Okay big question my parents had someone they thought was qualified and scanned them for over 30k they gave all this money to this lady to buy materials and most of the materials were never received and the ones that were received were of less quality and significantly less money than what the in voices said. Come to find out my parents had no contract written with this so called designer is there any way my naive but hard working parents can get any of that money back or is it just gonna be a messy legal fight. Looking for any help so I can help my parents who had a casita built on there property

I'm really sorry that happened to you. That is terrible.
The only advice I would suggest is talking to a lawyer even if for only a consult to see your options. It's not an area I have enough knowledge on to comfortably give advice on... I wish you the best and truly hope they can recover some of their losses

      Hi Marlo
If you are a part of a professional organization like ARIDO, ASID or IIDA they will generally have contracts available for you to use that have been reviewed by lawyers and are specifically for where you live. If you don't have access to that you can seek out a lawyer who does contracts and enquire about fees etc to create one.
