Kunstmuseum Basel | Neubau
20 March until 20 June 2021
Over the last fifty years, I've visited Basel's art museum several times and can highly recommend it. It should be better known internationally. If you go, it's cheaper to stay in Weil am Rhein, Germany, and walk over into Basel where hotels are a bit on the pricey side.
Great commentary Eva, very informative and detailed. I loved how you associated her living through the Pandemic of her day by continuing with her art, and found it inspiring relative to the current time. Also loved the cupboard interior, and her marionettes performing on the side of a building in the urban setting in the pouring rain, is one of my favourite artworks. Her work is so relateable, never aloof or arrogant. And thank you for this video. Kind regards Frances van Velzen, West of Ireland.
This is such an amazing thing to do. How wonderful to see this work and to have you Eva to guide us round these momentous works. Thank you so much. Mary
Very interesting and well made presentation, Eva !
Wonderfully and competently told! A one-take film a lot fo directors could learn from :)
Thank you Eva for this wonderful story about Sophie T. great work, full of your knowledge and passion! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for telling her story in such great detail.
Her work is nice 😊
Awesome video, really looking forward to seeing this in London in July
So I saw the exhibition in London - it was a total joy seeing so many different ways of presenting the themes and styles of the modern aesthetic.
Watching this tour I can see several pieces that were not shown at the Tate, or am I just that forgetful.
A big thank you to all involved in making this happen at the 3 venues.
Wonderful!!! Thank you!!
What an adept and articulate guide.
Thank you for the virtual tour Eva. It's so good to see a broader collection of Sophie Taeuber-Arp's work. I'm a great fan of her art. I'd just like to ask about her artwork that you have on the cover of the exhibition catalogue. Have you ever considered that the shape she uses in this work may have derived from a pattern template for a dress sleeve? I use to be a patternmaker and every time I see this art piece I can't help but seeing these shapes as templates for sleeves. Could you please investigate this and let me know please. I am very curious to know.
With Best Regards,
Angela
I don't understand how English Auto-Generated can understand every word you are speaking (different language for many words, and with your accent), yet, the comedy from Ireland of Mrs Brown's Boys absoLUTEly confounds it!
I'm .... speechless !! HA!!!
