Try using different human sizes and head sizes humans should be smaller then the animatronics because yk gignatic metal robots trying to hunt you down 2. Try using adjustments, adjustments can give you much more freedom in terms of design 3. Time periods!, when making a animatronic try to base them of what kind of styles people wore of when the animatronic was made in your AU. 4. Colours! Colours are the most important thing in a OC. Trying using colour pallets that match. Like red and blue, yellow and purple, etc try using different pallets for different animatronics if theyre in the same band. Like if your nightmare freddy had the same colour pallet as your nightmare foxy. It would be good to change their pallets 5. Animatronics and humans! There are 3 ways to make them human, furry, and cannon, i personally chose the furry route, for humans try sticking to the ages they would be in for certain events like mike is probaly 12-16 before the bite so try making william in his 40s or something close you can use the fnaf move for reference, also dont use anything too modern for humans in the past. Humans that we learn that are in the future like gregory and cassie you can add more modern stuff to match where they are in the timeline Ands thats all, you can watch the one rychi made for a better understanding Bonus tip: this is related to colours but using dark and neon colours are a good choice when making designs, dont use the neon colours to much just for small details like hair gradient, eye pupils, etc
