumbnails crack me up very funny. Keep up the good work!
Why was her voice silenced by American record companies.? I have never found a definitive explanation beyond silly conspiracy theories. She was BRILLIANT.
The song is loved so much many well-known perform it like Celine Dion ruclips.net/video/u2qPXAkNBK4/видео.html or Annie Lenox ruclips.net/video/X9XZtoDhtak/видео.html or Tom Jones with Sasha Simone ruclips.net/video/11_Qf2zMfZg/видео.html But you should know even before listening that nobody is like Tina LOL

Idk how this song flopped, it’s so amazing
I heard this in my teens, have lived it since then.

You should find of her videos with her dancing. She makes you tired just watching.
Oh Tina is exhausting ti listen to. Watching makes it even harder. The energy of this woman is unexplainable.
Tina is a force of Nature. Ike was, at best, a "piece of work".

This song was a hit in Europe and the UK but flopped in the US, causing Phil Spector to be depressed and leave recording for years.

You must react to Tina Turner's Acid Queen from the movie Tommy.
Should react to Tinas Wish from the what’s love got to do with it soundtrack.

This song was a failure then. I don't know who could hear this and not appreciate the vocals the instruments and the lyrics.
this song is a religious experience.
